I said it before and I'll say it again Red beard needs a dyno I'd like to know how much horsepower it makes before and after he builds it didn't expect to see this today great video love the PB Blaster ad

If you count the wires and check resistance of the rotary knob you could match it to an existing throttle pedal for electric motor controllers
@nialpmatk04

Yeah that or use a custom pedal with the potentiometer on the front with extended wiring

I think the throttle response would be too slow. Looked really slow to respond when he twisted that knob
@axeami1354

you could eliminate it completely and get better throttle response and potentially take out the governor at the same time, two birds with one stone.

Hi red beard I just want you to know that you have really inspired my daughter she would be outside trying her hardest to fix this motor until it was just to the point we couldn’t do but we fluxed it for he and she is pumped thank you for giving her that spark.🙂
This thing is going to be a monster if the modding and aftermarket community takes hold of it. The v-twin predators get some sweet big bore kits and other upgrades. I could see this pumping 75 horsepower or more. 50 at the very least.

Take the electronic switch out and move it up front then extend the wires and as far as the crankshaft goes make a jackshaft and enlarge the inlet hole on the motor to fit the crankshaft then go with a normal size pulley on the other end and you have 2 ways to adjust your speed and your converter.
She's a beast! Going to be great to see how both the builds go.
Once I had a red beard, now only white. I've been enjoying your work for a while, I've been a mechanic over fifty years, and am stoked you are taking old style engines, and making some serious horsepower from them. When I retired from the marines, my wife and I moved to "farm country", I've been using the same techniques to mow ten acres of lawn, I ride a 90 inch harley I built in 95, and hope to do some travelling this year, actually getting on the road again. I'm really interested in seeing you put a carburetor and seeing the kind of power you can get out of it. Thanks for sharing all this.
I saw this engine sitting in your shop and was waiting for this video. Love ya builds 💪💪💪💪
Hey Red Beard, love the video! Just wanted to add a little bit of information concerning the electronic carburetor control. I have just received my Duromax 999cc engine for my mini airboat. I previously had a wore out vanguard 35hp and I purchased this engine to replace it. As soon as I received it I took the front cover off to check out the potentiometer. The numbers on the back gave me little information honestly and seems to be a 2 wire industrial type POT. I then did a ohms reading on it and it’s 0-5k ohms of resistance from idle to full throttle. I hope this helps some of you all with current or future builds involving drive by wire. Keep up the great videos Red Beard and God Bless!

Hey Tommy, I'm wanting to do the same thing. What did you end up doing with the throttle? What did you do with the larger shaft? Did you just change the old yoke to a bigger one?
I absolutely cannot wait for the street bike build carsandcameras did one with the CVT and a 670 I've always dreamed of seeing a big block industrial V-Twin powered motorcycle with a divorced transmission I promise you it will be my favorite build of any Builds on KZread bar none!!!
Haha the commercial was great only thing missing was hair blowing in the wind like Fabio !
Can't wait for performance cam, pistons, flywheel to become available!
That engine sounds amazing! Can't wait to see the builds...
If it has the same bolt spacing as the Briggs and Stratton. It will bolt up to the Go Power Sports engine plate, sku kpdem-2, with just minor modification. All you need to do is, hog out the bolt holes, in the engine's base 1/16". You just need to make them oval. It a lot easier than making your own engine plate. Support your boy!
I’m so glad you do these videos , nothing but love here,,,,
Love your channel, great job, your builds and reviews are awesome to watch!
That’s a sweet engine man! Can’t wait to see it on a project!🤘🏻
The Ultralight airplane guys or mini airboat guys might like this. I would be nice to see how light it could be and if it could drive a prop directly with no reduction gear.

It is inline like my old Moto Guzzi and similar capacity to the Moto Guzzi bikes I used to own.
I'd be way to tempted just to do a full fly by wire setup for the throttle.
Great channel, I always been a small engine guy and your channel is quite interesting.
This is going to be very interesting. So Glad it showed up in my recommendation.
Nice.. you get all the Nice toys and it ain't even Christmas yet..lol. I'm self employed as a mobile mechanic but I need to get a job with you! Keep up the good work, RB. I'll be watching!
Great job showing and telling, about that motor looking like it can be used for a lot of things to push air rear end. Thanks again and see ya next time see ya bye.
Dude!!! Freakin gnarly man… power to the pistons
Sweet engines, looking forward to the projects! 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻
I would love to see a full build on this and see what it does cause that thing is a monster !
If you do use a Polaris XP1000 drive system, be prepared to play with the fly weights! My XP1000 engages at ~2500rpm, and shift-up is around 6500rpm. I don't know if you plan to run that beast that high, but I would doubt it (at least at first).
Excited to see this thing roar on the buggy and bike.
Would love to see some hotroding of the SxS engine. See how much power could be made. 75, 80 or 100hp maybe with doing the same engine "specs" as a RZR or another popular 1000 SxS. The street bike twin done with a hotroding setup to but with air cooling like a standard air-cooled bike engine. After that, a turbo on the bike and a supercharger on the SxS
You so crazy....Player !!! Looking forward to seeing the process of putting a carb on that beast.
Comet EX780 and EX1190 torque converters come with a 1-7/16 bore. Rated for 24+ horsepower.
Man I love watching your stuff... It's like you are a 'bad idea fairy!' ... Going to build a buggy next year for sure.
Yes build build build. And funny thing I just picked up some of that PB blaster , ready to try it out
I'm literally in suspense on you guys building that engine out and putting it on a buggy that would be really awesome I love watching your guys's channel you guys teach me a whole lot about engines and I really appreciate your hard work but it would be awesome to see you switched out the buggy with the supercharge for that engine that would be really cool love you guys and God bless
this V Twin does sound good ! i liked the ability toruń it on the new Stand too , i also like your idea of simplifying the Stock Carb to a more traditionalMikuni set up also will be neat to see what Aftermarket Performance parts come out after it’s real release … maybe a Cam to give it a Little more Harley Sound ? who knows it might start a new trend of Homemade Chopper builds ? i’m guessing the Chinese must have a HD or Baker Clone transmission or get a Custom Pulley machined to do a CVT style set up ! Imagine that fully automatic twist and go Choppers homemade
Pretty sweet engine can't wait to see what you do with it
Nice review sir !
Looking forward to the builds
I think this is, Sparta.... crap, I mean this is the first time I've ever not forwarded a channels sponsored add lol. You're hilarious my dude!! Blaster is lucky to have you!
RBG! As we all know, you guys are a huge fan and supporter or performance670...and idea if they will develope performance parts for this? With the price around 2k...we are almost sitting at a fully functional motorbike with harness. However would love one of these beasts...especially if performance parts come out...along with an adapter for a cvt.
Can’t wait to see the new 999cc in a buggy !! Az supports Red Beard’s Garage !!
Awesome! I can’t wait to see how it rips in a buggy.
that add was awesome !!! 🤣😂🤣🤘
I been looking at a lot of ultralight aircraft, where they are known to use 1/2 VW engines, as well as a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine. I can't help wondering how much fun could this motor supply "Up There"
Omg I totally went through the same frustration with my lawnmower.🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a monster looking forward to see it upgraded more oohmf
That was by far the best paid promotion I’ve ever seen I told myself if Red Beard uses it I need a bottle right now
Sounds perfect for something with huge tires and all four of them spinning.
8:20 man, this engine is ready to rev!
At 5:55 he says "I like it a lot". Then he says I like it a lot in a forest Gump voice and I love how it's barely different than his regular voice. I love that shit! I'm in the south and the blue ridge mountains are my favorite place, only 90 minutes away. Fuck yeah!
Have not even finished the video and wanted to comment on the yellow timeline during the promotion, REALLY A GREAT IDEA!! Now back to the content
Cool, thanks.
Love your channel. Beard is strong. But…. When getting to that large of an engine and/or that price point, would it not be cheaper and easier to get street bike motors on a build? They already have a transmission and run chained sprockets. Not trying to be a stick in the mud, I love your channel.

I would enjoy KZread coverage of this engine and what you do with it.
You made my day when I saw you was going to have the engine on here. What a F'n monster. I can't wait to see what you're going to do this bad boy. Again great show and in book the best show that deals with this stuff. Couldn't ask for a better teacher.
This is so F$$$ing awesome!
I have an ancient skidsteer with a Wisconsin V4 that doesn't run very well. Plan to swap out motors. In my case I just need to have a coupling to the hydraulic pump. Will have to fab a motor mount to get everything lined up.
I will be putting this on my Beach cruiser 🤔🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🥰💯😍 my next build will have this monster on it....😍 of yeah!!!
Dang that thihg sounds fricken awsome. Reminds me of the Kohler Aegis engines we worked with. They almost have a V8 sound to them.
You can use a gas pedal assembly from any vehicle that is the same fly by wire setup. Vw dodge gm they all make throttle pedal assemblies that operate like that throttle knob does.
Greg didn't you say Brad Hill does spun aluminum gas tanks? And how do I get a hold of him or a link to get a hold of him. Thank you in advance
maybe an electronic gas pedal from a car/truck with electrinic throttle control, I wastched grindhard pluming use one on one of thier 2 trikes. It was a self contained device, it looked like a gas pedal with a little box at one end pluging to a harness to the carbs/fi... just a thought.
Wow that's cool motor what a beast 😃👍🎉🌟 I'm just off to watch it on the big screen cool guys
Nice. I want one on my golf cart now.
Wish I could test one out on my mud motor to replace my existing 35 to see if it does better with more torque
I wanted to use this for a pressure washer. Any suggestions for a gear reducer that will fit this beast?
First thing I thought of.. put it on a bike… I mean .. v twin. With a proper motorcycle exhaust … it’ll be gnarly!
That's one kick arse motor....
That would make a great engine for a zero turn mower. I wonder if it would work with that big shaft/key.
This beast needs a go-kart built around it!
I know how to build my motorcycle now. Thank you.

@@RedBeardsGarage how much than engine sir
That is a cool small engine
Oof that looks bad ass keep it up puts my little 208cc duromax to shame 😂
I guess if you knew what the resistance is for the potentiometer for the speed you could install an electronic pedal with wires running back to the engine. Another idea is take the knob off, 3D print a small gear to replace the knob and a larger sector gear for the pedal Bowden cable and a frame to mount the components and the Bowden cable, you could control it that way too.
It looks like that would be a good candidate for a sawmill
Remove the knob and put a cable cam on throttle knob shaft so that you can land a throttle cable from an atv. Just a thought. Awesome setup and it will be awesome no doubt.
Sounds smoooooth
Keep us posted on it very interested in that motor
I have a couple of cans of blaster hand sanitizer. Seems to work great.
Wow it sounds cool guys it's like it's from the future . haha allsome vid 👌😁👍🎉
They messed small engines up with push to starts now!!! Jeeeezzz
Spline it and use a cv style joint to a rear differential or transfer case!
Use different style switch for electronic wired into foot pedal. Throttle by wire 👍
I had a thort buddy with the throttle on the new v twin.you can use a e bike hand throttle it has 3 wires and not to hard to solder in but but there will be a throttle response delay witch is a down fall .😁so yip put the new makuini on it for sure 😊👌 cool stuff allsome work guys 🌟🎉👍👌
This would make "The Mack Daddy" of walk behind snowblower engines for sure.
I wonder if this engine could be put into an older economy car, would be interesting to see if it could be matched with the cars transmission/transaxel.

@@dylanzrim3635 disagree, both the original 1200 and 1600 type 3 were more hp and torque. They were also lighter than this engine. They could be easily upgraded to make way more power and much more reliable than this Chinese mower engine. Fun for a kart but no comparison to German engineering even 70 years ago. You can even buy a crate vw for about the same as this engine.
That is cool!
It's a by wire setup so if you take a wire from like a police Crown Vic that's got the throttle-by-wire you should be at a depth at throttle pedal to the carburetor all you need to know is what posted the signal receives and sends
I can't wait to see what those engines can do. When is the next video? when, when, when???!!!!
That Harley project will be epic!
