That wasn't a big 'go fuck yourself' speech, but that last 'surround yourself with people like her' was more devestating to Firecracker and Homelander than anything else could be in that moment.
She is a super smart black woman in a super woke show. She is going to save the day in the last episode and it will be revealed that she was never working with Homelander but against him from the beginning. Ok, I'm not 100% sure, but it would make sense.

I have faith in this show, to be smart and put good writing above all else. It has always had woke elements, but for the most part handled them faaar better than most other media, so it was actually watchable in the first few seasons. This season has been pushing it a little far, but it was ALWAYS a woke show, just a good woke show. Hard as it is to believe, that is possible

@jairusjackson7799 Yes. Tbh episode 4 and 5 were really good 6 was godawful and with the creator saying a man getting SAd actually made me angry however episode 7 has been very good. However they can't afford a shit finale like season 3 because despite the bad finale season 3 was actually perfect In all episodes even the finale until the fight scene. This season has been a mixed bag so far and with the finale being shit the shows reputation will take a huge hit
I think that her weakness is not being listened to, like when she had her grandmother's cure for cancer and the doctor's just laughed and didn't listen.
Someone being direct or insulting to her fcks her up. I think she's emotional too on some level. Honestly her character doesn't have a good ending i think

I knew that she would not last long. If he cant control his massive ego even with his son, he never would have the maturity to do it with a woman 1000 times smarter than him. Kinda thought that she would use that massive brain to analyse and create some form of defend herself against him though, but maybe she just dont give a shit.
I knew it too but I expected more, I did not expect her to leave Homelander alive.

All her genius is using basic intelligence techniques. I really dislike this character. Nothing about her feels like she is the smartest person alive. She was supposed to smth like Dr. Manhattan. I mean that level of non-participation. And her knowing everything about Homelander from a single glimpse, doesn’t feel like deduction either, more like: “Oh I accidentally looked through the script”
That's what happens when you try to write a smart character while not being very bright yourself. The writers are limited by their own intellectual capabilities which is why this character is not at all compelling.

Although I guess Sage was referring to the fact that even though his ego doesn't make him very smart. He just ends up being himself, or being Ryan. Because Ryan has been better at finding a way to not rely on resentment. And homelander behaves like a child. Being in the body of a man. Because of their traumas.
Pretty dumb move on homlander's part (what a surprise) Now, she can possibly defect to the other side and play a massive role in his inevitable demise. I doubt this is the last we'll see of her..
Anyway Sage was a threat for Homelander, i mean she used everyone. I believe she has some backup plan in this case, shes too smart for the seven.

Yeah not sure how I feel about that. And Sage really didn't feel like that smart of a character(somebody like Hannibal Lecter) I feel like they are going to just do that and say everything that happened was part of her plan.

This has been a common theme through out the show. Homelander doesn’t outright kill people who aren’t afraid of him/he respects. He could’ve easily killed butcher,stan, the scientist lady, and now Sage
Homelander doesn’t kill people who aren’t afraid to speak their mind about him, it’s a sense of admiration from the fact that everyone around him fears him so that they put on a facade so he isn’t getting the real version of them

I believe very strongly that Sage is using the Emperor Palpatine playbook. She's playing chess with herself. Not everything has gone perfectly, but it's good enough. Since arriving she has successfully tested everyone and she's observed them all long enough to know what everyone will do. I think a lot of her reactions are also her "acting" like she knew Homelander would send Deep and Noir after Butcher and Homelander firing her. She already knew she'd be fired soon and is again "acting" hurt about it. She just acts surprised to throw people off. Her plan is still in play due to the shapeshifter and Annie being chained up.

Nah I feel like she was always setting it up to take down both homelander and vought. I have 2 reasons why I believe this. 1st. Outing a train immediately would’ve been a blow to the boys as he’s their only informant deep enough in homelander’s circle and was an integral part of the boy’s plans. If he was outed immediately, then a train wouldn’t have been able to help the boys during the tek knight infiltration and the office fight. No way sage didn’t already anticipate everything a train did. 2nd. She could have easily screamed for help during the tek knight infiltration. She knew there wasn’t any risk of her dying as her brain would regenerate after a couple of hours. Why would she be afraid of a gun knowing that MM would shoot her head? There’s probably more instances of which sage was knowingly helping the boys indirectly but these 2 are the only ones I can remember on the top of my head. Though, I don’t think she’s working with the boys necessarily. I think she’s playing her own game to take down both vought and homelander. But in a more discreet manner compared to the boys.

The crack in Sages voice when she said "You promise you would listen to me" hurt. Between doctors not listening to her to save her grandmother to the Teenage kicks kicking her out because "she didn't know when to close her mouth". Yes she has an ego, but she always been in positions where people with larger egos could dismiss her because she knows more than them. Much like eveyone else in the show, her history keep repeating herself.

Yeah it is a constant tragedy for her character to be dismissed by ppl with positions of power to assert egos without deserving it with her being the literal smartest person in the world and only one of which could probably deserve the ego they have since she backs it up. Simply becomes a display of ironic torture since she’s constantly being told and directed by others who aren’t able to step down from their unjustified egos and listen to her. Fascinating character really hope it’s not the end for her.
