    Demand for the VTX bikes on the used market is going up. These machines were so underrated in their day. I paid $5k for my '03 VTX1800C 16 years ago and I could easily sell it for $6k tomorrow. Tires, filters, fluids and battery. That's it. Every time I check the valves they are dead on. Honda needs to bring these back. I'd be first in line to get one.

    Enjoy your videos, i purchased the same bike, paid $250 for it, but pristine condition, only 12k miles, was owned by an older lady. Have done a lot of work to it, got it running but still jeed to rebuild and clean carbs, I've been avoiding due to the difficulties of removing the darn thing. Looks like a major pain. Literally my last thing to do, so im biting the bullet and diing it. Your videos have been inspiring me, keep ip the great work, you seem to be very knowledgeable on many levels. Good to see!

    Is it heavy for a small old man who has experience riding .

  • @TylerChaseMotors
    @TylerChaseMotors3 күн бұрын

    If you’re good at riding it’s really not that heavy. The weight is so low. You only need the strength if you get in a stupid situation where it gets leaned over too far. If you’re just maneuvering it around it is super manageable

    I daily an 83 vf45 magna and I love it. It's such a good time. The thing will easily cruise at 90 and I've got it up to 125 on route 66 in Arizona this spring when we road tripped 1900 miles in 4 days. It can hang with my buddies 2018 Harley just fine. I got stopped at multiple gas stations with old timers telling that they had one back in the day. Good times

    The trick to keeping those hoses soft (As someone with a OEM 88 Magna), Come winter time, coat that bike in WD-40. Avoid your brakes obviously, but coat it top to bottom and put a painter tarp over it. No bs, mine looks brand new still and will back it. The carb removal is a PIA no doubt, but otherwise the bike isn't too bad to work on. Its finding parts that will break ya.

    I have a 2011 Honda interstate and I didn’t buy it because of the reliability because I didn’t know that at the time but I was looking for a used fury and the dealership didn’t have one at the time but he had my bike and it had some of the qualities of the fury but it had hard bags and full windshield floorboards and a heal toe shifter so I’m coming from a sport bike and I’m also a great grandpa and I felt like an imposter riding that bike because everybody riding one looked like a 25 year old and plus I’m not a fan of the riding position but if you tuck yourself in you hardly feel the wind but I think I have the right bike for me it has enough looks for me and the bags, floorboards, heel toe and windshield are things that I didn’t know I needed until now so I’ll probably keep this bike because every time I ride it I can almost hear the song bad to the bone! And that’s why I ride in the first place

    I bought a used 2005 VTX 1300. The model is affordable. Mine has an aftermarket exhaust that I like. The only thing I've had fixed is the front fork seals. At 32k miles and almost 20 years old, I can't complain. The VTX is one of the better cruisers I've owned. Excellent video.

    I had an 84. I really missed that bike. But it was so hard to keep it maintained if anything happened to it. They really need to revised one and bring it back on the market. V-4 motors were a power house.

    I have bought a few vtx 1300 that did not run it has always been the petcock and vaccuum lines to the petcock .throttle slide diafram fuel inlet needle defective choke not closing allowing to much fuel .pump diaphragm. See my videos when you get them fixed they make excellent bikes my last one had 20000 miles i put jets 58/195. Cobra long exhaust . Gutted the factory air box. Deleted the choke and emissions it runs like a beast you barley touch start fires right up every time

    I knew an old man in the 80s, went by “ boots”. He used to ride his Harley flattie down from Detroit with his buddies in the 60s to Daytona for bike week. They’d race, then ride them back. Usually after a campground rebuild. Being an old flat head his was the slowest of all his buddies. I met him at a bar in Fl , he was riding a V65 Honda. That thing had been beat up! He’d show us pics of the old days at the races and the rides down from the north etc. I asked why he had the Honda now? He said “ I always had the slowest bike of our bunch, just once , before I die, I wanted to have the fastest bike at the bar, and now I do”. He had a small windshield with “ Boots, for go not show” on it. He would race anyone on anything and won 9/10 times. We got to be good friends. One night a guy on a sportster walks in and says “ who’s Jap $hit is that outside?” Boots says “ that’s me”. “ you wanna race that thing old man?” Boots said “ boy, I’ve been waiting for you my whole life”. He proceeded to completely embarrass that little Evo sporty by MANY bike lengths. Dude didn’t return to the bar, the old man came back smiling and said “ THAT is exactly why I bought that thing!”. RIP Boots, you were a hoot!

I love the simplistic design and dependabilty. Also easy to work on for a novice. The comet style tank is sic. I'm 43 and Been riding 15 yrs and this Bike will last forever.

    So another reason it was smoking is you probably didn’t adjust the pedal so you were smoking off your belts and if you don’t govern the pedal which means j adjusting that screw, it causes it to use more oil than it should and blow the motor And to be honest, you didn’t have that much oil to start with considering it leaked

  • @Chlodapup
    @Chlodapup20 күн бұрын

    So under the plate you push down the plate you mount to the mower on top of the plate you mount to the mower there should be a screw You can adjust how much throttle you can give it

    I bought a 2006 VTX 1300 R last year. It’s my 23rd motorcycle and I’ve been riding over 50 years. It had been sitting for years. I put a fuel petcock on the tank, a battery, a set of tires, and adjusted the valves. The previous owner said he brought it had about 10k miles. It actually had 6800. It already had aftermarket exhaust and the carb is perfectly tuned. It as fun to ride as any of my previous Harleys or metric bikes. It’s a great riding and handling bike for a cruiser.
