"Is this a kid's movie?" Well... kinda. Although it was undoubtedly marketed to kids, it featured mostly cartoons from the 30s through the 50s, nothing particularly modern. It is essentially a remake of the movie Chinatown, but with cartoons. There's a lot of sexual innuendo and, as you point out, out and out murder-the death of R.K. Maroon in the studio is pretty dark. No wonder it was a PG rating.

Superb reaction! I'm so, so happy you're hooked on this show. It's really great television and they lucked out getting some solid child actors. They carry the show so well.

I'm sure someone in the comments must have mentioned those subtitles in your copy of the show. All I have to say about them is "Yeesh!" As for Avatar, if you start reacting, I'm here for it! Thanks Mary.

06:13 I once told my friend that my Dad died to mess/joke with him when I was like 9. He ended up telling his mom and his mom called my mom with her condolences about my father dying. My Mom was so pissed and I also found out that's not a thing to do lol 😅😐

Watch Cowboy Bebop. It's only 26 episodes and it's one of the best. The English dub is also incredible. You've GOT to watch it at some point on the channel.

Avatar The Last Airbender is an S tier Show i would absolutely recommend it in the same high regard as Fullmetal or Arcane; it's to the point that it is actually difficult to find someone that hasn't seen the whole thing and didn't love fall in love with the world of Avatar. Just know it's from a US animation studio so it's 1000% an all-ages kind of show it'll start of very kiddish but it's story and characters mature and the respect the writers give character development is just perfect. Biggest Recommend.

Avatar would be great, yeah. You already saw Arcane. Another fantastic one would be "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" and, if you can stomach it, "Attack on Titan" (though it is considerably more graphic than others you've watched, even if it's possibly the best).

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is rough going at times in the early episodes but it smooths out as the journey unfolds. As for other animated shows, Avatar is really good. And for anime, check out Cowboy Bebop and Inuyasha too. There are only 26 episodes of Cowboy Bebop. That's much easier to manage than the 167 episodes over 7 seasons of Inuyasha. Try the first season of Inuyasha maybe. Among the theatrical films, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Grave of the Fireflies. Grave of the Fireflies will leave you in tears. Turning back to television, Gurren Lagann, Now and Then, Here and There, Noein: To Your Other Self, FLCL (aka FOOLY COOLY)... Paranoia Agent, at 13 episodes, might prepare you a little for DeathNote. Monster, at 74 episodes, is a medical murder mystery cold war serial killer psychological thriller with a greatness that sneaks up on you later.

I recommend checking out a series called "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion." It's also relatively short and has a fantastic English dub. Giant robots, empires and politics, and a bit of high school drama as well.

Here's an interesting bit about the music. Hopper (Jim Hopper) plays Jim Croce's song "You Don't Mess Around With Jim," about a pool game, essentially. From Wikipedia. "The lyrics of the title track concern the fate of a 'pool-shooting son-of-a-gun' by the name of 'Big' Jim Walker when his 'mark', Willie 'Slim' McCoy, from South Alabama, shows up to get a refund from being hustled or get revenge." And don't tug on Superman's cape.

.. and now you must watch AngelA. Like this film it's in French with English subtitles .. it's in Black and White .. and it stars Jamel Debbouze, who played the grocers assistant in this Film. It's about a man who is about to commit suicide after one dreadful thing after another happens to him .. but, instead, he rescues a woman who jumps off the bridge before him, who turns out to be his xxxxxxxx xxxxx I won't spoil it for you , but the secret is in the title .. and it is a comedy.
