Life is good or bad is eventually what happen in each person mind, this is an absolute reality; the materialistic measure (how much money, how many properties one has), the physical measure (how tall, strong, endurance a specific person is) are just pure on the outside; to one person 1 million dollar could be a lot, but just barely make a flick in the mind of another; lost the vision and gone blind could be terrible to one person, but kinda okay to a born-blind person. Each person is only have their 100% emotional capability, when they goes from making $300/month to $600/month, they're happy like crazy, but goes on from there till $1000, $1500, $3000/month, doesn't meant they could be 10x times happier, some could be too happy or too sad and their mind gone "wild". The emotional capability of each person is different, how much pain one could sustain vary wildly. Accept the fact that life is about what happen in your mind and your emotion, stop / reduce your effort in trying to calculate your life and other life by number like money, properties, salary, fitness (for example, don't laught at someone who lost their car, or take it lightly, that one cheap car could be their most precious thing); accept that fact and you will have a new serious start. But...to be honest, on this globe, there're life that's like 99% "all that bad". Do ignore that people are suffering in hospital, in war and conflict, in slumdog villages. Nodar Dumbatze: one's soul is much heavier than their flesh body, it's so heavy that one cannot carry their sould by oneself, henc, as long as we live, we must try to help to ease the suffering of others

Focusing on myself and analysing my feelings will bring me down. It's not the beautiful surroundings, partner, job, money, nice apartment that brings joy. Man has three parts, body, soul and spirit...many people just use two parts, but actual joy can only be felt in your spirit. The more goals I reached, the more I realised that they can't satisfy the deepest part of me. We were created to enjoy our Creator and to express Him on the earth. And all else are vanities of vanities. I hope with all my heart that you can find eternal joy. From watching your videos over time, I do feel that you are seeking true fulfillment. I've been there, and know the feeling of reaching for something, thinking that can satisfy me....only to realise it didn't. But I have finally found peace. True peace is not religion, but is a Person.
@ryfreeАй бұрын
Thank you Cathy. I do think that there's something to that overanalyzing causes negative emotions thing. Whether it's you bitching about "small things" or two cavemen who didn't like the taste of a sabertooth tiger, even though they ate the tiger instead of the reverse! 😂
I love your sabertooth tiger example! Yes, imagine complaining at the tribal fire that it wasn't as good as deer or rabbit. Thanks as always for watching and sharing your thoughts!
I’ve enjoyed your videos since trauma in Japan. Stay active and positive
Yes Todd, I remember you. Thanks so much for the support my friend and hope you're doing well!
Thank you Cathy. I do think that there's something to that overanalyzing causes negative emotions thing. For myself, I find that a healthy balance between spiritual and sensual pursuits brings me to the happy middle. That said, feeling down is just part of life, like the trough vs the crest of a wave. Hope you're doing great my friend.
It's really difficult because our brains are hard-wired to a negativity bias. It's a holdover from our ancestors who had to look for risks around every corner. And I totally agree on student interaction being a real-mood booster. Yesterday was my birthday and I wasn't a fan of it pouring all day but getting paid at my sub job is always good. My favorite bar in town is closed on Tuesdays so I'm going later today to get my birthday drink.
Well happy belated birthday my friend. I hope you have a great time at the bar tonight. Your comments and experience on this channel are always appreciated. Glad you're making some money now.
Thank you. I've been subbing at the place for about a month now and while it's only a couple of classes once a week (used to be three but I couldn't deal with the kindy class) it's something. You ever make it up here I'll bring you to that bar I mentioned. It's run by a real interesting couple.
@@PsychoGemini Like you said, something is at least not nothing. I don't think I could handle the kindy classes anymore either. Okay, I'll try to take you up on that offer in the near future my friend.
post pictures of gf
You can see a few of her on my IG (link on my channel page) but I'll see if she's okay jumping into one of my videos soon.
Yeah, it can be easy to be down in the dumps when you’re focusing on all the imperfections. It’s nice that you were able to reflect and see that you’ve accomplished many of your Taiwan goals. Glad you enjoyed yourself at the seminar, bro :) Lol, that’s funny that your girlfriend wants you to learn a dance 😄 I hope it goes well 🤞
Yes, as silly as her request makes me feel, it is kinda hilarious and fun to practice a funny Asian dance. Plus it helps me kill time at work. Thanks as always for watching Sis :)
@@ryfree Haha, it sounds positive 😄 I’m glad she’s helping you stay youthful. Did your best bud have an awesome time working the Ren Faire? No problem, bro :)
@@Diana_Free Yes, he had a lot of fun but he worked as a bar back (basically stocking supplies for the servers) at a pirate themed bar. So he didn't get to interact with customers (which is a lot of fun but can be tiring too) but he made some $$$. Hope you're having a great week Sis!
@@ryfree I’m glad he still had fun and made some good money 💰 Thank you! I hope the rest of your week goes well, bro :)
Well, think about going back home to the USA 😢
I will be going back for a 3 week visit this summer and the idea of moving back is something I'll consider in the future. Thanks for watching!
Good video! Everyday is a gift, try to stay in the present. Moving to Taiwan soon, can't wait!
Thanks Ben, you're absolutely right. Hope your big move to Taiwan goes well. Best of luck!
We have been getting constant news of the threat China poses to Taiwan and the realistic chance of an imminent invasion. Could you make a video talking about the way you and other Taiwanese people see this? Are things as grim as they seem or is this greatly exaggerated? Anyway, I liked the video! You are a good speaker!
Thanks for the compliment and I really like your suggestion. I'll make a point to do that soon. Thanks for watching!
how long are the teaching hours in taiwan?
Working hours are 40 hours a week but teaching hours are a max of 20.
@@ryfree sounds manageable. but what do you do in the other 20 non teaching hours? They make you sit in the office?
@@YokNg Depends on the school and your relationship with them. Some of us are able to leave school while others are required to stay on campus. But you're basically free so you can read, work out, or whatever.
Ukraine?
Thanks Ryan, for sharing your process! I now have a deeper understanding of this word and can see how it applies to my own growth. Life is indeed a dynamic framework of opposites each running into the other. Knowing this offers hope for renewal and joy regardless of our present condition.❤
Yes, understanding and trusting in nature's way of helping us to grow can really help us through those tough times. I'm glad you got something out of this video and thank you so much for watching!
@@ryfree Trusting my inner being has been the key for me and keeps me on the path. So fascinating! I’m inspired by your openness. Thank you.
Cool man, finally a foreign teacher who actually looks passionate and serios about the job. Thanks for sharing! I'll keep watching your channel
Glad you found my channel! Thanks so much for the nice comment.
Excellent commentary on this poem... You actually developed your thoughts into a something of a moral point (Nature is imperfect, so people can never be perfect - just beautiful, each in his or her own way) - and I'm sure the Puritans out there would angrily disagree about the worth of this poem and the perfectability of Nature. Your talk was a wonder to hear.
Not everyone can appreciate Nature's beautiful mess but I'm glad that I'm not alone. Thank you so much for your kind and considerate comment!
so this is where the blu's clues guy ended up at
Oh no, someone has spotted me!
@@ryfree 😂 thanks for having a sense of humor. Well u r a teacher so I must have some iron clad patience
i am going to visit Taiwan next year !!!
That's great! Hope you have a pleasant visit.
thank you!
You're absolutely welcome, thanks for watching!
