  It’s typically because of air pockets in the finger holes. Try pouring in a little bit of your mold mixture and then tapping the container against a hard surface (table,floor) to release any air bubbles. Once you don’t see anymore big air bubbles, continue filling up your mold & once again tap it against a hard surface. Hope that helps!

  @anacastro7286 omg thank you! I even purchased a vibrator to help me out with air bubbles. Should I tip the cup upside down a few times? Just to be sure? Ong that makes so much sense. I knew omit had to be the way if was pouring it up. Gravity wouldn't make the stone go up into the curved fingers if I don't tip the cup over.

  You want to stick your cast to cloth? We're not sure how to advise you on that. It would depend on the weight of the cast and the type of fabric/frame.

  I have a question. My son Kayden died at 16 months old from childhood cancer and the nurses at Barbara Bush Children's Hospital casted his hands for me without my knowledge shortly before he died. I never knew they even did it let alone HOW they did it. So I don't know if it was ever sealed as you say or not. But! What I do know is that I was an idiot and never put them in some sort of display case and just had them displayed on his toy box, and since it's been almost 15 years since then, they're now quite yellowed and dirty. Is there anything I can do to clean them, or seal them, paint them whatever to make them look better without destroying them as they're literally all I have left of his little body? Please if you can help me, I would really appreciate it.

  We're so very sorry to hear about your little boy. We would suggest painting them with white fluid acrylic paint. 'Golden' is a professional brand that we would recommend. This won't cover the detail of his hands but will cover any dirt.

  Yes you can, but you can end up with unmixed powder in the bottom of the container if you do it that way round.

  We seal before we paint. Once the cast is completely dry, use diluted PVA glue - 1 part glue to 4 parts water.

  We'd suggest roughing up the base of your handcast (a cheese grater works) and then use a glue gun.
