I use a Lenovo, all I had to do was shut down my laptop and then press the power and volume up button, THAT'S IT!!, it switched on and I now have audio..... you saved me😘😘😘

Thank you so much and all I had to do was shut it down and I help the power and volume but it didn’t turn on it would keep shutting down again but the I just kept holding on to the volume and then pushed the power button and let go and the screen u showed didn’t pop up it just worked on it’s own but thank you soooooo much it worked

My power button and volume up are not where yours are. Mine are on the keyboard. When I push those buttons, it just turns on, takes me to the initial screen where I log on. No screen with Surface.

Dear friends, the best way I foud to this issue is to contact Microsoft support and select call me back . Or select chat. There is a technician he will take our system remote and will clear the issue in minutes. I have wasted a full day searching for solutions in youtube which never worked for me. So this is the best possible way to do it as per my experience.

I didn't work on mine as my onboard audio was already on

hey so you know people only look this up when theres no sound working, right? so that means they can't hear any audio, like, for example, you explaining what to do... right? so maybe you should have subtitles? kind of thought that would be obvious considering why you made the video

@@U2binator Seems like a sure handy fix, but theres nothing in the system devices that has SST in it. The closest is an Intel(R) Managment Driver Interface. So as much as I would love to try, I cant really continue

Just need to boot into the UEFI menu for your device and there should be something similar to activate the sound. If you have an hp try this support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03801890

U2binator I got in touch with a technician and he had me back up to a restore point(the 10th, day of update). It was a big with the new Microsoft update but I haven’t had any luck with it and I am now trying another restore point (7th). Hopefully it works

@@genesis2220 I tried all that too, nothing worked, there's something in the firmware that isn't connecting to the software, that's why you have to get into the UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) menu
