Engine Swapping my Racing Mower

Ойын-сауық

After a failed attempt to build a racing mower with the stock Briggs and Stratton that came on this Craftsman, I finally go for the swap to the Kawasaki and I'm PUMPED! This engine is way higher quality and its a V-TWIN. Stay tuned for what's to come..

The belt pully on the motet can be turned upside down so the big one is the one with the belt and that makes you go a lot faster but you might need a bigger belt…

I’m super exited for that exhaust. You could also put a slide carb on it for good throttle response, and just have a limiter on the Petal or slide itself as a governor

Put a 6in pulley on the engine and a 3.5in pulley on the rear and grab a 92in belt and you get-up to 35mph

You can easily get it to go 50 mph. Fairly simple to do, the hardest part will probably be the belt system/clutch relocation. This is off the top of my head but these mods are important for safety if you ever plan on going fast. The transaxle in that mower (if its an mst 206), is capable of 50 easily. Nobody told me some of this stuff and the internet sucks with any info on safety, so I hope this helps. -High speed front wheel bearings -New spindle bushings if replaceable -Weld on bolt extensions to the front wheels so you can thread a nut on there along with the clip to keep the wheel from coming off incase the clip fails. - Shaft collars to hold the rear wheels on -Custom tie rod/drag link using 1/2" rods and heim joints, copying the bends on the drag link. Using a die to cut threads onto the rod and just simply add 1/2" heim joints. - New center bushing for the front rack, grind the bottom spacer for the rack slightly thinner to house the rack slightly tighter. -I've used 75w-140 valvoline synpower in the transaxles and that oil has given me the best results and is the only one that has actually made a difference in whine. -Go over every steering component and check for loose hardware. Optional: -Reinforce spindles by welding some angle across the lower bend of the spindle, where they bend super easily. -Weld angle along the rear section of the frame to keep the frame from flexing and breaking the front transaxle support mounts.

Vacuum pumps fail commonly on all these engines. I like to put a fuel filter in my vacuum line between the pump and crank case so you can see if it’s failed once again and pumping gas in the crankcase for future problem prevention. Sometimes you aren’t as lucky and don’t see it spitting fuel so im glad you saw that.

get a 4 inch pulley for the front and a 1.5 in for the rear, use an 86in belt, the belt might be a lil hard to get on and you will lose the clutch for a while but I've gone 45-50 mph
