    when you have sins to your name, God places you in suffering situations, to wash away your sins, through much suffering, and be prepared to enter heaven with a clean slate. So, only in ignorance does one try to defeat others who are spreading suffering.

    China has been invaded and attacked by many other countries and kingdoms in the past, from Mongolia to Manchuria to Britain and Japan. I'm pro capitalism and democracy, but communism and totalitarianism was necessary for China to gain back control from foreign corruption. People want to talk about oppression, Han Chinese civilians suffered oppression almost like the Africans, even from their own emperors who were foreign rulers. What a rich history but with a dark side of so much suffering.

    Credit Shifu, This is was a great video. I practice Shaolin Temple Kung Fu and it’s true that we didn’t spar enough. Regular SANDA training is really needed for realistic practical fighting that is more useful when you are suddenly attacked, get in to fight or step in the ring.

    Chinese Kung Fu doesn’t work, and Xiaodong has proven that already, although the UFC had done it years before he did.

    I agree that there should be a distinction between how traditional martial arts were practiced in the past compared to now. Today it's a "sport", but many years ago it was life or death, and people were killed in tournaments. About MMA, much like the ancient Greek art of Pankration, I would suggest that it's a very competent approach to combat when it's one-on-one. However "going to the ground" if you're surrounded by enemies on a battlefield is not going to end well for you.

    To me what ever is done in a ring is a sport, to put a pair of fluffy gloves on a kung fu master is like giving the other a handicap.

    It's pretty simple. If you don't practice sparring, you don't know how to fight. If you don't practice fighting, you can't learn fighting. I don't know any Kung Fu style that practice sparring but Sanda. So they don't know how to fight but Sanda. 😐🤷🏾‍♂️

    All these traditional Chinese kung-fu are soft and outdated. Other than Shaolin kung-fu, none of them trains the body and mind to take a beating, nor train for endurance. Shaolin kung-fu in a street fight with no gloves or rules is the only traditional Chinese kung-fu that can go up against modern MMA and boxing. These Chinese masters are living in a fantasy world. It's why Bruce Lee updated his fighting style. "Be like water".

    Biggest issue is mma is not chinese , it makes china look weak and feeble , end of the day he is right these masters are fancy dancing and not fighters...nor are they conditioned... I would love to see xu take on some shaolin monks who are conditioned and fit , see how the art stands up against mma .... That would settle the question for me " is chinese martial arts effective "

    That guy in the middle is an actor, his horse stand is not even sou7 Kung Fu, more like Wushi of the noth. Grand Master Wong 黃飛鴻 has no photo available, a photo of one of his son are widely used because his wife said looks a lot like father. So much for the quality of this production.

    Hi, we explain the issue with the photo at 14:12 and thus since one alleged photo of him is thought to be his son and the other is not 100% confirmed, we felt it is better to use Jet Li’s portrayal of him on the thumbnail.

    Tones aren't separate from the pronunciation. They're one and the same.

  • @learnchinesenow
    @learnchinesenow3 күн бұрын

    We generally view pronunciation as the sound of the word, so what pinyin conveys without the tone added. Like “Shi” or “Ma” for example. Then we can add the tone “shī, shí, shǐ, shì”. So i really wouldn’t say that are the same, even chinese language dictionaries use pronunciation to help you find a word and then break it down further into different tones of the same word.

    Tai Chi pre-dates the CCP by hundreds of years. Do you mean that the CCP intentionally changed Tai Chi? Made it less effective? That I could agree with

  • @eziodafirenze7962
    @eziodafirenze79624 күн бұрын

    @@learnchinesenow yes, that's what i wanted to say! Excuse me for my bad english. So, the Kung Fu guys were a big trouble to control to ccp. Then Kung Fu were banned in the whole China. Folk didn't liked it. Then government starting Guomindan started to create new style - Sanshou. But as always, folk didn't liked it because it was pure box without any Kung Fu strikes. They also digged deep to sects and asked masters to change their style. How they could resist? They obeyed. And that's how taichi "for health" was appeared. But even now taiqiquan has more than at least 10 different styles, starting that old "pre government" style, ending just dance-like health program for elder people
