The Liberty Rifles (LR) is a group of living historians who strive to accurately portray the common fighting men and home front civilians of the American Civil War, while excelling in terms of authenticity and organization. We constantly seek opportunities to educate ourselves and others about the sacrifices and experiences of our ancestors. The LR was founded to represent soldiers and civilians on both sides of the war with equal accuracy and honor.

Imagine cooking breakfast in the morning, then hearing 20,000 experienced soliders yelling like that within mere feet of your trench. no wonder those Union soldiers at Chancellorsville didn't stop running until they hit Mexico
Wow. Amazing
Sitting here watching it not so Intimidating ! Now if i was on the Battlefield and heard that sound coming at me i would be terrified! Any man who says he wouldn't be is a lier!
I think they are a little late 😂. Jokes aside, thanks for posting! Keep our history alive! Grateful !
Lol sounds way weaker than I've always heard it described
the little kidz r scarred for life.
They sound like raiding native clan. I’d shit boulders. Shitting rocks just hearing it now
😂you are cowards
Good job chaps. Love dem Rebs!
So cool
Impressive, always love seeing true company+ sized formations. But I must say that the classic, stoic, three Huzzahs always just hit a bit harder for me for some reason😌 (I acknowledge my bias)
Holy shit they have bayonets AND rammers? I'm in heaven!
Supposed to be descended from the Higland Charge
как макаки визжат
You guys are fantastic!
well that went up my spine
hell on the wabash is so catchy
Hancock asked for 5 min they bought him 15 pushing 1,400 under Wilcox 75 yards. Those 47 were richly rewarded with the opportunity to help defend against Pickett's charge the very next day. The were joined by I believe it was about 100 of their comrades who had been detached on the second day.
imagine waking up in the middle of this
Привет из России!
sounds like monkeys
Честно ? Смешно, а не страшно. Орут как чайки.
"Colonel, do you see those colors? Well, take them!" Of all the many, many heroic vignettes to come from those three days, the story of the 1st Minnesota has always been way up there with The 6th Wisconsin and the 20th Maine.
Slaughtered. 262 men that went in to battle, 47 walked away unharmed. 215 men were either killed or wounded and the regiment suffered a casualty rate of 82% by some accounts.
Чушь!!!
Liberty rifles. Cute. Losers.
I always wondered if the natives screamed, yelled and carried on like they depicted them in western movies.
My ancestors fought on both sides of the Civil War and from what I've learned they took that from the Native Americans and then adopted it within their ranks because they fought side by side. The unions response was to use grapeshot.
Aside from the clean uniforms, would have fit right in, in 1865. Great job!
Ludwell, Lemuel, and Benjamin Hutchison were my relatives.
CSA 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank You for posting this!!!! I'm a Texan and Southern to the core, but this gave me chills!!
Old hickory said we could take them by surprise if we didn't fire our muskets till we looked them in the eyes
The Union’s Gatling gun waiting across the field:
They never used the Gatling in infantry combat lol
@@tyrian_baalthey did in the trans-Mississippi theater, but in only one battle.
Слава конфедерации!
Just don’t say “Counter-battery”. I was in the arty section on the other side of the field here lol
Drunken hillbillies.
Never quite got the practicality of hiding behind a rail fence. We can see you !
In linear warfare, if you can see the enemy, they're either a) shooting at you or b) being shot at by you.
CIVIL WAR WAS A LONG TIME AGO
She cried more more more!
I feel when Grant heard this , he was like" oh look canon fodder , how nice of them to let me know of their position "
Keeping history alive. Thanks!
Что сказать? Конфедераты!
so first two riders must be some engineering officers or smth who was the gentleman walking after the 2 first riders? the official photographer of the regiment? 3rd and 4th riders must be the colonel and an eide
Я думал это бабы верещат.
your mom
I’ll bet that’s very much like what it looked like. Nicely done.
This regiment was practically annihilated at Gettysburg.
Not practically. It was annihilated. I think less than 40 returned to Union lines.
@@mattmccracken1768 The regiment was reinforced with some of its detached companies for July 3rd and participated in the fighting against Pickett's Charge. They had little over 100 men after Gettysburg, capturing 322 Confederate prisoners at Bristoe Station.
Now add in anger, fury and sorrow at brothers, fathers and uncles lost, add in missing breakfast due to a forced march to the battlefield. Oh man it'd be something.
Only southerners could act like deranged monkeys
Amazing and Kudos to those musicians! Absolutely stellar skill
gotta love Hell on the Wabash
