Friendly Exmuslim

Welcome to Friendly Exmuslim. I create content on Islam from the lens of a former believer. I was a Sunni Muslim for over 15 years who created large websites such as Lightuponlight and Versebyversequran. I am now an atheist who believes in freedom of religion, secularism, and humanism.

Check out my video responses to popular sheikhs such as Dr. Yasir Qadhi, Zakir Naik and more. I frequently collaborate with my partner in crime Abdullah Gondal and we run the weekly call-in show "The Two Abdullahs" together.

If you're interested in knowing more about why Islam is false, watching interviews with ex-Muslims and the journey of other former believers, this is the place to be!

The issue is, islam has a degenerate family structure; theres no concept of a nuclear family. Its a clown show of 4 wives+concubines. Mothers are seen as dispensable. Swap them around, mom A feeds baby B, next day she feeds baby C from mother X. This ideology that devalues a woman creates societies like this.

islam is a beautiful and only way of life. if you are sincere and honest you will come to realise as i have that only islam has the solution. all other paths are divergent and in time society realises this. better to accept than drag your feet. the messenger of God preached many things and all are proving correct. alcohol, sexually, drugs, diet, morals etc. almost nothing is left. most societies are now morally bankrupt. regarding apostasy there are reasons for the law and of course it applies. islam will always protect the group from those that cause disruption.

I’m a 58 year old retired Army Infantryman and fought in two wars in Iraq during my 26 years. I always enjoyed talking with Iraqis and Kurds to learn how their life and culture is for various demographics. After my 15 month tour in Iraq in 2003-04, I learned more than I cared for. From many Iraqi muslims I learned about the saying they have there; “women are for babies and boys are for fun.”…….that’s when I asked more about the meaning of that and started laughing. Maybe you can discuss this topic and what happens at the age of 29. Then there’s the camel urine. You can buy camel piss at every grocery store in Muslim majority countries since their prophet says it has health benefits, what those benefits might be, I have no clue. I heard a news report where a small store owner got in trouble because he was selling his own urine to the customers and labeling it as camel urine. Hilarious. Can you imagine as you leave the house for to go shopping, the wife says; “oh dear, don’t forget the camel piss and make sure it’s fresh!”. Lol.

@@FriendlyExmuslim I am ok with criticism but it must be fair and consistent. For example the constitution of the United States. It’s a document that judges and law makers try to interpret in order make laws that fall within that document. This is the same with Islam. The isn’t 1 standers that every Muslim follows without any context. And just like in the US there are people that are more conservative and there are people that are more liberal when trying to interpret it. Hadiths aren’t not laws. However in order the come up with laws, the hadiths and the Quran are a base line. But judges in Islam have the ability to look at situations and make decisions that will have the best outcome. But there are also standards that are followed. You may not think it’s the best situation but there are valid reasons that when a boy reaches a certain age he should be raised by his father if there is a divorce. The system we have today was around. Child support and visitation. These things can be factored into Islam now that they are available. But it is unfair and misleading when you make it like Islam is so horrible and backward when you put it up against a system that even today has many many flaws. Just ask all the men that have been given the short in of the stick. That have went to jail or even paid child support for year for a kid that wasn’t even his and doesn’t even get reimbursed. There are no good options after divorce, there are just bad and worse ones when it comes to kids. Courts and judges just try their best to deal with a situation that they believe will give the best outcome. And often it fails. Be fair with your criticism, that’s all I ask but Islam laws are black and white they way so many people try and make it.

The Hadith wasn’t meant for all time. The scholars took that Hadith and used it to try and make laws and deal with problems that arose in the community. It isn’t perfect and it was never meant to be. But a court system would use everything in those situations and the total of Islamic principles to come up with the most fair solution. Come on, at least be fair.

The fact that Muslims are asking "where are you getting this from"? is proof Muslims dont know Islam. I will never forget how Muslim women were telling an ISLAMIC SCHOLAR to ask forgiveness from Allah because he told them the truth that Muslim men can have 4 wives and not seek the permission of the first wife. This is how far removed Western Muslims are from Islam. Women in the Muslim world know this. If you ask anyone in the Muslim world if the taliban or ISIS are Muslims, they will say yes. Groups like ISIS and taliban have done nothing unIslamic. They have done nothing that wasnt practiced by earlier Muslims. I saw a Muslim woman go viral on tiktok due to her ex husband and custody. Little do people know, this is all Islam. She is Muslim enough to wear the hijab but not Muslim enough to accept ALL of Islam. This is raw Islam. Child marriage, polygamy, slavery, etc. Muslims are either unaware of what their religion teaches or they are in full denial.

As the Roman Empire expanded, migrants to the capital brought their local cults, many of which became popular among Italians. Christianity was eventually the most successful of these beliefs, and in 380 became the official state religion. For ordinary Romans, religion was a part of daily life. The religion of ancient Rome dated back many centuries and over time it grew increasingly diverse. As different cultures settled in what would later become Italy, each brought their own gods and forms of worship. This made the religion of ancient Rome polytheistic, in that they worshipped many gods. Matthew, delivered between 386 and 388 CE) to use the Greek phrase ta biblia ("the books") to describe both the Old and New Testaments together. Mathew not jesus.. The Gospel of Matthew is one of the most widely read of the Christian Bible. It is believed to have been written by Matthew, one of the original twelve disciples and apostles of Jesus Christ. Before being called to follow Christ, Matthew was a publican, a tax collector for the Roman Empire. His apostolic mission was at first restricted to Palestine and while little is known about his later life some traditions indicate that he travelled to Ethiopia, still others state that he was in Parthia and Persia. Matthew preached the Faith in Africa and was martyred in the year 65 in Ethiopia while offering Mass. The fact that Matthew worked for the oppressive Romans made him a traitor in the eyes of his fellow Jews. He was considered an enemy of true Judaism. He was also considered unclean and unworthy of coming to the Temple. Not only was he ceremonially unclean, he was also politically polluted and viewed as a self-centered turncoat. There are no direct analogies in our culture that will help us understand the role of the tax collector in the Bible Times.

Tbf imagine the living hell of being Mohammed's stepdaughter. In all seriousness, there is no arrangement in the case of divorce which is ultimately good for children. Children need both parents, a mother and a father, in the home. Sometimes it is absolutely necessary to separate a parent from the child (as in the case of abuse) but that is making the best out of a bad situation. Given that the risk of sexual and physical abuse are higher with an unrelated male in the home, one can see how placing a child with her father is the lesser of two evils.
