I would love a Lawman/vigilante game, having it where the "redemption" in the game is when the lawman redeems himself of the corrupted system he is in. I also love the idea of a young man wrapped up in a gang (perhaps the Van Der Linde one) and the "redemption" in that game is him leaving to start a family, and after we play as a young Arthur Morgan for the epilogue. Realistically, we're getting Mac Callander for RDR3, as he was being built as this massive character in Arthur's life and has some of the same story beats that Arthur had.

I never thought of having San Francisco but it sounds like a great idea. Also the 1860's setting, so much was happening back then besides the civil war, id love to go south of the border and experience the Mexican Empire, actual vaqueiros or just the western part of America in general. I really hope rdr3 goes this direction.

Flipping the other games' west meets east would be neat. You'd start out in a caravan of pioneers from an east coast city bound for California with plans to tame the west, but gradually become more disillusioned with society as the journey progresses further into wild country. Civil War deserter turned bushwhacker would also go hard.

This is my idea for RDR3 RDR3 Story Idea It’s 1914, Isaac Morgan, now age 26, is on the tail of a mysterious outlaw who killed his mentor Agent Ross. Isaac, was thought to be killed by a group of bandits with his mother in 1894, but in reality his mother Eliza faked their deaths and tried to find a better life elsewhere. Isaac was raised by his mother to be a very good man, and always had a calling at being a lawman. Isaac became a lawman at 19 years old in 1907 and then came under the leadership of Agent Edgar Ross in 1911, after the deaths of the rest of the Van Der Linde Gang. Isaac found out that his mentor Edgar Ross was shot to death in a river in New Austin. He goes to investigate this mysterious murder that occurred, and is on the tail of this dangerous outlaw. His investigations lead him across the Eastern part of the United States, stumbling onto various clues, and going from the Center Town in Amabarino all the way to the streets of brimstone, finding his mentors Killer. He stumbles upon Jack Marston, a young kid at the age of 19, and interrogates him. He notices that Jack is wearing a very similar Jacket to his late father’s and questions him on it. Jack and Isaac meet, and the story from there can be interpreted in one way or another. RDR3 map is huge, about 2 times the size of RDR2 and includes the entirety of the RDR2 map, with Mexico, and new additions to the East and Western portions of the map. What do ya’ll think so far?

I completely agree that the Van Der Linde Gang story is complete. My favorite Wild West story is the Lincoln County War. I think a cattle baron war would be cool in a landscape like the heartlands and west elizabeth with the option to go into the mountains to be a mountain man. That timing doesn’t align great but that’s my favorite thing to do.

I agree with the idea that we need an RDR game that takes place much earlier than the other two. They were both excellent games but there is so much more potential in having a game set in the 1860's, probably near the end of the Civil War. Maybe have the protagonist be a member of an outlaw gang made of Confederate deserters? That way the protagonist would be getting hunted by both the Confederate and Union Armies. Have them move west to get away from both the fighting and have the adventure begin.

I want a game like where you play as a 16-20-year-old kid in Missouri in the civil war or a bit before the civil war 1855-1859. Where you are a former confederate guerrilla during the war you were with a Willam Quantrill or Bloody bill Anderson type character. I think after the war the main character should become a gunfighter. Or start his own gang (like most of the former confederate guerrillas did after the civil war). After like a few chapters he leaves the gunslinger or outlaw life he starts a family until an old gang member/bounty hunters attack his home and hurts his family. Injured and dazed he rides to a town, and he gets patched up and he starts his quest for vengeance. I forgot to mention after the war he moves west so he could have a better start his gunfighting/outlaw career.

In RDR2 they talk about a time with the gang was separated for a couple months or years before black water. Arthur and Hosea got separated from Dutch and John, each having their own groups to look after. I believe the next game will be set in this time. Roughly 1897, and you will play as both Mac and Davey Callander

I want a game that takes place somewhere around 1873-77 because that was the peak of the Outlaw Era in the Wild West. That was when Outlaws weren’t just lowdown criminals running from a country, a world, that didn’t want them anymore. They were icons they were as famous as they were feared. Heroes and Villians. We could see the Tatum Brothers and Otis Miller and the 5 Gunslingers from RDR2. You would be an Outlaw trying to reach the level of Otis Miller and Jim ‘Boy’ Calloway.

The native american storyline from RDR2 was one of the best parts of the game, I wish they would show more of those people’s cultures. I love to find items and points of interest around the map that tap into this side of history. My character in RDOnline was a native american as well and I loved roleplaying as such, stealthing my way into enemy camps with my bow and arrow, bringing out the tomahawk for the brutal kills. One of the biggest crimes of RDR2 was not keeping the Skinner brothers as a Native American tribe. As it stands, they are essentially the Mufree brood 2.0 but they could've been so freaking badass. It fits canocially, as this would have been the tribe that Dutch would've used and manipulated in RDR1. It's stupid that they wanted to be politically correct, because it wasted such a cool opportunity. After all the depressing storylines of the Natives dying off, the last ones going to war, Rains Fall losing his son, etc, it would've been so cool and refreshing to suddenly start seeing them merc people in Tall Trees. You'd even be able to pick up hats and their weapons, and along with some crafted items and clothes, you could've roleplayed as a Native out for revenge! or Justice! or something! screw the politics that deprived us of all these opportunities!

I love the idea of expanding outward west, theres so many ideas in my head for a red dead threes map, a redwood forest area with a town that’s almost a mix of rhoads and Strawberry, a cramped San Fransisco inspired city on the coast, and a county based off the red rocks in Colorado just to name a few. We hear that Sean joined in the game in north Elizabeth, which brings up ideas of a less harsh Ambarino containing a coal mining town in the foot hills. Another cool idea is a new region of the Grizzles, as micha joined in a bar in the grizzles, maybe there could be a tavern on the road for travelers? Not a full on settlement but just a few houses and a large bar and inn. I also think the idea of a man coming out to Thives Landing would be an awesome idea, joining the law force there imagining life on the west as your stereotypical good guys vs bad guys narrative, only to realize that the police were pains off, hence the name thieves landing, and that live in the west is truly a lot more morally grey than it seems. And when his family dies of cholera, he hangs up his badge and begins traveling the country, trying to bring overs the dream life on the prairie he never had, possibly inspiring a young Dutch. Or, in the case of a low honor route, he gives up on life, and does the bidding of a corrupt lawman, roaming the frontier doing dirty business with gangs and locking people away for not paying things like protection.

I think RDR3 could still be about the Van Der Linde gang. I would enjoy a game about the dude arthur talks about when playing Dominoes with Tilly. He talks about a "traitor" that Dutch killed in the camp. Maybe this character could've had some sort of redemption like Arthur did. Maybe he saved an enemy of the Van Der Linde gang that he had a secret relationship with or something. And it would be before red dead redemption 2 which would link up with how the games go back in the timeline. And we don't know anything about him other than he is an unnamed "traitor", which isn't a big spoiler for the game

A map based on the west coast extending from San Fran in the south, Portland to the north. The western border would be the pacific and the eastern border would be the rocky mountians. The time period would be around 1880-1890. These areas have a very rich history that is filled with its own folklore and legends. The main storyline could incorporate some of this folklore (like Bigfoot, ufos around mt Shasta, cursed Indian burial grounds, buried treasures) and the story of the protagonist could have run its with Trelawny, and a young Micah Bell and his father. It’s known that Micah lived in the Bay Area and Trelawny would travel to oregon for business. We could completely leave behind the Van Der Lin gang for the main story but simultaneously get insight into how Micah became the bastard we all loathe. This is the game I want to play.

Some of the things I want from the next Red Dead More challenging Bounty Hunting - I don't want to just be given a location and for the bounty to be there every time. Give me a city/state they were last seen in, and you have to ask around for them and if you find them, and they get away, that shouldn't fail the mission. It should just make it so you have to go around to other towns to see if that's where they escaped too. This would make Bounty Hunting more fun and less repetitive after multiple playthroughs imo. More customization options - A big thing that bothers me about RDR2 is how limited the customization is. You can't wear different styles of gun belts with your holsters in different positions, you can't wear your bandanna with every shirt without that shirt automatically buttoning all the way up, you can't close your coats, you can't open your vests, there aren't many truly unique hairstyles, no jewelry, etc A different story - I don't care to continue the Van Der Linde gang story in any way. I don't want to play as Jack in WW1 because that wouldn't even be a Western game, playing as a young Arthur/Dutch/Hosea wouldn't make any sense because there would be no redemption for them in the end, and playing through the events of the Blackwater heist also wouldn't make sense as there would be no logical epilogue. I'd love to see you play as two Brothers/a Native American tribe/a former slave/a Mexican gang member/a Marshall/a bounty hunter or just something different.

My hope for a while has been for the series to fully shift to Mexico for a Red Dead Revolución kinda thing, since I loved the parts of the first game that took place south of the border, get that full Mexi-Western vibe with a bandido-revolutionary main character. I definitely think a brother-sister duo would work there too - one's committed to the cause, the other just wants the outlaw life. Could be some pretty cool biomes too - you got your deserts, your gulf-coast jungles, some towns and cities, could have some old Mayan temples, that kinda thing. Like you say, just spit-ballin. With that said, your lawman-vigilante concept really scratches that old-fashioned Spaghetti Western itch and I'm so fuckin down for that. With you 100% on the need to go back to the Golden Age and westward too. We've done that melancholic death-of-a-way-of-life thing for two games and it can't be bettered by something further down the road. Time for the full, old west gunslinger experience.

Has nobody considered what Javier was doing between 1899 and 1911? He's a pretty different person between the two games, it would be interesting to see what happened in Mexico between the two games. Also, it would involve Mexico, again, which I think would resonate with the players who missed in in Red Dead 2. They could build off of the story and mechanics they've already made (especially with people like Allende), and they could add a high honor vs low honor fork where, if you play with high honor, you turn out with a better ending while the low honor ending leads to the events of the first game. It may be time to retire the van der Lindes for good, but Javier's story is still open for elaboration, and it would be cool to go back to Mexico and tie off the story of one of the story's more interesting and complex characters.

I really feel like they should remove the Redemption part of the name if R* makes a new western game. It should really be a new cast with a new name(Keep 'Red Dead' but have a diffrent 3rd name like Revolver did) with a new overall theme beside revenge.

I like the idea of you playing as a Pinkerton right when they start out so they don’t have the reach they will have eventually. So you can play as a clean cop or a dirty one. The one problem I would see is the redemption part. Maybe he starts as a dirty law man getting more power as a Pinkerton and its up to the player to either get his shit together and be the man that he should be or go full corrupt

My take on the whole sequel thing is this; There is no need for a whole new game in the franchise if the current engine and gameplay are up to par, what we actually need is a DLC which uses the already perfect system from the base game and adds upon it, there is no need for a WHOLE new game, that is too much for a van der linde prequel or an aftermath of the first game (Jack storyline) or pretty much every other thing the fanbase wants from a RDR 3, there is nothing that the players wanna see that couldn't be done with just a good DLC, none of us desire even better graphics than what we currently have, a new game from Rockstar is usually a big step forwards from the previous one, they dont stay in one place with their big titles.

RDR3- A half remake/reboot of the Red Dead Revolver story playing as Red Harlow. I’ve always thought of Revolver as being loosely connected but this would be a great way to officially connect the storylines. It would obviously be set well before RDR2, completely rebuilt and much expanded Revolver map while connecting to already existing RDR map and a far more flashed out story with some new stuff. Graphics better than RDR2. Yes, it’s not completely original- but would still be bad ass to play as Red Harlow. He’s already mentioned in RDR almost as a legend or campfire tale. It would be wild to play out all the mythical tales of Harlow in a new RDR game.

YES Having some of the pervious characters from the games would be perfect. It would immerse you more in rockstars crafted old western time period. Also maybe seeing younger versions of the towns and your character would see what really happened in Valentine or the downfall of Van Horn, and how it fell into a town of scum and villainy would be awesome. I also would love to see the ability to create your own story and character. (like rdo) That every story would be different and you could play how you want, make the decisions you want just more freedom and options. Not being limited to the boundaries of a like rdr2 was.

Landon Ricketts could be a good option, golden age Wild West and morally gray character, he is often called a lawman but he had a sizeable bounty and interacted in a friendly way with outlaws like Black Belle. Also his role in the blackwater massacre is vague, he could fit in with both the gang and the Pinkertons in the shootout. Also, soloing outlaw forts, dueling gunslingers, and choosing to either be an outlaw or a lawmen or one thing in one state and one in the other.

Freed slave/buffalo soldier turned us Marshall (bass reaves) Ex military union officer turned mountain man like Jerimah Johnson And a Native American of the plains Indians Make it like gta 5 with multiple playable characters The game gives you options of being a neutral player- farmer, rancher where you can build up and upgrade your farm and skills to actually make you in game money from live stock and horse trading A semi bad player - con man, where you go from territory to territory selling your goods, or doing odd jobs for less desirable people like the hood bad and the ugly A bad player- outlaw, where you can conquer territory and upgrade your numbers and influence in areas , your main responsibility would be defending from rival gangs or bounty hunters, and planning bank robberies or train robberies A semi good player- bounty hunter, where you get to participate in the capture of wanted characters, send out your bounty team to collect them And a good player- lawman, where you’re responsible for protecting a territory from outlaws and con men, River boat fast travel Multiple horse storage at upgraded ranches Set during the civil war for all the reasons listed in video, Slave revolts civil war spy’s, Great race west Gold rush Buffalo trade Little big horn Comanche battles Yeah rockstars gang member recruiting is awesome for these games I would have them meet and help a character named Red Harlow

Alright my idea: (SPOILER ALERT for RDR2) Late 1860’s or early 70’s. First a shorter chapter where protagonist is in his teens and sees his father get killed by a criminal. From here on he promises himself to fight injustice. Protagonist has a younger sister and a mother. They live in a state north of New Austin and west of West Elizabeth in a lower class house just outside a small town. Ch.2 late teens, early twenties, he is a deputy sheriff and works for an older guy who fought in the war, strict guy and a bit unorthodox in his lawman ways (corrupt and violent etc.). Eventually mother tells protagonist that his father also used to be a criminal and he was killed by someone he owed little money to. He finds this killer and shoots him. After he kills him, he sees the son of the man who just watched protagonist kill his father. The man killed was Lyle Morgan and the son was Arthur. Arthur runs away and we don’t see him for a while. Lawman stuff goes on for a few years but he starts doubting his teacher, the sheriff. Eventually the sheriff kills and innocent child or whatever, and the protagonist and him get into a fight, almost killing each other. When protagonist escapes (he wins the fight and shoots the sheriff in the leg or something, buy law sees it and chooses the side of the sheriff.) he hides and eventually goes back home, where his mother and his sister are dead. Note on the table says something in lines of “this is payback” he immediately thinks of the son of the man he killed. And tries hard finding him, just before he kills Arthur, the law finds the protagonist, and arrests him. A while later in prison do note, this is around 1877 or 1878, protagonist is waiting for death sentence, sheriff comes up and confesses to killing his mother and sister, and now he is going to enjoy seeing the protagonist hang. Night before hanging, prison wall explodes with dynamite, big hole so multiple could escape the prison with on the other side as the jailbreakers Dutch, Hosea and young Arthur. They are not there to break the protagonist out but some other member of the newly formed gang. They do still help you get out of prison, Arthur is conflicted and eventually tries to shoot protagonist but Dutch stops him. Protagonist doesn’t join gang and they split ways. For the rest idk what could come after but i’d like for the protagonist to meet a few other gang members before they actually join the gang. Like Bill, Uncle and idk what more. Eventually he would join the gang for a while and get close to Arthur and the gang. Idk how the game would end. This is my idea so yeah, it’d be fun.

i havent watched the video yet but what about a young lawman that has a couple of friends and then they turn in to some sorts of villians and create a small gang and rob much and kill the other sherrifs and then they die of a hanging. And they then redeem themselves when the main character dies so in the epilogue we can find them maybe becoming sheriffs again. And if a side character dies they go and torture him and kill him like colm o'driscoll in chapter 3 (but he didnt kill him) (comment for more ideas into this lawman villian concept!) (if u had a stroke reading this i can change if u just reply) i would also love a feature of emoting like flipping someone off

They should make bounties more of a process. Instead of picking up a poster and just riding out somewhere outside of town, you would ride out and find that they'd left recently, and you have to track them down to their next stop, maybe you catch up to them but they give you the slip, maybe even after you catch them. Maybe you have to ask around to find out where they went. Maybe you encounter other bounty hunters and you could choose to kill them or hinder their progress or even team up and split the bounty. Maybe if you wait to bag a bounty it goes up but the criminal becomes deadlier.

(Long comment alert) I definitely believe the next game will be a prequel because Rockstar is clearly learning from their mistakes with 1 and trying to connect the prequel better with the previous game. Not only have they set up multiple characters and the blackwater massacre that kills them before the events of 2 (like why else do they wanna tell us these characters existence if they're just names mentioned a few times), they've been dropping hints to a secret gang member and even the reason he isn't mentioned by the gang through most of the game. Think about this, in 1 random scene Arthur remarks to Tilly that they don't like killing gang members in camp "except that one time, but he was a traitor" and when Susan kills Molly she reinstates to Arthur "you knew the rules for traitors". My conclusion is that this game will take place before the blackwater massacre and star a brand new character, who ends up dying by "ratting" the gang out and getting killed for it, but in reality was just trying to get the Pinkertons on Dutch and let everyone else go because he caught on sooner that he was crazy. Arthur would know this or at least like the guy before he gets killed which contextualizes why he is afraid of going against Dutch in early parts of the story. And would even contextualize why Milton was so willing to only get Dutch before the gang asserted their position with him. I could be wrong and they'll take it in a completely different direction; but I'm not just saying this cause I'm pulling it out of my ass, I think they want us to go back to 2 if they make the game I'm imagining and realize they were foreshadowing a lot of things the whole time.

Great video! I kept getting swept away by Ennio Morricone's incredible music... there will truly never be another. I'm glad rockstar has honored so many of his/Sergio's movies in their games. I agree a hang em high or Josie Wales or even pale rider style arc would be sick. The lawman/vigilante arc could be incredibly compelling. I think if they can really capture all the weird morally grey political crap and the money grubbing schemes, they can slowly unveil it in a way that makes for a surprise reveal that folks who have been trying to play the straight and narrow lawman, have actually been a tool of the system. The timing and specific activities involved in your turn should impact how you're seen by locals, fellow agents, and victims of the corrupt system. Opposing it in the wrong way can still make you a monster, and carrying it out blindly with your hand on the bible might be worse still. It would be interesting to see how they would sew little seeds of doubt throughout the game.

Eyo just for reference The bandana works to conceal your identity only if you have no preexisting bounty. If you do got a bounty, I think the idea is that people start recognizing you and youll get Wanted: Arthur Morgan and once you run away, a bigger bounty. If you got no bounty then you can shoot someone in the head run away, wait three minutes a repeat for as long as you want without getting a bounty.
