  I'd like to play as a deserter of the civil war. Maybe a group of deserters form a gang, could be a cool angle. The gang part might even be a little overdone, maybe more of a loner character.

  With the bandana I think that if you were wanted in a certain outfit, and than later you put on the bandana but have the same outfit you will be wanted because people recognize the outfit

  It feels weird to use real life cities but ur examples are pretty good i guess. Just figured it wouldnt be that easy Blackwater as an example is odd because its on a lake the real ones on a river, it works i guess but feels kinda lazy

  A game set in the 1870’s/1880’s. The civil war is still very fresh on Americas mind, and the Indian wars are at its height. With the north and south healing by uniting east and west via the railroad. You play as a young US Marshal, sent to the frontier by the US Government to bring down local gangs and hostile natives. Throughout the story you see how corrupt the Government, law enforcement, and rail industry was during this time. With morally gray stories and side quest similar to the Witcher 3, where you’re forced to choose a lesser evil. In some cases the gangs could be in the right and Vice versa. The game could take heavy inspiration from shows like Hell on Wheels, and being in an actual police game, reincorporating features from LA Noire. Lawman to vigilante seems to be a reasonable “Redemption” story. Similar to ghost of Tsushima in a way.

  cool method, but it involves killing the Van Horn fence owner and my heart would never allow me to bring harm upon that sweet, sweet man. edit: for people with similar sensibilities, you can also just rent a hotel room and make sure you end up waking up at night before the game tells you you can't sleep anymore. You can go wait outside a shop which resets your Rockstar allotted nap time.

  I've been to lagras in red dead online. All I've been doing is roping people of their horses, hogtying them, then throwing them in the water for the crocs. It was pretty fun.
