I was looking to purchase this Arken Zulus, BUT, after taking advice from several people/business's I wont be buying one. Due to issues around the clarity of the picture which I am advised IS quite poor & build quality !!!!!
The Image on the Arken Zulus is good to be fair, excellent in daytime and good at night with the right IR.
Is this a thermal binocular?
Yes it does have a thermal channel, although a low resolution 256px model.
Great footage Ian, I bought the alpex 4k back along from you, and its great. Tempted by one of these too for a lighter more compact option, possibly put the alpex on a rimfre and run this on a heavier 243 to bring the overall weights more inline. Likewise they could be swapped about. For woodland stalking and bit of open field foxing would you recommend the lower mag 3-12 over the 5-20 as the best overall? Bit like the lower mag thermal spotter seems to be best overall for versatility. Thanks. Steve
i just got the this, i have gone from the 1st gen where you press menu and LRF button to record. How do i record on theis model?
Long press the menu button
Thanks for the video. When the hare was sitting what was the estimated range. I was going to be reviewing one of these Zulus but the guy never sent it even though I bought a mount especially for it. Currently using a Pard DS35 70 LRF Gen 2 & the ATN 4K PRO 3-14 & it's been an interesting comparison 🙂
Im not that familiar with the duel eye display .Does it mean with thermal you see it only on 1 side or 1 eye and you see optical through the other eye ?
Both eye displays show the same channel meaning if you have the optical channel activated, this is displayed on both eye displays and vice versa for the thermal channel . The benefit of a dual display is an immersive viewing experience and reduced eye fatigue that can be a problem with extended viewing from a single display setup .
@blackwoodoutdoors makes sense thank you 🙏
Would love to see some low light footage. What range will you get with the IR ?
The IR is only really good out to 100yds , it will work beyond this but the image drops off. For the best image at night at longer ranges and external IR can be added to the tripod mount located at the base of the unit .
Update new UK price announced at £1199.99 www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/product/hikmicro-habrok-4k-he25l-multi-spectral-thermal-binoculars/
They are very good for the price in fairness
£1199.95 is peanuts these days for a product with all the features built into these .
@@blackwoodoutdoors so true.
Is that the standard ir that comes with the scope it’s excellent image quality
What was the distance?
what brand/kind of mount is that ?
Hi Ian, what was the range?
Nice work on the red skin 🦊💥👍
Why such a loud intro ?
I don't see infrared lights Is it an add-on device?
❤❤❤❤❤
Great review
Well done pal
wish i could buy one somewhere in the uk
Nice one Ian 👍
FAC ? It’s hitting them hard 👍🏻 not a fan of that reticle though can you use different reticles and change their colour?
Excellent
Nice shooting. Zulus looks pretty good. Your Impact running on low ft.lbs for the rats by the look of it. I've watched your rabbit video with the Impact also, trying to work out what MOA mount I'd need if I put one of these on a Dreamline running around 850fps, 30 ft.lbs with inbuilt 20 MOA rail. I've noticed your reticle is a bit lower on this video compared with the rabbit one. Do you know your y values for each setup you use, rabbits/rats?
I keep a little notebook in my gun bag and write the X / Y etc values for each ammo / rifle type, as I swap my sight between several guns. It would be handy if video posters stated what their zero ranges were, along with gun details etc..
Hello! In daytime mode, how can you determine where the distance meter measures? You can see the laser light in night mode, but during the day? The Pard telescope displays a cube on the screen, which makes the location of the measurement clear. Is there a way to zeroing the LRF?
The Zulus shows this aim mark also.

Nice digital scope!
Thanks!

Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent shots thanks for sharing
Thanking you !
Great stuff fellas. What additional IR was you using? Noticed it was being shon beside you at one point...
On that short section, that was the IR from a Mk1 Pard DS35 70RF
WOW 💪 literally the best example of this scope in action!! Put simply, a clinical masters class 👏 very nice shooting indeed 👍 My bro brought a Zulus from you and its incredible, safe to say i won't be far behind him 👌 and when I'm ready to pull the trigger I'll definitely be getting it from you bud 👍👍 atb
Awesome many thanks, glad he's happy with it !
Thanks for the kind words
Great shooting - how many ft.lbs is your M3 delivering, and what ammo are you using ?
Hello it’s doing 960fps using the best ammo H&N 36gr slugs .
@@blackwoodoutdoors Cheers -thanks for answering - you're obviously finding the ballistic calculator works perfectly ? Getting rabbit headshots at nearly 100yds is insane - is the Zulus doing that consistently ?
@@wolfysmith4752 Sorry in this Rat shooting video I actually had an FX Royal out with me and in a rush , I had an Alpex 4K fitted to innomounts and I had lowered the power, checked zero and the magazine was hitting the scope as I had used medium mounts and the Roal magazine protrudes a lot, this combined with the lower power not grouping great. I decided rather than waste time to use the Impact M3 , I had with me, so dropped the power to 20ft lb using .25 Hades and setup a different profile on the Zulus... In all honesty , I wasn't happy with the group/knockdown... you would think a. .25 knockdown would be great even at 20ft lb but it seemed too low and not great, I later tuned the gun to 30ft lb using the Hades and single hole groups, plus much better knockdown.... but way over what is required... back to 12ft lb .22 next time..
Nicely done done Ian great shooting mate 👍
Cheers Jim
Exellent shooting mate
Cheers Neil
Crosshair blurred on the zulus and if thats not clear on the view given on here, now both crosshairs clear, its a better comparison, Ir looks like its running wide (zulus) and other more on pencil beam. Same mag/focus/beam set. Then it shows the difference. Near 20years looking in nv units, So can see there not set on a equal start,
Cross hair is blurred on both if you zoom in, due to any video compression , they are both at 1080p . You cannot make a digitally rendered cross hair or icon that are recorded blurry , . Yes you can adjust a diopter for your own eye, but that does not affect recorded output at all ..
Nice share ❤
Enjoy the vids, what pcp ur using, cal ?, pellet or slug?, gr wt? velocity? Just curious since ur shooting around 100yds...
According to the title your using the Arken Zulus LRF version, its a pity that the range finding option IS NOT displayed against each target ! Most other LRF capable equipment (HiK Alpex) for one, do exhibit & show the range of each target. Was this an intentional error or was the equipment not as described in the header ?
Some distances are shown. On some shots I used the spotter LRF and held over using the mildot reticule..
What IR power setting were you using??
These are single mode to prevent any messing on, simple on/off.
@blackwoodoutdoors I thought the Arken Zulus 5 x 20 Lrf were a 5 power stage IR???
@@Gazzyb2071 I was using our own external IR night blaster torch.
Ensure youtube quality setting cog is set at 1080P
Great vid, what gun you using mate?
great video and shooting, why are your crosshairs sometimes green and off centre though? cheers!
The green crosshair is the ballistic marker aim point.
What ir are you using mate ?

no ones gonna mention that big cat @5:04..?
Big black farm cat !
Strange is like one of those Quechua tent videos music, but why no night shots ? Ooh someone forgot that it’s a night vision camera too!
