for any concerns about UV protection (prevent discoloration over time), this method will work, but one also needs to add some UV protective wax or ceramic UV sealant AFTER the crystal clear HAS CURED. the product rustoleum crystal clear used in this video has limited UV protection. It is more or less a durable hard shell, but not the same as a automotive UV clear...factory headlights have a coating that has a UV clear, and obviously that degrades over time. So to restore you have to think about this in the same way that factory manufacturers headlights are produced. There is a hard shell with a UV component. So when you restore, the hard shell is restored, but then you will need to give it a UV coating to help produce a long lasting shell that will not fade and discolor over time. There are various top coatings that will do this. Look for a standard auto wax that has a UV component...almost all of them do. I would NOT use a cleaner wax...this has a fine abrasive...Some have good results with ceramic sealants that isn't really a wax per se but a longer lasting coating that produces a harder shell than conventional wax. I have used mothers ceramic spay wax ...it's easy..it does not leave a color film..and ii has a UV component. Like all auto body "waxes" headlights are no different. It's a maintenance item: you will need to clean it periodically and apply new "wax". This more than anything preserves the headlight to a clear finish that will last. For those who live in areas where road salt in the winter is a common element, this finish wax maintenance needs to be done far more often. And of course, parking outside in the elements is going to degrade faster than a car that is garaged. The best rule of thumb is not allow the headlight to begin to fade...preventing that from happening is a task that might involve simply making it a once every two months task...something like that. Where you clean the headlight and apply a UV wax or sealant.

The RX450H factory tow-prep package is Lexus option "TO". It has 3 components: (i) upgraded radiator fans; (ii) adds a transmission oil cooler; and (iii) adds a trailer light wiring plug (brake, turn and running lights) up under the left rear side. Using a hitch for a bike rack or platform carrier is one thing. But without option "TO" pulling a trailer (without the upgraded radiator fans and transmission oil cooler) is an entirely different matter. Without option "TO" you pull a trailer at your own risk. That is why some dealers refuse to install a hitch on RX models without factory tow-prep option "TO".

NEED ADVICE!!! Plz real this quick story down below to help me! So I just purchased a barley used 2018 Nissan Rogue. The car is pretty much mint but my OCD could help but notice some slight fog on my headlights. So as I stopped by a quickcheck on my way home I seen an AutoZone and realized this is a perfect time to get a Headlight restorer. So the man their recommended the “ 🐢 Turtle Wax: Headlight Lens Restorer kit” that from my reach before hand was always either number 1 or in the top 3 of best headlight restorers. So after thinking this was all I need. He INSISTED I but “Rust-oleum Acrylic Enamel 2x Coverage Paint+Primer Automotive Grade Clear Gloss” to put on after I used the 2 basic coat and Cleansing wipes it comes with to make my headlights be clear for up to 2 years! He also made sure to tell me that it’s important to skip using the spray lubricant it comes with idk why. So, I will post an Amazon the link to the product I bought and plz lmk if this spray is not only even necessary but a good product that won’t ruins my car if I do the same steps you did in your tutorial. I did this almost 2 years ago with the Rustoleum 2x UV resist, and had some minor crazing. After letting it harden for a couple of months, some wet sanding and polishing improved matters. While most of the lenses still look good and vision is excellent, the paint is starting to flake off on the top surface. Previous to this, I had tried a rather expensive headlamp coating spray formulated to be cured with UV lights. That lasted less than a year and didn't look as good as Rustoleum. Next time, I'm trying 3M's or Sylyainia's UV sealant.

Ya what the other guy said and you are probably better off not going that high in grit sand paper like 1000 is about what I am thinking but definitely needs to be cleaned with alcohol before painting and I think 2k clear is probably the play if it's worth it to you and or you have enough to paint before like $25 for a can that will mostly go bad is not ideal I just did mine and was wet sanding like 3 or 4 days later and cleaning with alcohol and the paint just gummed up and came off I was using the Rust-Oleum universal clear so I don't know it probably would have been fine if I didn't use the alcohol but still
