Hi, I'm Lindsey aka Wolfe Momma, Irish mom of 2.
In my last life (before motherhood) I was a video director but I had to leave the film world when I had a baby because it was too chaotic. I started my channel as a hobby, something to do that was creative, a bit of fun, and a way to connect with others.
My videos are mostly lifestyle, travel and parenting, along with reviews, tips & the daily struggles.
Thanks for checking out my channel and if you want to connect please feel free to contact me - [email protected], or follow me on Instagram - instagram.com/wolfemommablog

Loved it. You hit the nail right on the head. That’s from a yank who has been going to Ireland for over 40 years. Almost every year except for about 4-5 years, some years more than once.
You are a natural language teacher!! 🤩 Thank you so much these lessons. I’d love to see more of these! 💚 I know it’s a big ask…. Could you perhaps demystify Irish spelling and its pronounciation sometime? Thanks either way, you’re awesome!!!😎
"Desmond" never makes these lists.
My boxer’s name is Desmond! I now have name envy… wish I saved it for a future baby, god willing
Omg! Maybe it's a regional thing but I'm from the midwestern US and if someone did a first turn down of me offering to buy them something I would absoLUTEly offer again! Now if they made it clear they actually didn't want me to pay, I of course wouldn't force it. They have their reasons and I don't want to steamroll someone just to suit my own preferences. But we do the same thing up here -- a polite turn-down of an offer a time or two before accepting -- in case the person offering was just doing so because they felt they should (for whatever reason). I can't imagine being upset if someone declined, whether as part of an expected social interchange, or because they truly weren't interested. That's just wild.
I’ve seen the name Caer in a book. How is it pronounced? Thanks
I am Iris!
The best Guinness I ever tasted, J.J. Finan's 😀pub, Charlestown, County Mayo
Kimberley biscuits, you did not mention, the biscuit is soft, it was something amazed non Irish friends.😊
stop the lights ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
You are amazing at pronunciation ❤ I named my biy Sébastien could you do a video on it please and thank you
Absolutely LOVE this! I also find that 'translating' foreign words into an English approximation is helpful, so it was with some relief that I discovered you and saw that you were doing the same. It makes language learning so much easier to get into and much more of a joy to learn. So many videos whisk through and don't give newbies a foothold, so thanks for doing this. Also, your delivery is very clear and avoids unnecessary waffle. I'm eager to see if you've taken the same approach with your other videos. Thanks again. Yay!
I have very fond to visit ireland and learn there traditions and see their social work and write that experience in my own book.
So basically Irish slang is the slang from America from the 1920s
Your man is not entirely Irish it's quite common in the US from the Boomers
I love Irish people! I gotta come visit!
Not sure if "mo chuisle" would be everyday vernacular, always liked it though! As an aside, "sùgh mo chridhe" in Scots Gaelic is a term of endearment - meaning "sap of my heart" Gonna subscribe! Keen Scots Gaelic speaker from Scotland here!
How about,,come here" . That was confusing for me 😊
My name is Patricia and I always thought that was the feminine form of Patrick after St. Patrick who brought Christianity to Ireland. I was told that my father was 50% Irish and 50% British. He supposedly had two Irish grandparents who each fell in love with a British person and the families wouldn’t let them marry so they immigrated to America to marry the person they loved. Dad had a very common Irish last name.
The name Hallelujah is a name that has the same pronunciation in all the indiomas of the world.
"we" do NOT say "madras", please learn to speak Irish and use it properly instead of throwing random words into the English language, Irish people do not also just throw Irish words out in general conversation, you're making an absolute joke of our language, please don't make another video like this, anyone who wants to learn/understand the Irish language do not take this video as fact, "coolaboola" has no origins in the Irish language, "amadàn/fool is pronounced without the" a", it's madàn, a mhadàin, content is sona, satisfied is sàsa, ❤️ An Gaeilge, bùladh bos said no one ever, are you even Irish? Cà bhfuil do mheas don teanga/ where is your respect for the language?
You are so freaking awesome and talented!! I’m buying this asap. My 1.5 yo was just diagnosed with celiac. I love this book so much I’m crying lol.
I am returning to Irish classes tomorrow & you have helped me to get back into the pronunciation. You should see how I mispronounced "Derbhfhorgail" when I first saw it!
See one myself when my uncle died about 02.30 in the morning. Got woke up from my sleep & turned around in the bed. She was a grey/white figure. You can see her figure but you don’t see her face because of her long hair over the face. My mother heard one when her brother died
Oh wow! So is Keoghan pronounced Cohen?
t-am is pronounced 'tow-um' in leinster, no? the way you say it just sounds like 'táim'
in my part of America, "sorry" is often said instead of "Excuse Me" in the grocery store or restaurant. here we wave at everyone, unless they appear to be creepy, though maybe a little more dramatic than a finger...since one finger could be misinterpreted
👍👍👍
Do you share your soda bread recipe? :)
Why did Irish people abandon the Irish language and adopt the English language?
Ireland was completely conquered, and colonised by the English and lowland Scottish in the 17th century, after which the Irish language was effectively banned from any kind of official use, with the effect that Irish was replaced by English in most parts of Ireland by the second half of the 19th century.
Why did Irish people abandon the Irish language and adopt the English language?
We didn't have much choice. We were under British rule since the 12th century and punished for speaking Irish. Penal laws made it very difficult to get by speaking Irish and forced a lot of us to adopt English.

also for anyone doing a daily weigh in, if you are someone who gets periods you can gain up to 7 pounds on the scale before and during your cycle, so just keep that in mind, if you're coming up on that, it could be the reason the scale is jumping
So I went on a UK tour with my best friends just years ago. It would be a two week trip and we are from the States. One of my top things to do was go to Leap Castle. I was able to get into contact with the owne(privately owned residence), and we agreed upon a date/time that we might come by. So people understand. This is a privately owned residence and you can't just walk up and ask to look around. Respect people's privacy. Just days before we were still in contact. Day of visit I kept the owner in the loop about where we were. (We had decided to drive the whole UK. Best way to do it!) We get to the castle and knock. We hear voiced inside. One was definitely a man talking to someone. We tried a few more times with long spaces in between knocks. We figured he might be on the phone or something and didn't want to disturb. Very long story short. Nobody ever answered the door and I was defeated. I had grown up knowing about Leap Castle, and it was on my bucket list. I would catch a flight back just to see it! The owner was incredibly nice. Love yoir channel and keep it up!❤❤❤
Excellent, really great.
My cat’s name is Maébh ❤ she really is intoxicating
There's nothing that's not beautiful in Ireland. I've spent time there 4 times over the last 20 years. Yes, Kerry is gorgeous. The cliffs, the Burren, the Beehive huts...talk about magic! I love Dublin, although it must be very different now than 20 years ago. Can't wait to go back again.
I always smile when people think it's cold in Ireland. I'm in New England so for me, Ireland is mild. I've been several times, all different seasons. Barely chilly...lol
What school did you go to that had school dinners?
Baked beans are not part of a traditional Irish fry up. They’re part of a British fry up though!
Go way = get out
Lol
I love this kind of videos. As a German, giving the most of these names here would sound very alien. (Aidan you may run across here an there) and of course the Irish spelling to pronouciation connection is completely different to German or English. But man, are those names beautiful!
Thank you
I like Irish fraces
Kentigerna... didn't know 'k' was a letter in the gaelic alphabet
As a Greek living in Ireland, I found all of those names sooo puzzling 🤭
I have a debate going on with a lady on Facebook. An Irish woman is telling you pronounce Feda not fodder. Who is correct?
U were so close my name is laoise
Could we talk about why the spelling and pronunciation isn’t the same.. how?
How many months old?
