  I was living in Rome in the late nineties and bought a number of W&LT pieces. Beautiful, unique and extremely different. I loved them immediately and continue to wear them to this day.

  Lulu Island is the name of the island south of Vancouver, where Lululemon was started. That region is home to the most Asian cities in North America, and on Lulu Island, Mandarin and Cantonese are the most common languages spoken on the street, in homes, on signs, etc. So yah, it was probably an inside joke. But considering that half his staff was probably Asian, I wouldn't call it racist, more just a silly joke
