If alcohol is legal ? Weed needs to be legal as well ? In Michigan we have medical and recreational use legalized. Alcohol kills more people than all other drugs combined worldwide. You still can’t drive around smoking pot or you’ll get a D.W.I. in the least.

I think it was a good thing, but hear me out. Norwegians settled the land more that 10 000 years befor the kvens from Finland and the Sami from Asia came to Norwegian land. Every country want to preserve their sovereignty. In northern Norway, the Norwegians traded with the Sami and made good connections. But one over a thousand years ago, many Sami tribes destroyed and burned many small Norwegians villages in the north. That sparked a rage that now is forgotten. That’s not the point. The point is, after Denmark had colonized Norway for over 500 years, and Sweden for 100 years, we needed to restore our identity and culture, in northern Norway the Sami had grown, but still a very small part of the population. The Norwegians had to preserve the people of Norway, and Sami was a part of it and didn’t want to be a part of the tax code, that every citizen had. Then it became clear that the Sami needed to be like Norwegians and then become Norwegians. Norway put them in school to teach Norwegians and general skills. The reason it was bloody was because the Sami thought they cold traid without tax and ceep all the rainder territory for themselves. The Sami had many small attacks on Norwegians, not the other way around, then the Norwegians started becoming more brutal in the way the Sami was acting. It was a result of Sami that had no plan to become Norwegians but wanted to live in Norway with its goods, and any country that allows that is no country. For reference, I have studied the Sami and Norwegian history from our independence 1814 to 2020, and have independently studied the history before this time. The narrative that Sami is indigenous is actually interesting, because Norwegian dna has been found over whole Norway for more than 10 000 years, and Sami only 1400 years. In the north they newly discovered a body that had lived 6000 years befor the Sami arrived, and the government don’t want to test it because it will be looked at like science racism.

Macedonia, Macedonians having to drink bottles of oil (just one method,so to speak) if someone overheads them from their window ,speaking Macedonian language. Macedonian was divided in three parts. This was happening in Greece to my grandparents. So so same! Same methods were imposed everywhere in this world as we knew it 😢😢. Iam so sorry for your indigenous beautiful Sami people and culture.

I am Canadian and live very close to the Six Nations reserve, and in a city that contains one of the oldest Residential schools that attempted to destroy the culture and language of our native people.I taught the grandchildren of many survivors of the Residential school and heard the stories when the elders were finally able to safely share what happened to them.I am Italian Canadian, and recently found out that we also have Cayuga blood in our Canadian family tree (a tribe of Six Nations). I am shocked and saddened to hear that the same thing was happening to Indigenous people in Scandinavia. I had no idea. Thanks for sharing your story of the Sea Sami.

I have lived in Norway for 8 years and have only had a Christmas meal twice. I only ate "ribbe" once and I didn't like it. I like fruits called multe. I heard it's a Christmas Eve treat. In Poland there is a custom of eating carp fish. On December 24, we eat borscht, fish soup, vegetable salad, etc., i.e. no other meat, only fish. Although things have changed a bit for some time and many people eat chicken, etc. On December 25 you can already eat meat, so she makes cutlets, pork loin in jelly, or salads with meat and vegetables. Any invention, but preferably on the Christmas Eve table, i.e. on December 24, there are 12 dishes. One place is left empty at the table with an extra table, because an unexpected guest may come. You talk interestingly about Norway and most people agree with You, but I haven't experienced some situations in the same way. Thanks and have a nice day :)

Where I'm from in Louisiana, USA, the legend of the Rougarou is a very popular folktale. It's a werewolf like creature that roams the swamps. A Rougarou is born when a Catholic disobeys the laws of Lent for 7 years in a row. I love learning about folklore from other cultures. Louisiana and Norway in my opinion have some of the absolute best in terms of entertainment.
