HikMicro Alpex 4K A50EL vs Alpex A50T darkness only streetlight in colour mode.

Take a look at the two Alpex models in darkness with only streetlight whilst still running in colour mode. The new Alpex 4K provides a much wider field of view and better long range detail.

Side by side comparison between the Arken Zulus and Alpex 4K would be great to see

Seems to me the new unit is using more edge enhancement than the old which helps make the image look sharper. And the old is more light sensitive. Does the new unit actually record in 4K? If so, are you able to upload in 4K? Check out the chimney in the house at the rear, the new unit shows it's outlined/edge enhanced more than the old unit, which will make it look better. If you check out the part where both units are zoomed to 7x and then refocused, the focus on the old alpex is better at 2:26 than when refocused, can read the number plate on the blue car better at 2:26 than at 2:50. But I agree, the new unit does have more detail in the brighter areas. It will be interesting to see how it goes in night mode with little light available, the old might be better?

There would not be any reason whatsoever to upgrade with only the minutest difference in sharpness..what are you using them for shooting or making a Hollywood film

The ballistic calculator is a big appeal to a lot of people...

To be honest it’s all bullshit consumerism. I have a A50T is awesome for what it’s intended for, vermin control at night. You don’t need a range finder or ballistic calculator on a .22 centerfire for fox control at night, they are flat to 250 meters. Anyone shooting past that range at night is a fool. The scopes are no where near good enough against even the most basic optics for deer stalking in the day time. If you have the money and want the latest tech then rock on. But let’s be honest another one will be out next year..

Thats why the basic Alpex 4K without rangefinder is now £699.95. Why have you got an A50T then ? You state it's awesome. So if you were buying a new product you would go for the Alpex 4K as it's better... Whats your point?

@@blackwoodoutdoors My point is. As previously stated that all this is just consumerism. Yes my alpex is awesome. So was my wraith hd. So is my pard 007. I’m sure the new alpex 4k is. But they all do a job and in my mind optical quality is no different. Main point is don’t sell it for something it’s not. It is not a day scope in the slightest. The image in the day is terrible especially on zoom.
