I’ve sold the Denix model shortly after the video was finished. It’s been a while since then but if my memory serves me right I don’t think there’s a way to separate the slide from the frame as the Denix does not have a functional disassembly lever. Potentially the slide is two separate pieces and screwed on. I would look at the slide and see if it has any exposed screws. Thats the only way I can think of accessing the internals of the Denix. But be warned, these things do not like to be taken apart. Hope this was some help.

I think i found this model of gas mask on a shop, didn't recognize the exact model but it was similar to this, do i have a risk to getting one with asbestos inside the mask or the filter?
@succulentjacob Жыл бұрын
It’s probably not the best idea to wear an 80 year old gasmask regardless of what it’s made of. Gm-30s contain no asbestos as far as I know, but the filter threads on the mask can fit any number of wartime or post war filter, which could contain asbestos. It’s impossible to answer the question since I have no picture to look at, you’ll have to positively identify it yourself.

I completely disassembled the thing at one point and the barrel stops about halfway into the handguard. The front of the barrel is heavier than the other end which causes it to droop slightly. This can be fixed but all Denix K98s will do this.

@succulentjacob Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have a set of straps, not from ATF, although those are nice ones too. I used this bag at a North Africa reenactment back in March. It’s still in perfect shape. Only thing I changed was the drawstring that keeps all my goodies inside,l. I replaced it with a new piece of cotton rope. I didn’t want to damage the old one as it was quite frail and felt like something bad was going to happen if I tried to use it.

Denix does great stuff at reasonable prices, and I love the P-38 model! Minor differences from the original can be overlooked, since replica guns are basically for effect (room decorations) or for play/fantasy purposes. One thing I think the company should have done is to offer a model with a Nazi eagle/swastika on the grip. They should do this also with their Walther PPK model. As a matter of fact, I think back in the last century they did exactly that. But not today due to political correctness. Another problem we need to be aware of is that, increasingly, replica guns are being banned in lots of places by all the "do-gooders" out there. Some idiots actually believe that if they just pass enough laws the world will become a perfect place! Idiots!

Hi, the number 71 is not the soldier's number, it means that this Gasmask was the 71st issued within the soldier's unit. This number was written in the soldeir's Soldbuch (paybook).
