Minus The Gym

Minus The Gym

Hey there and welcome to Minus The Gym! This channel is dedicated to TRUE health and fitness, meaning exercise and nutrition practices that are designed to heal the body internally, promote better movement, improve looks, reduce pain and promote longevity.

My name is Ryan Sadilek. I have 20 years of experience in fitness and nutrition. I'm a Certified Personal Trainer (ACE-CPT), Functional Training Specialist (ACE-FTS) and Fitness Nutrition Specialist (ACE-FNS). I'm here on KZread to share my story of how I healed my body from several chronic diseases and issues (hypertension, IBS, hemorrhoids, acne, weak immunity and more) through proper nutrition and exercise. Trust me, what's taught in the mainstream is based almost solely on vanity. It throws caution to the wind and sacrifices health and longevity for sex appeal. So I'm here to teach you balance; fitness that heals inside and out.

Thanks for stopping by! Subscribe and tune in again if you enjoy the content :)

    I finally did my first workout today just a couple minutes ago!! I did it based on the the video of introducing circuits and the 4 movements. I did 2 circuits and god damn I almost want to cry but I feel good about doing it! I had trouble finding a way to do pull ups bc I don’t have any solid doorframes, the chairs I don’t set up and got anxiety to just finish it so I tried the laying down and raising your lower back up for 20 seconds and had to call it after not getting my 20 reps of leg raises, but god damnit I did 2 circuits and felt it!! Thank you dude, I started watching at the end bc of a cool down but honestly ima just drink water on my couch to start, walking is already a warm up to I’ll do what I can. But I’ll watch the rest of it to see what I can change for my next day!

    Way to go! I’m glad you’ve gotten started! If the circuits are too intense, you could always pace yourself more (rest between sets within each round of the circuit), or you could do the exercises as straight sets, meaning do one exercise at a time (set, rest, set, rest, etc). It’s difficult to train people via KZread because everyone is unique, yet I can’t make a custom program for everyone. Anyway, so glad to hear you got started! Keep it up!

    How long do you have to wait (if at all) to eat breakfast after drinking the celery juice?

  • @MinusTheGym
    @MinusTheGym6 сағат бұрын

    Just 10 min or so is good. The celery juice reaches your liver pretty quick when you’re fasted in the morning. In fact, I wouldn’t bother timing it, just drink the celery juice before you start making your breakfast and the timing will be fine 👍

    when shoud you do the stretches? before or after the PP

  • @MinusTheGym
    @MinusTheGym21 сағат бұрын

    Any time is fine to do the stretches, but you’ll see the most benefit if you do them right before the pike push ups. You’ll have a slightly increased range of motion after the stretches and it’ll help your form. But the idea is to do the stretches consistently over time so your flexibility improves, not just benefit from the acute improvements in ROM.

    Would doing these workouts on Olympic Rings be just as effective?

  • @MinusTheGym
    @MinusTheGymКүн бұрын

    They’d be more effective on rings because of the instability factor. You’d be recruiting more stabilizers. Just keep in mind the exercises would be significantly harder too, so go easy on yourself and don’t be disappointed if it takes long to achieve some of these moves on rings.

    I’m no expert but I believe the best choice would be to skip dinner simply because 1. You need breakfast for energy for the day and if you stop eating it your metabolism will slow. 2. You can skip dinner because you won’t need energy at night time in most cases depending on your schedule and if you start to feel tired you just sleep.

    Food for thought......the motion of the legs relative to the body during a deadlift mimicks the motion of the legs during sprinting..... Also as my deadlift numbers have gone up so has my sprinting speed (not my stamina just speed)....so the reverse must also be true. You can use sprints to workout the same muscles as the deadlift.

    You are such an inspiration. I just ordered a slow cooker... I also want to try to go plant based. I tried it earlier in my life, but had a very bad Vitamin B12 deficiency and never wanted this to happen again. Greetings from Germany (f, 53 years)

    Thanks! I appreciate that 😊 Glad to hear you want to try plant based again. I take a B12 and Vitamin D3 supplement, so I recommend using those next time you try plant based. You can skip the Vitamin D if you’re getting plenty of sun during summer, but B12 is handy all year round. Also, prioritize fruit and veggies when you can. They’re the best for us!

    @@MinusTheGym Thank you for your reply and your tipps. I really appreciate it. I'll take both. I got a dog and go out a lot, but still I have a little bit of a Vit D deficiency. Germany has not many hours of sun. I also supplement iodine (kelp), as we are a country of very low iodine levels. Have a great day and thank you for the great videos. 🌹💜🌞
