Oh those rings 😂
So glad you helped me decide not to drop. So much anxiety watching the rings flying around!
How do you take care of your joints? Especially your knees!!??
Proper training and movement patterns. Knees should be fine when we don’t abuse them :/)
Thank you for sharing!
Of course!
The swimming tips❤❤❤❤
I know I’m 7 months behind but welcome to Alabama! Cool to have you pretty close by! I’m in Huntsville!
Awesome! Thank you... loving it here so far!!
These tips will help me get through the WOD tomorrow too! 😆
😅 a single wod can be a journey in and of itself!
Great info...for lots of situations. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Legend!
How often are you changing the water? Do you use ozone? What size micron filter are you using? What pump?
I change the water about every 2 weeks (especially when I contrast with the sauna). No micron filter... The pump/chiller is www.penguinchillers.com/?rstr=6858

So glad you found it useful! Congrats on punching your ticket! Come say hi at the games!!
Congratulations on qualifying!
As a master CFer and former box owner I love the content you put out. I watch every video you put out. Thank you
Awesome! Thank you!
7:08. What the heck dude? Did you still rich froning’s right arm?
Great interview guys! Rudy is another one of those good dudes out there in the Masters space. Incredible athlete. Got to be on the floor with him during MFC. You don't realize how good this guy is until you are on the same floor doing the same workout.
💯
Love from bangladesh 🇧🇩🙏..i really huge fan of you
Trying to get back into tris.Lots of struggle ,i box and lift, bigger now by 20lbs . Think i need to diet to race again and my swim needs alot of work. Dont want to lose muscle though
Great video but I just bought a cheep secondhand chest freezer linned it and have the ink bird thermal temp regulator it’s always ready 24hrs a day and cheap as Chips to run with no hassle,as you already bought the freezer seemed the obvious route 🤔
Nice work!!!
What are the codes/discounts you have for lent packets?

Came for the ice idea, left with bonus ideas for editing my content. Great vid 👍
Awesome! Thank you!
I’m also a fan of warming up to a few percent more than the weight I’ll be using in a WOD. Makes the WOD weight just feel lighter. Sometimes it’s more mental than physical. Or at least that’s how my broken head works. Lol
Sure does!!
One week dip free 🎉
Yes!!!!!
Of you put a lid or cover over it, it shouldn’t get algae I think. Sunlight is what encourages algae to grow.
Nice!
Legit question here, how would u workout with a 5 and 10 year old crossfit wise. I got bikes/ weights and barbells for kids plus all my garage gym.
You gotta scale and make the workouts fun and doable for them.
@JasonGrubb yea attention always the hard part haha I can get the daughter focused for 1 or 2 movements then I let her do whatever, just trying to get her to see me doing stuff. Oh well content idea haha
How can your iPhone shows 9:41 throughout the whole video? Legacy to the time the first iPhone was lunched?
No idea!!! ha ha
Set my ❤ on 🔥🔥🔥
Yep
What a routine 😮 🙌 Just be careful with the phone. The seals that keep it water resistant can ware out over time.
Fair - but I only keep a phone for about two years.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks!
How many times are you doing sauna a week? Just this contrast on Sunday, or shorter sessions during the week as well?
Mega-Sessions on Sunday... shorter session (ie 15 min) a couple of times a week.
Isn't all of that a lot of extra stress? It's surprising to me that this routine doesn't beat up the nervous system.
it is a bit of stress... yes. But not the same type of stress that training is.
hey Jason, I recently got a chiller for my icebath by nuvio, I live in florida my chiller won't reach the temp I set it too for example its set on 49 but won't get cooler than 58 to 60. its this normal or does your chiller keep the temp u set it to despite the heat ? thanks love the content
Good question... The chiller I use from Penguin (www.penguinchillers.com/?rstr=6858) is 3/4 horse power. IF your chiller is not getting the water told enough, it's likely not quite strong enough. I'm in Alabama - 95-100 degrees this week and my water is always 47 (right where I set it)
Do you throw water on stove in sauna at all?
I don't... It's plenty humid down here already.
I'm thoroughly impressed by your dedication and the quality of your routine. That being said, I chaffed at your phone in the sauna. If are serious about the benefits you can get from the sauna, as a meditative experience, I would not take your phone in (except for maybe setting a timer). Its an amazing opportunity to be alone with nothing but the heat and your thoughts. An excellent opportunity to get to know yourself better, think about the future, your life etc.. Other than that, I'm impressed and while I currently unable to build a setup like yours, whenever I get into my next house, its going to be the first thing I put up. We are plagued by constant media stimulation, at least I know I am. Reclaiming a portion of the day for silence, solitude, meditation, is probably about as good for you as the sauna itself.
Ha ha! I knew I would get flack for taking my phone. Sometimes I just sit, sometimes I habit stack, sometimes I just scroll and chill. But yea - absolute best practice would be no other stimulation.
Started Crossfit three months ago just before turning 40. Realized how bad of a shape i was in, and slightly overweight. Now three months later i am shocked with the changes to my body thats already happened. Havent lost any weight what so ever, but i know for sure that's because i gained a lot of muscle and burned a lot of fat. The progress is mind blowing. Loving it so far and completely hooked, feeling bad staying home on rest days! You better look behind your shoulder at the 2026 Crossfit Championship because i'll be right behind you haha ;-)
Ha ha!! I'll keep an eye out for ya!
I was one of Haley Adams' pink shirt, lightsaber clad fans! It was amazing to see her out on the competition floor. Seeing her train week in/week out and then go out and do so well, even winning the Row/HSW event was amazing. Can't wait to see her at the Games.
Me too!!!!
inspiring!! Thinking to RV one day but have so much setup I need to consider built in, including - the gym! Nice to see what's possible. Thank you for sharing!
It's a ton of work... fun, but challenging for sure.
Great idea. I may consider this. However, what is the cost difference between the freezer and a dedicated chiller? You would save money on water and time. However, it would use electricity and you could add a water purifier. Just curious.
Great point! A freezer would be cheaper for sure... but such a pain honestly. Now that I have a chiller - it's amazing. www.penguinchillers.com/?rstr=6858
You should read "The Salt Fix". The sugar industry put the "salt is bad" thought in the USA's minds
Amazing book.
Ill never forget the first time i cold plunged i was a little infant it was in my red toy tub i got the idea from when me and my family would travel up towards northern california my father was the one who taught me to cold plunge in the river i still remember to this day the first time i put ice from the freezer in my big red toy box filled it up with ice and dove into the tub i couldnt resist it it was extremely cold now to this day i still take extremely cold showers i just wish i had the cash to buy a trough or atleast have the nerve to cold plunge in the bath tub maybe once i get tougher at the gym ill buy an ice bag and fill up the bath tub with water and cold plunge in there i prefer my cold water to be anywhere from 45 to 38 degrees fairenheit would it best if i just buy a cold plunger from amazon or maybe just a trough idk i think ill just stick with the cold shower and tub method
A quality cold plunge tank (I prefer Ice Barrel obviously) is great. And I love those temperatures now.
I need the water to be more like 4.5°C, or 40°F. Will it go that low?
Sure will!!
I've been doing Crossfit 2 years now and I have come miles from when I started but I still struggle with fine tuning my diet and I can tell if definitely has an impact on my endurance. I was 44 when I started Crossfit so I was a little late to the party but I have made great progress so far and I'm always making improvements in technique, diet and recovery. I find all your videos very helpful especially since you are my age. Training tips from people half my age aren't always applicable. You're killing it, maybe someday I'll be close to your level.
🙌 - with consistency, you'll get there!!
30 min of ski erg straight?
30 min ski erg... every 3 min, hop off and do 10 strict ttb
@JasonGrubb so basically ski for 3 min x 10 rounds?
the shortest distance between you and your goals is consistency. I'll take that quote to heart tyvm
Truth!
hey Jason, love the content! have you tried quinoa and do you think it has enough carbs to replace other carbs for CF?
U got this bro
100%
I just did my first ice bath of the summer. During the winter I don’t have to worry about the water staying cold. But I found an ice machine at a car wash where you get 20 pounds of ice for two dollars. so I bought 80 pounds of ice hoping that would be enough. I got 70° water down to 42° in about two hours time with the outdoor temperature of 88°. The key is keeping the ice bath away from sunlight and having a thermal cover over it. Really enjoy your videos! Thank you.
Yep... it's all about keeping that water cold!
@@JasonGrubb hello guys, glad to see I'm not the only one with the same problem
