Tahoe Steve

Tahoe Steve

I build stuff. Quads and cars mainly, but I'm not afraid to dive in a project I've never done before. So, I’m here to try to inspire others to just go for it, and NEVER say, “I can’t do that”.

Great video. I learned something today. I have a question though. With the drone on the bench with props off. You arm, moving the throttle spins the motors, now if you move the right stick, do the motors spin. All depending which direction you push the stick. If the motors do not spin with right stick. Then when you take off does the right stick become active with the motors. ???????

Nice video. Would you do anything differently if you did it again? I have a 05 4x4 Yukon 5.3L. 233,000 miles. Looking to get a used cheap broken 4L60/65/70 to rebuild with my teen as a DIY learning project. To have ready. I found a used one for $60, with nothing but Reverse working. Thanks!

Unbolt the torque converter and slide it back away from the flexplate. Crank the engine and see if the noise is still there. It looks like a circle D converter. If it's a triple disc then they are known to rattle the disc when tcc isn't locked up.

Your video helped me. I learned one important thing. The model is different, but I took a hint from this video and solved my problem. It is difficult to find binding videos for Emax quadcopters with the TX16S. thank you

I`m thinking of running 2 1/2 pipes off the headers then have them merge on one side into a 3 inch pipe then a efficient catalytic converter with the single 3 inch pipe going back into maybe a Flowmaster 40 and exit the car with one pipe sticking out the back. No laughing! Do you think I`ll gain or lose HP?

Headers are good but converging to one and putting a cat in is bad.

Just a thought. You could get a remote camera and stick down inside sparkplug holes and see what you find. You could also send off the oil to see what the milky substance is. Other than that, you kindof have to separate parts and see where the sound is coming from.

I agree with the two gentlemen that suggest separating torque converter from the engine and start it. Definitely sounds like a flywheel/torque converter issue. Just out of curiosity ,why aren’t you bringing this back to the guy who rebuilt the engine?

The sound doesn't seem consistent for an engine problem more than likethe flexplate is cracked. Unbolt the flexplate from the torque converter and push the torque converter back a little bit and fire up the engine if the sound is still there then it is a engine problem if the sound is gone its most likely the flexplate. That would be my next step. Good luck if you have any question please reach out to me.

I agree. Motor ran smooth and couldn't determine where knocking noise was coming from. Used a probe for noise which took me to the rear of motor. Was confused until I was told to look for a crack in flexplate and saw it myself.

I remember a Grind Hard Plumbing Company video where their HMMWVE had a similar sound. Sure enough, the flex plate was badly cracked. I've never taken one apart but it seems easier than dropping the oil pan or uninstalling most of the turbo system

I wouldn't be sticking screwdrivers in the spark plug holes. I think you really have to pull the pan if you want to properly check out the bottom end. It's really hard to tell from the audio on the video clip you showed but to me it didn't sound like an internal engine issue, but maybe it sounded different in person. I assume you grabbed everything externally that you could get your hands on and give it a shake to make sure it wasn't loose. It sounded like it could have even been the exhaust clanking on something. Also, that didn't look like coolant in the oil to me. It did look like metal but I'm not sure it's more than you would expect after a fresh rebuild. No chunks at least. Of course this is just one more non professional opinion from an internet rando and we all know about opinions. :) I was just on your channel for the TX16S videos but I do also have some mechanical background. :)

Speed wire is all 8left n right wires for speakers + remote turn on wire. You still need to hook up speed wire to your amps, even if you replaced you speaker wire… or reroute your speaker wire to your amps instead of to your stereo. Hook up all your RCAs, ground, remote turn on. Pause video at 6:34 Stereo > amps > speakers/subs

@lilplayboiiip7081 why would I need to use speedwire when signals are being sent via RCA from the aftermarket headunit and power is being delivered by brand new speaker wire courtesy of the amp.

Thank you so much for the videos! I just received my dongle, antenna, and downloaded SDR Sharp today and was totally overwhelmed! However, after watching this video I have been able to somewhat get my "feet wet" and navigate the software and frequencies with a little success. I recently retired from Shelby NC, moved to Myrtle Beach SC, and was looking for a hobby to occupy my time when not golfing😜 I was about to give up on SDR when I found your videos. Thanks again for such simple and easy to follow instruction!!!

I think we need to connect power, ground, illumination etc from the radio harness to the car harness, ignoring all the original speaker wires in both looms. I could be totally wrong but no one explains/shows this. I hate CarAV KZreadrs.

I have a 2013 tahoe LS. Under the tachometer is a digital readout that scrolls through 9 different items, Total Mileage, Tripomter, fuel range, etc. On a sunny day when the sun shines in my driver side window, the LED’s aren’t bright enough to see the readout. I do have the dash light control maxed out, but the sun washes out the digital readout. The speedometer, tach, and other gauges are easily readable, but the digital readout below the tach, is readable at night, but seldom readable on a sunny day. Hoping an updated set of new LED’s would provide more brightness.
