  I think the devs should have had 3 modes for attacks: Slash, Stab, Smash. Every weapon can use every attack, but depending on the wielded weapon, the npc would heavily favor one type over others Slash is for most bladed weapons, like swords and axes. Moderately quick, light-force attacks using wider arcs and a very notable "cutting" motion Stab is for most thrusting weapons, like daggers and rapiers. Fast thrusts and direct attacks that can be chained together easily and trip the player up Smash is for most blunt weapons, like maces and shields. Slow, heavy attacks aimed at just smacking hard, with little regard for technique Each weapon can use the attacks with a different split. Some ideas: Short Swords: 50/40/10 Slash/Stab/Smash Regular Swords: 60/30/10 Slash/Stab/Smash Long Swords: 80/10/10 Slash/Stab/Smash Axes: 70/30 Slash/Smash Daggers/Rapiers: 90/10 Stab/Slash Maces: 100 Smash would make for much more engaging fights with enemies and make it feel like they're actually enemies wielding weapons, instead of just bots swinging around [Held Weapon] with the same animations for Rapiers, Axes, Maces, and Longswords
