My goal is to create an ultimate guide to the world of desserts.
I am a massive enthusiast of everything sweet for over thirty years now. A few years ago, I started a KZread channel called Time To Dessert, where I review cafes, bakeries, patisseries, and pretty much every possible place that offers some delicious desserts, mostly in London but also from our (with my wife) travels around the world.
All the reviews are highly subjective, and I am committed to honesty and transparency. I believe that eating too much sugar is not good. But what a life it would be if we couldn't indulge in some delicious desserts? I don't even want to imagine that.
I think the solution to this problem is: 'quality over quantity'. And I hope that my work will help you to pick only the best desserts out there!

We were at Fortnum and Mason Afternoon Tea yesterday while taking a holiday in the UK. This is a terrible place to spend your afternoon. The service is really very bad. As a tourist, this is my first time experiencing a horrible staff attitude.
I love this store. I hope to go to London soon.
I had these donuts (vanilla creme and chocolate creme) from St. John Bakery in Neals Yard two weeks ago. The donuts were bland (two bites and I threw them away) and the employees had an unpleasant / unfriendly attitude. Dunkin Donuts are better, and I hate Dunkin Donuts.

The Savoy is an experience in itself, afternoon tea is something to savour here. I would suggest you allow a little extra money and arrive in a black cab. The door staff are very attentive but so discreet too, they usually ask if you are staying but if not they will ensure you are seen by the staff and helped with your needs. The Savoy is never cheap but you can enjoy it irrespective of your means, the afternoon tea is probably the best in London and so you can rest assured it won’t disappoint you. The atmosphere is very friendly but discreet too. With the piano playing in the background it has a buzz all of its own. If you have the time after you have enjoyed the tea you can go and have a good look around the hotel and enjoy its charm. The decor is excellent and the cocktail lounge is worth a visit too. The small shop sells very good quality stuff at a reasonable price considering it’s right in the heart of London and an iconic place too. The rich and famous have been here before, it could be your turn too.
I had afternoon tea at the Savoy about 20 years ago and it was £30. It was a lo spy experience and they kept tipping up the sandwiches.
How much is afternoon tea @ Claridge's 2024 prices? probably £80 per head. I can replicate all of this at home from M&S for around £12

£3.50 for a donut?? You've been ripped off. The prices in 2024 are now £5-£6 EACH which is even more of a rip off!!!

It's not a Japanese creation. Soufflé pancakes were invented in Hawaii, by chef Nathan Tran in 2009, at Cream Pot restaurant in Waikiki. Japanese chefs stole his creation. Just FYI.
