I have just watched this and OMG what a challenge. I will be turning 50 early next year and have just discovered the ultra distance. It was inspirational to watch.
If we put our mind to it, we can achieve far more than we initially thought possible. Happy birthday for next year!
No-one does epic quite like you. Looking forward to this.
Nice! Really enjoyed all three of the Trail and Error episodes for this, looking forward to Batterygate in a few episodes time ;-)
I cant wait for ep2 now 😅 🍿
Subscriber numbers have really taken off - well done!
cant believe you're not carrying the camp bag!
Looking forward to this.
Superb achievement well done to you
Great start! Can’t wait for the next one 😀
Now here is a series I can get on board with. What an adventure it was, looking forward to seeing through another adventurers experience.
Walked the SDW with my wife while the race was on. Took 9 days. Can’t imagine running it even once, let alone five times. Beautiful scenery though! Congratulations!
Thank you for this video (and code!). Love these
Non worries, you're most welcome.
How your Epix pro is so fast and fluid? Mine is slow?
Haha I’ve no idea that’s just how it works. Make sure your device memory isn’t clogged up and make sure you are on the latest firmware.
Lovely tribute, very fitting for an absolute legend of running.
Worth remembering the eponymous challenge he set up called the Jos Naylor Challenge which can only be completed by people over 50 years of age, covers 30 summits and 48 miles from Pooley Bridge to Greendale Bridge. He regularly took time to meet the finishers outside his home sitting on his own stone built seat.
Lovely man, met him before the Windermere marathon in 2015 RiP Joss and thanks for posting Stephen. Legend indeed
Good tribute, we should all whilst running consider where we’ll be running “next” . Well done
Joss was an inspiration to us all. But his Pennine Way Record was broken by others including Brian Harney in 1979 who I had the privilege of running a 100 mile race with in 1988
Thanks for the extra info Steve.
Nice tribute that!!
I'll never forget seeing him in his underpants after the Lake District Mountain Trials in 2017. Quite a sight 😂
Awesome as ever…well done 🎉🎉
Let’s not forget he did all that being a full time farmer, a back that should not have withstood the job he did never mind fell running, plus only one decent knee to brake on. Astonishing, pioneering, but most of all a fells man who loved the Lakes and his dogs. RIP Joss, I’ll drink a pint of Guinness to you.
Well done on that 500 mile buckle! I wondered why we didn't see you at Southease but will let you off 😁. It was a lovely night for it. 🌌
That vo2maxcoaching comment is so ridiculous. "You raced in UTMB so you can't criticise it", okay then I guess
Hi Stephen, great vid. You and Loyd have inspired me to take on my first 100! With that in mind I'm looking at kit. I notice your soft flasks have hooks on them which would stop them slipping down into the pockets as they empty... what brand are they as I can't seem to find anything similar!? Thanks very much.
Hi there. So these are Salomon soft flasks, but they are the ones with filters www.salomon.com/en-gb/shop-emea/product/sflask-xa-filter-490-16.html#color=71683&size=29055
Rip legend

Joss Naylor, what an absolute legend he was, truly one of a kind. Lovely tribute to him Stephen ☺
Appreciate your comment Nic, thank you
Congratulations, you deserve more subscribers. Love your videos!
Thank you for this lovely tribute! 👍
Appreciated thanks you
Amazing man. Feats of strength and endurance after completing a very hard day on the farm. Very quiet and humble but engaging, encouraging with a dry wit. Words like icon and legend are thrown around these days way too easily but Joss really was an icon and a legend. He absolutely loved the Wasdale valley and the whole of the Lakes. If you have a few minutes watch the Salomon TV KZread video "Of Fells and Hills" for an insight, along with portraits of Billy Bland and Kenny Stuart. Joss will be forever in the lakeland fells. I was privileged to shake his hand on two occasions and get his autograph. Thoughts with his family and close friends. RIP Joss. King of the Fells.
Beautiful words. Thanks Tim
An inspirational figure in the field of running the man is legend no one better
Cheers Frazer. Agree wholeheartedly
RIP Joss ❤
Indeed. Thank you for taking the time to watch
what a legend first got to know about him reading feet in the clouds..he was one tough bloke God bless a great mountain man and fell running legend.
Absolutely agree. Thanks for your comment
Well done on your finish! I'm intrigued by the Y Food. I'm usually a Huel drinker but saw these in Holland and Barrett yesterday and got a couple. Tried the salted caramel today post 6 hour training run and it's delicious! Have you had the powders? Do they taste the same?
Stack height is 40mm in the heel, do your research :)
Yea I did do my research. Don't know why I said 32mm....effing idiot!
@@FilmMyRun all good!
Could you do a video about your fueling strategy for long runs and marathons? I recall you mentioning you don't take gels. I'm fairly new to running longer distances and do about 15-20km in the weekend, normally without breakfast but wondering how to fuel as I run longer. Hoping to do a full marathon next year. Half marathon distance is doable now. I'd rather not take gels if possible.
What is the cut off the shirt like? Is a medium tight? Cuts of different shirts is always so different
I'm not generally a shirt wearer these days. But I'd say it sits fairly well on me. However if I were to get another I would try a size up because I wonder if the under arms are a little tighter than they should be.More of an issue when running long distance, for chafing.
Congratulations🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
Very smart
Thanks! I think I scrub up ok in it
What size was that shirt Stephen? How tall are you?
There is a size and measurement guide on the website. Mine is a medium. I'm 173cm tall
For some reason, reading the video title, I expected a DNF!…..so glad you made it….i felt it all the way even though I could never manage that…and you took overt Loyd’s video. Great effort 👍🍷
Well done getting 40k 🎉🎉🎉
So glad to hear how quickly your channel is growing Stephen. You really deserve it. Also LOVE those shirts!
Nice shirt but you look like a spanner with it zipped all the way up 😂. FFS don’t wear it with your bucket hat 🤣🤣🤣
Oh wow you are awesome!! I’m so impressed you should be so proud
Thank you. Much appreciated. I turned 50 and felt I needed to prove something to myself 😊
Try the roark shirts also!
