Don't know the date but it looks a lot like the Plumb Lathing Hatchet in the 1927 catalog but also in the 1965 catalog, the 27 has USA under Plumb but the 65 doesn't, 65 calls it a lath hatchet and the 27 calls it lathing hatchet. As far as I know, the diameter of the wheels are about the same, but there are different thicknesses. I have two of them and I think they’re just a little bit different. Nice tutorial. I always find it gratifying replacing old screens.
Thank you. I find a lot of things gratifying when you do them yourself. There’s just something satisfying about it. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Great how-to video! I've done 1 or 2 in my day but it's great to see that we can do more to show the younger people on being more self reliant! Today and this weekend is moving day so see you next time😅
I agree with you. There’s a lot of things that we can do ourselves instead of just throwing it away and buying a new one or paying somebody else to do it. I hope your move goes well and we’ll see you next time.
That was a good demonstration. Thanks
Thank you for the visit. Hope you have a great weekend and see you next time.
Very informative. Excellent step by step. Thanks for showing. 🙂👍
Thank you very much for visiting me here in the shop. Hope you have a great weekend.
Good instructional video. I may be mistaken but I’m pretty sure the beading is called spline.
Thank you. I also appreciate the information of what that bead is called. I did not see it anywhere on the package. I’ll have to take a closer look. Thanks so much and have a great weekend.
Next challenge. Find an old "wheel tool" and restore it. ❤
I have not come across too many of those. If I’m not mistaken 50 years ago, and before they would usually make the frames out of wood and use a cleat to fasten the screen to the wood frame. I will keep my eyes open for one though. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend.
Is there just one size wheel tool?
As far as I know, the diameter of the wheels are about the same, but there are different thicknesses. I have two of them and I think they’re just a little bit different. I think you can make do with them, and it may be whoever manufactured him has made them a little different size. The important thing is the bead that you put in the channel, that is worst size matters. Thanks for your visit and hope you have a great weekend.
Bonjour, je regarde de la France, très bon travail. J'admire votre mur remplit d'outils, ils sont vraiment superbes. ❤
Welcome to the channel. It’s always interesting to me to see who is watching and from where. Thanks for your visit and hope you have a great weekend.
My screens are Silver Plated, we have a lot of Werewolves around here and it's the only thing that keeps them out at night.
😀 sounds like you have a real problem. If silver screens are the solution go for it.😄 always appreciate your visit and hope you have a great weekend
Thanks for showing tips on doing a house hold chores
You bet. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.
Great show. I don’t know if everyone understands that Handyman jobs and Honey Do list are the same. LOL. Keep up the great work and great videos.
Thanks for the support and encouragement. I think you’re right, they are the same list most times. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend.
Thank you for fixing my screens!
Boy Howdy - your wall is Loaded Now Compared to a year ago! Nice work
Howdy to you too. Thank you for your kind words and if you have been gone for a whole year I’m glad you came back by. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend.
Very helpful ,on a side note I came across a Collins axe brand new for under 20.00 is it worth it?
I would have bought it if it was in good condition. If it needs fixed up, I hope you have fun doing it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. PS: I just noticed in your statement that you said it was brand new. If it’s made in the United States, then I would agree with my previous statement. Otherwise, I personally would keep an eye out for an old one. But I don’t think you’d be paying too much.
