You are correct in your observation, particularly number 5. Shane could often put four changes of direction on the same ball. Straight towards the wicket, then towards the top of the flight of the ball, it would drift normally away from the right hander. Then at the top of the balls flight, it would dip sharply towards the pitch, making it difficult for the batsman to know where the ball will land on the pitch. Then once the ball grips the pitch, it would spin violently towards the wickets, sometimes as much as two feet or more. It will be two hundred years before we see the likes of him again. RIP SKW🙏

Baseball is like cricket for babies,i think no sports is as hard as cricket,lawn tennis comes near but other than that no sports comes near to cricket in terms of hardness,people have died playing,imagine a leather ball travelling at 60-100 mph,and than staying on the pitch for average 5 hours and not just standing,you have to run all along the field,batting and bowling both are as hard as they can be,bowler takes rest after doing an over,but batsmen continues to bat with heavy protective gears and than running on the pitch wearing all those,man its tough

You spin it one way because otherwise the batsman would easily guess it from your hand. It is the subtle changes in the grip that are near impossible to see in real time. Plus he is leg spinner. Off spinners are different bowlers.

A right-handed legspin ( or more pertinently 'wrist-spinner') spins the ball by rotating the wrist and the default ball spins from right to left. The spin is imparted by the wrist not the fingers and the ball comes out of the back of the hand not the the front as with a legitimate finger spinner. . It's difficult to explain but obvious when looked at, that if the bowler 'over-rotates' the hand instead of the ball pointing to the offside it is pointing to the 'on' or 'legside'. That means the ball will spin that way IF it 'grips' on the pitch. You do need to take on board the terms 'off', and 'on or leg' to denote the two halves of the cricket field from the perspective of the bowler and batsmen. The other obvious difference is that the cricket ball usually bounces so it is 'more three dimensional' than baseball pitching. A ball can move laterally in the flight one way (Away from the rotation of the ball) then bounce and go the other way with the direction of rotation; the rotation of the ball can also make the ball bounce a bit further up the pitch or closer to the bowler.

Bowlers designated as "finger spinners' are either . right-handed offspinners or a left-handed orthodox spinners. They rotate the ball with the index finger and middle finger so an 'offie' spins it from left to right from their perspective whilst the left-armer spins it from right to left with their stock deliveries. Doosras are a way for them to spin the ball in the opposite directions but after being the 'king of the spin bowlers' for a few years in the 'noughties' it was revealed by technology (close up and slowmo cameras and laboratory equipment that it is almost always an illegal delivery within the laws of cricket because of the degree of flex in the arm. .

Off Spinners are Finger Spinners, a righty spins the ball to the right & a lefty (aka Orthodox Spinner) spins the ball to the left. 10:00 Googly is the Ball spinning the opposite direction as the regular Leg Spin. So, righty Leg Spinner spins the Ball to the left but the Googly is supposed to Spin to the right while looking like it'll go to its usual left direction. In this clip the Googly didn't spun that much so you couldn't spot that.

Even in Cricket that's how Bowling used to be. The game whatever number of centuries ago started had Bowling just like Pin Bowling 🎳 or Lawn Bowls. Cricket has gone through a long cycle of evolution, the Bat you see now wasn't the same centuries ago when it was much more similar to Hockey or even Ice Hockey Stick. As the shape of Bat changed it became more difficult to get Batsmen Out & hence Bowlers too changed their style of Bowling. First they were simply rolling the Balls on the ground, then they started bouncing it a bit in the usual Under Arm style, then as time went by Bowlers slowly started to bring their arms slightly up to get extra bounce. I fully agree with you. Floor is the greatest singer of all times. By far. The fact is, you can have a perfect voice and technique. Lots of people have that. But to pump emotions into the hearts of innocent listeners like that? She not only sings a song, she lives and performs a song. It's her looks, her gestures, her total performance.
