You need to grow a pumpkin that’s the size of the birds Khalifa

  • @lhyn2493

Are they still a kid or why does he play with a toy truck? That’s my favourite part there’s starting on Sunday Alice, then the girl into female and then the pollination and you don’t need to actually need you to put cans near it just leave it normally or you can make it into a save by adding a safe box. Don’t make it too small or else your pumpkin will break through it, or it will break itself and you need to cut it off or else it’s loose the pumpkin will break you

I've been growing pumpkins in my back yard for years, and no way they grow that fast per time lapse. Seeds in April and massive plant by end of May. Are you giving them special food?

It's mostly about the seed genetics and the soil prep. But there is also a lot of fertilizer involved in growing Giants.

Just out of curiousity, with all the effort, why are these giant pumpkins always grown on their side? Can't whatever engineering problems there are be overcome with cleverness? Wouldn't such a giant be worth more if it didn't look like a beached whale?

  • @mattradach306

This is the way they grow naturally. Some growers do try to grow them with the Stem on top but there are many issues with it. The blossom end opposite the stem are the thinnest part of the pumpkin and are susceptible to rot so we dont like to have them down in the dirt. Also if you grow it upright, the vine has to go up and over the top of the pumpkin so as a pumpkin grows it starts to put stress on the stem and can actually break the vine. Prize money and bragging rights are based solely on weight so you dont see many people going to the effort to grow one with the stem up. Some times I will grow them on their side and then tip them up on the end for display. If you look at my profile pic that's what I did with that one.

You can get dozens of pumpkins but we take them all off so that the energy of the plant all goes into one and makes it bigger.

So, with all the cold frame, your pumpkin is about 1 month and 14 days ahead of mine. So, my pumpkin shouldn't be too small this year. This is good enough for my own consumption for pumpkin meat and seeds for microgreens. And I have 3 pumpkin plants growing pretty ok. LOL

  • @trumplostlol3007

The cold frame makes it like 1.5 months ahead of my pumpkins here in zone 8. But I am satisfied with mine cause mine is 100% FREE. I use some half composted tree leaves, grass clipping, straw and dry quail manure to grow mine. :)
