Since November 2021, highlights from The Al Thani Collection have been on public exhibition at a dedicated museum space at the Hôtel de la Marine in Paris. These galleries also host a biannual series of themed exhibitions and provide a venue for loans from international museum partners, as well as educational events and seminars.

It really is a tragic double edged sword, admiring these priceless magnificent jewels... while there is no denying the exceptional skill required to create them, one simply cannot forget that for hundreds of years, millions of exploited and starving people slaved away in absolute squallor and died tragic deaths, just so that a select few people could swish around all day, every day, playing with priceless jewels (that could have fed, clothed, sheltered and educated hundreds of people, for years!)
But….if no one is willing to pay for the jewels…then how can the sale of jewels be used to benefit the less fortunate? That makes no sense. If a resource has no superficial value then it isn’t worth anything and can’t help anyone.
