    Nice finds ToolScouter! Thanks for taking us along and giving us a peak at the show--that was cool to watch and lots to look at and choose from there. Love the True Temper and that little brass tack hammer--those are gems!

    It is a lot of fun to visit. Anytime I find an axe with markings that I don’t have. It’s my excuse to get it. I compared it to the true temper. Kelly works that I have and they look exactly the same. Chances are the same company made both. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

    Great picks! Isn’t it cool how Stanley decorated the small saw/square level. I’ve never seen anything like that before.

    Thank you. It is great how they used to make the old tools so ornate. Nowadays they just acid wash or itch things with lasers. Thanks so much for your visit and hope you have a great week.

    Thanks for taking us along on the strawtown, pickins. You know I absolutely love that Bell System axe. Great find. The brass tackhammer is really cool, and the level on the square sounds like the most plausible use. Great video.

    Thanks for coming by. I do like that axe, the configuration is just like the true temper, Kelly works axe of the same weight. Maybe it was made by the same manufacture. I really do like that level. Thanks so much for your visit, I always enjoy your videos as well. Hope you have a great week.

    Very Cool Tack Hammer.............Yes Level onto a Framing Square or Steel Rule were the first things that jumped into my mind. Confirmed by looking in the catalog "Straight Edge Pocket Level" Usage Description - "Can Be Used On Any Straight Edge Or Carpenters' Square".

    I'm amazed at how many different types of tools have the Bell System logo. Good grab on that axe. Looking at the wall behind you, it surely was adopted by the right guy! Strawtown looked like a very good time. The tack hammer was very cool! Nice grab! 😀👍

    I like your idea of using that level on the square - that seems useful. Don't know if Stanley had a part number on it, maybe that would help identifiy it. It sure is nicely ornate. Guess it is cast? I wonder why the tack hammer would be brass since the striking surface is not brass? Usually brass is to reduce marring or sparks. I like the Bell System axe and the hatchet loks good. Some good times picking. NOTE: saw on eBay "Vintage Stanley No. 41 Pocket Level Attaches to Square, New Britain Conn."

    It was a lot of fun stuff to pick up. The level does not have a number on it but yes, it is cast. Sounds like you enjoy tools as much as I do. Thank you so much for coming by the shop for a visit. Have a great week.

    Hi, so your latest special double spirit level could also be, as you said, for positioning machines, but actually I think it's also for the perfect vertical position of a post in the yard, for example. But like I said, it's just a guess on my part.

  • @toolscouter

    @toolscouter

    Ай бұрын

    Great guess. I can see it being used for that. You’d have to make sure your cut of the tub was perfectly square and you’d have to be able to see the top of it. Tall post might be a problem. I like the way you’re thinking though and appreciate you stopping by and sharing. Have a great week.
