Increase the rink size, fewer teams, discourage puck dumping, encourage more passing and playmaking might improve the flow of the game & more scoring.

If something feels wrong trust your instincts.. It is mathematically impossible a Canadian team has not won the Cup in 32 years. So the NHL is rigged the question becomes how badly

But…… if a big team has MORE penalty calls AGAINST them in the playoffs…. That’s not a pro-big-market-wins game plan… NYR had more and the other two had more the previous two seasons (not this season). Which you did say.

I’m not saying that the USA Canada game wasn’t a great come back and effort but they had an obvious advantage on that powerplay

How much of it is due to the absolute destruction of defense? The true defensive dman doesn't exist anymore, breaking records when the guys in front are not taught or allowed to play the same way as before isn't really the same.

Totally disagreement with your look of Quebec getting an nhl team. You just showed that canadian teams make money no matter what. So let's put a team in Atlanta again for the 4th time and have to move them again after people don't go to games. Or a prime example of a failed attempt to expand in the US is the Phoenix team. They could not make money at all. The league bails them out and rest of the teams end up paying for them till finally they are moving to Utah. These american expansions are not what the league needs. Another 2 to 3 teams in Canada will make far more money than Phoenix or Atlanta or Utah. Your own research shows Canadian teams make more money so to me that makes more business sense. Bettman will not allow a team in canada or the cup. He needs to go

Such a shame, wish that Canada’s original teams like the Hamilton Tigers, Montreal Maroons etc stayed around since it would’ve been much harder to relocate a team with a long history

This has became obvious after the latest Stanley Cup finals of Florida Panthers winning the cup over Edmonton’s Oilers, a team that was struggling hard in garnering traction financially with attendance and merchandise movement. Giving them the cup has been a bomb with nobody giving a shit about it, the team even bringing it out in public to parade it with getting no attention. If it were where it should have been in Edmonton with Oilers getting the cup then it be perfectly fine and be a better outcome then what they went with, but with how financially well Oilers have been, especially in recent years, it makes sense why they went with Panthers instead of Oilers.

Sports in general is sickening how greed & false promises have blinded people. I am Canadian 53 years old. I grew up playing hockey & baseball … Just like most other kids. I was a good hockey player. Played Junior A in h Nova Scotia. However I was a late bloomer in baseball & offered a scholarship to a Junior College in the US. After my second year, I had several scholarships on the table from Div 1 schools for my last 2 college years. I walked away from the offers , as I was drafted & decided to turn pro. Spent 7 years in the minor leagues & decided it was time to walk away from baseball & start a career. Fast forward to the present. I have 2 sons - one playing baseball at a Power 5 D1 school, the other is headed to a Junior College in The fall. Luckily, I knew the game & didn’t fall into the money trap. But I watched so many people fall for it. I tried so many times to help them but the follow the pack instinct is just too much. Out of parent group of 30 , ( not including myself) there was a total of 1 baseball scholarship handed out. All that $$ - wasted

Let’s not go crazy here folks. I’ve been hearing about the big bad Stars and stripes taking over the world of hockey for how many years now? 1980? Nope didn’t happen. First American drafted first overall? Nope didn’t happen then either. How about after USA won first world juniors? No no Dynasty there either. There is no question hockey has become Stronger internationally every year. In certain countries… Including the United States have had periods of a few years where they’ve put together teams that have medalled. But I’ve yet to see anyone come close to Canada at their best when the runs of five years straight gold medals. I don’t think we ever will again… The Parody is just too close. Canada In 10 years… 20 years… Will be exactly where they are right now. One of the top programs in the world but what separates Canada is the depth of the talent pool. Realistically, Canada could pick five different teams and each one of them very well win gold at the world juniors. No other country could even come close to this.

Uncles been sayin this for years. Makes sense. Refs must be a secret society or something, they all have a boss they have to listen to. cater to the money making teams. Only american teams have won the cup in 30 years. what are odds best players are canadian but lose 33 playoffs in a row lol statisticly 1 canadian team should of been won by now with salary cap.

I don’t know why Bettman keep putting a team in some city who has no interest in them. Just bring hockey back to Canada where the seats are always full regardless of team’s performances. It’s like having to decide if you want to buy an American car or a foreign car, which one will last A LOT LONGER, I emphasized on that! Oh and btw I’m from Ontario and TmL fans indeed are the most annoying. Hope Ottawa gets a cup first!!!

The corporate heads of this organization have never known a thing about building a hockey team. Ballard was a hockey genius compared to these dummies in suits that sit on the board of MLSE. From gutting the team of talent right in the beginning of what could have been a dynasty from 94 onward, to cheaping out and refusing to spend from 98 to 01 when they were so close to winning a cup, to the disaster the post lockout season in 04, and now this completely botched and rushed rebuild after gettting Matthews.

It was very obvious that the league was fixed during the time the new franchises started up. Americans won’t take part in anything unless they are winning, it’s part of their country pride. If there’s even a hint that they won’t dominate they won’t watch or join. So once they got Gretzky over the boarder you will see a spike in American teams winning and I’d dare to say that those new franchises were winning as well.

It's rigged 100 % ! The last Canadian team who wins the cup was Montreal Canadiens in 1993 , in 1993 1/2 Bettman became President and everyone know how he hate Canada and want to keep money to us... So yeah 31 years withtout a cup in Canada ... Go look at all refery finals with a canadiens team and you will see ;)

When you continuously flood the country for over a decade with people from places that have only ever seen ice at the bottom of a drink glass, you sort of dilute your hockey fan base with a bunch of people who'd rather watch a soccer game or 'football match' if you will. That and nobody can afford to go to games anymore. Then you have two of the worst and most hated fan bases in the NHL (Canucks & Oilers) being from Canada. Yeah, it's kind of a mess up there...but being a former Calgarian, nothing brought more joy to me in hockey lately than tonight. Thank-you Florida for shutting up every Oilers fan for at least a couple of minutes. 😂

I mean the Panthers win 3 games in a row and then one more win wouldve ended the Cup series 3 games short so instead the Oilers wipe the floor with the Panthers in game 4, 5 and 6...... so that all 7 must be played which generates more money for the NHL and their sponsors/investors......

The game is getting less physical. The kids are being taught to hit less. If you dont have another player targeting you in attempt to crush you into the boards, of course youll be able find more space and score more.
