Whoa... he had a stroke then! That kind of makes him a physical therapy icon, from a certain perspective - having a stroke and continuing to fight the best he can. Never knew that bit. Every time I hear this story told, I hear a new detail. Thank you!

Yes I want to hear more. There are so many legends from Ireland, that are so interesting. Please continue with them. The only thing that I didn't hear was which county the rock was located. Thanks again.

@@WolfeMomma I like your user name, reminds me of Virgo, where you find the Dog Kennel, stars known as the Howler and the Barker, her breast Stars, 9 months before September is December. The 8th of September is Mary's birthday, on December 8th, the Sun is in the Cave of Ophiuchus, the 7 main stars form the shape of a Cave Door, pyramidal at its top. Sagittarius is known as the Hips & Thighs, Scorpio the Sexual Organ, making Ophiuchus the Womb of the Goddess, across from Sagittarius is Gemini the Twins, associated with the arms, for holding the Twins Romulus and Remus, raised by the She Wolf in her Cave. Play the words "Boy/Girl - Beyond The Mist - Say There Is A Guest" in reverse, it will echo "Sagittarius - Gemini - Virgo" Virgo is Latin for Virgin, 'vir' is Latin for Man, 'gyne' is Greek for Woman, placed together, Virgyne; Virgin, a Man/Woman, as the echo for Virgo is Boy/Girl, and September, "Her Mistress", the Echo to September. My name is Weylyn means Son of the Wolf, I better end it here, or you might think I'm hitting on you, which I'm not.

Love these Irish stories! I have a read a series set in Ireland called the sevenwaters trilogy and she weaves all these stories into the main story told as the characters sit and eat around the fire a story is told and I always love rereading them. This one was told a bit different but it ended where he killed his own son. I’d love to hear more.

Unfortunately you left out the curse cast upon the men of Ulster by Dierdre, Conor’s queen, who when nearing her pregnancy due date was made to race another Kings horse, both the horse and the queen were the fastest and Conor claimed his queen could out run the horse. Dierdre did not want to run but Conor told her he would be dishonoured so she agreed. She beat the horse but immediately went into labour. Once the baby was born she cursed the men of Ulster that in the time of Ulster’s greatest danger all would be struck down for 5 days with labour pains. When Maeve attacked, she came to the ford of the river that was Ulster’s border. She was unableto cross as Cu Cuchlan stood in the way and used the right of Champion to fight her champions one on one and that as long as he was victorious Maeve must wait. He wanted to delay her army long enough for the Ulstermen to recover. He managed to defeat all opponents until Maeve cheated and sent two warriors. He won but was so angry that at night he attacked her camp while in the throes of his Warp Spasm killing a great number ofwarriors but suffered many wounds. His charioteer took him to a cave where his father Lugh gave him a magic draught that made him sleep for 3 days. The Ulstermen were still in labour and the young boys went to fight the southern army. They were all killed and Maeve stolethe bull. Cu Cuchlan woke up too late. Cu Cuchlan is my favourite hero and there are many fascinating and tangled myths and stories of him. In my opinion he was the greatest warrior and hero anywhere.
