Mr Tank A lots RC Tank Channel

Mr Tank A lots RC Tank Channel

The RC Tank channel on how to modify, Paint, and upgrade Heng long, Haya or any 1/16th RC tanks to scale models standards.
With simple to follow tutorials that anyone can hopefully follow, if you get stuck drop me a line!
I started this because others were asking about commission builds, but my first hobby as a kid was trumpet playing, and now it’s my living.
And I don’t want my second hobby going the same way!.
I thought if I make tutorial vids then people can copy and improve my nonsense.
Thanks all for your time in joining me in my hobby and if you fancy subscribing that would be fab!

Hi The tongde stuff is exactly the same heng long electrics. The plastic is a bit more hard? The details are okay, they look a little soft, but I’m sure they can be modded. I also believe it comes with torsion bar suspension. Have a great weekend, and thanks for watching!

I see these are the high quality chains from Mato Toys for the Leopard! . Your rubber pads have already been pre-assembled, but not here I have to improvise which glue to use to stick these rubber pads on! as these were not included with the Leopard (also purchase). I've never done the chain rusting thing before, but the question is, won't the rubber pads come off the chain? An answer to this would be nice of you.👍👍👍👍👍

Just wanted to say that your videos and our brief conversation finally convinced me to get a Leo 2A6 from Toucans eBay store. Went with one that has metal road wheels/idler, metal tracks with rubber pads, and a 360 degree slip ring turret. Have been really impressed with it since it’s arrival on Monday. A completely different experience compared to what I had 15 years ago with HL. Rough plan is to follow some of your videos for the view ports/optics and rough painting/screw hole filling. But I am thinking I might try to make it look like some of the Leo’s that have lots of tree branch’s and some black/colored tarp to break up the silhouette as seen on some of the videos showing Leo’s during training. Or I might try to make a Ukrainian leopard 2 with some Kontakt 1 ERA or try to make the one Leo that had slate armor around the turret that I believe was knocked out near Avdiivka and I believe was on display in Moscow for this years May 9th celebrations (I would of course do the pre-knocked out leo, though I would probably use some of the photos references of the destroyed tank). I did also have one question for you, is there any serious concern I should be having with running all those metal road wheels/tracks on a stock chassis that doesn’t have any internal bracing support? I plan to mainly drive it inside on hardwood flooring/very flat carpet and maybe some light driving outside on concrete/pavement with very minimal off road dirt driving.

Hi! Yes there so much better than 10 years ago, night and day!. And no, if you magnetise the hull, you may need braving because the screw bosses have male and female, which when screwed together stops all the twist (well 90%) if you watch my t-72 running vid, your see the hull twist, and that’s just hull magnets. There quite fun ranks now, and sorry for not getting back, works still nuts. Have a great week!

Hi Ben! Thanks 🙂 I’ve got a little thing popping up soon.. if you know what I mean, but I have to beg to disagree. I really don’t have anything to do with Haya, no freebies, because how would you know I wasn’t bigging up stuff and lying. The Chieftain got me back into rc tank modelling, for the reason its dimension are accurate. Most of the heng long, taigen, torro, Mato 2ww stuff is all wrong, wrong turret shape, wrong hight of road wheels, wrong dimensions (tongde Bradley for instance). Haya doesn’t do that, so as a base it’s easy to work on. The innards are heng long, but so is all there other much bigger brands with massive corporate whack, and massive unit sales. The more units you sell the cheaper you can make a product. Haya a little company in wales, with limited runs on the vehicles they make, so more expensive, and the tooling for one tank design is I think in the hundred thousand mark, even being made in China (god knows how much over here!) and you need to recoup that cost and make a profit or what’s the point, the company would go bust. The Clark board is the cheaper one, but to the install the better ones it’s even more expensive product. The bonus I guess is you can easily swop it out for the better one? I hate the fact Clarke can’t be arsed to change his boards to the new standardised heng long stuff, I hate that you have to retrograde to fit them, and it was the only company Haya could find that did what they needed(that’s why the cent was held up for so long, it’s on the rctankwarfare forum) The RTR tanks are expensive, if they were factory built, but there as far as I know all hand build by Haya in wales from the base tank, and converted in house by andrew and the other chap from the conversion kits. Takes a week of time to build it, even at minimum wage for maybe say 20 hours its £270.00 and the paint and materials. You could get the kit and stick it on a cheap tongde, with too small road wheels, and funky bazooka plate hights. I’ve run my chieftain a lot, and never had a problem, I might try and fit bearings to the road wheels, but the arms seem to be holding up. I also like to support a British based company, we don’t have enough of those 🙂 And again I have no affiliation with Haya, if they release something shocking I’ll say, but so far I’m happy with my purchases. Hope your really well, and I love the work you did on the tongde cent, I was thinking about getting one and comparing them, just looking for a cheaper 2nd hand one. Thanks for watching Ben, do you own a haya? You could compare them. Have a great week!

@mrtankalotrctankschannel thank you so much for a wonderful reply and with so much detail. I am looking forward to seeing the future projects 😀 Firstly I must apologise I didn't mean to imply you were sponsored content or anything I know you do all the work behind your projects and videos, it's a major part of why your videos are so good. I have been fortunate to cut several of the haya centurions to pieces for other projects. The bit that I was most impressed with was the bearings on the wheels and final drive it made it very smooth. I am glad you got back into the hobby as we have these great videos and I would like a cheiftain myself to complete my british mbt family tree but I can't justify haya's price when I am essentially going to strip it and rebuild it even the kit versions are eye Watering expensive. I do completely understand about costs for small business and especially when they have to develop a product they have to turn a profit. I think in my limited and humble opinion, they just are not worth it unless you really want that tank such as the cheiftain or the new spud especially when it has common components with other manufacturers and overseas development and production even if some is done in Wales. If we look at at other small manufacturers producing tanks currently alot are coming with very similar features to haya for half the price but including metal tracks, gearboxes, roadwheels etc and the built in boards (rebranded henglong boards) have servo elevation and recoil just like the clark boards. On a side note (adhd brain) the after market gimmel.kit does fit haya and tongde very well 👌 Anyway back to the main feature. The awesome thing about the hobby is there are four centurions to choose from but only 1 cheiftain.... I am sorry if this went sideways 😅 really enjoyed a positive discussion with a good chap. Really liked the t72 by the way and hope to see your next project soon. Are you going to get one of the spuds ?

Perhaps my imagination, but does the mounting bracket / arm for the IR searchlight actually obstruct the coax machine gun?

No, but the ‘arm’ should connect to the ir light and move it with the gun elevation. The heng long part is just a dummy, so might look that way, real life massive clearance. Thanks for sticking with the channel, and sorry for not getting back, the summer term is nuts, and I’m very not even managed to get into the model room for the last 2 years weeks. Have a great one!

@@mrtankalotrctankschannel All good. I'm sure you have things in the real world to get on with. I had assumed it was a issue with the kit, since there was clearance in the real ones I've seen.
