Dude nice ride. You got all the extra equipment on it and the camera is awesome. Do be careful, Taiwan's known for its notorious traffic haha. Here in north Germany and the Netherlands people just bike everywhere. I don't see a lot of scooters. Have fun with the Yamaha!🎉

Yeah man, the traffic here is no joke! I do love bicycles still but the scooter is a different kind of fun. Hope you're enjoying your rides out there!

Sahweet ride man!! Haha so a combination of a nice scooter but also not really afraid of letting it get scratched a little when parking it anywhere in Taiwan 😉 Let me know if you ever plan to come up here! Would love to take you on a ride around Alishan, one of the most beautiful mountains in Taiwan!

Get yourself a Honda Grom with some knobbie tires and a heightened exhaust, if you want to go on the back roads. Or a drz.

Similar deal as in Italy 🇮🇹 scooter 🛵 or small motorcycles 🏍 50. Cc can be driven without a license very cool! I can’t remember if you need a license for the 125 cc in Italy 🇮🇹 so long as you already have your car drivers license. I could be mistaken but in Italy you may be able to drive your 125 cc with a Italian car drivers license up to 150 maybe. The Italian drivers license test is a real hard one to pass compared to the 🇺🇸 one though. You need to pass stick shift and the written test has a lot more material to it. #stayepic

Great looking scooter. I just rode on the back of my cousin's scooter for the first time yesterday as I spent the weekend in Taichung. Really nervous but it was a great night ride around town. Definitely a much needed outing given the state of things for me right now. I did highly appreciate the cooler and windier weather here in Taichung. I can't stand the continued 80s and 90s in freaking November down in Tainan. Anyway, happy to see you've unlocked real mobility here on the island.

Congratulations! A scooter is freedom in Taiwan. I believe for the 50cc scooter, you still need a license. You can either get the smaller scooter license or a car driving license (so no need to do the scooter test ride).

I was nervous my first few times as well. I definitely feel better as the driver than on the back of one now but still nowhere near as relaxed as the locals. Anyways, glad to hear you got out and had a nice respite from your situation. Also good to hear you have some family here for support.

Thank you Ryan. It was also my second time in Taichung as I had only been once before I believe back in 2015 when I visited to take a look at Fengjia Night Market. Taichung is definitely a lot different than Tainan down here what with its wider streets and is generally way more spread out. My cousin, his friends and I went to Mitsui Outlet Park by Taichung Port and let me tell you, it felt like being in Japan without being in Japan. The outlet is the same as the one my aunt takes me to when I visit her in Kisarazu. Same went for the Lalaport shopping center near Taichung Station. Anyways, I don't think I would mind moving up there to be closer to my cousin and also just to have a different vibe compared to how it is down here. It definitely felt great to be back in actual civilization again compared to my dumpy little district. We'll see what happens. Take care Ryan.

Taiwan will be removing the 50cc category on the road, anyway the scooter license in taiwan is super easy to get it.

I'm so surprised how long you went with out a scooter here in Taiwan!! You co-workers definitely initiated you with your first drive being in rush hour traffic...hahahahaha. Where will you head to next with your new found freedom and why did you choose blue?

A harrowing initiation which I passed by the skin of my teeth! Great questions...I think for now I'll be mainly using it explore areas near Kaohsiung that I haven't been to then start thinking of taking it further (Tainan maybe). Oh, and blue because a) it was the newest color they released and b) it's my favorite color! Thank you Leah :)
