Ive always loved the way burnishing wood looks and brings out the grain. I do it to every tool i own that has a wooden handle. It also hardens the wood and makes it more rot resistant.

Wishing everyone here a great day in whatever you all will be doing. My brothers have been posting pictures of Dad In uniform in our texts. Yeah , loved ones that have gone. As I get older I get the ‘temporary’ of this life… Thinking about all those young men going off to war , if ,after they did come back, never the same. My dad didn’t get on the battlefield . (served in Germany during the Korea conflict) Both Mom n dad had 9 other siblings.. there were a few quiet men in that bunch that seemed to ‘hang out’ at VFWS. After work … regular . Two uncles that lived near us. The children ( cousins ) had a different home life than us. My dad came home every day after work . When I think about sowing seeds … good seeds … cause-and-effect. What we leave this world. I appreciate you, Kevin, and what you’re passing on .

Hey Knife Dr. I have a question for you - why don't you soak your knives in minerial oil instead of brushing it on? I soak all (even new knives) in a tube of mineral oil and let it sit there for a few hours. It helps with all wood and bone handles and protects all the metal inside and out. Soaking it allows the covers to really suck up the oil and I can really tell the difference. thanks for answering this if you would.later
