I have 3 boys and a girl. My daughters name is Freya Bláithín. All my kids have Irish and Norse names.

I love this kind of videos. As a German, giving the most of these names here would sound very alien. (Aidan you may run across here an there) and of course the Irish spelling to pronouciation connection is completely different to German or English. But man, are those names beautiful!

My youngest Daughter and her husband named my Granddaughter Cove. Cove Grace. I am the Daughter of an Irish Mother and incredibly drawn to the Ocean.

Irish Gaelic are great names.

So I'm writing a book that takes place on an Irish island and I'm still undecided on some of the character's names. Does anyone know if Seamair (clover) is commonly used as a name? And if so, what gender it's usually used for? An answer on how to pronounce it would also help, as I've heard a couple of variations and aren't sure which is the right one. Thanks in advance

You can make a google search with "common names in..." and trust me, it's really helpfull. There are some sites with that info too, but I don't remember right now. Meaning names or name dictionary, something like that.

I'm Irish and I've never heard that used as a name. The nearest to it would be Seamus, which is the Irish version of James.
