All good points. I tell people, I have never seen a green light at an intersection. Meaning, I do not trust it and always cover my brake and slow a bit to watch what is happening all lanes. Also, never dash away when it turns green. Screw em if they honk, you are still alive when that idiot runs the red light.
Good stuff. On focal points I’d add focus on where you want the bike to go and use peripheral vision for threats. Object fixation gets a lot of new riders.
4:29 you literally said the mirror su*ks & then said it’s solid 🤦🏻♂️ Dude what are you up to !?!
The clip that starts tip 5 is about a half mile from my house. :)
Actually now that I watch the whole thing more closely, we're obviously very close neighbors! Highway 92, baby!
My brother restored a 397 Chevelle , Hemi tranny, and some racing differential. He had performance headers and custom exhaust that was quieter than stock. It was pearl black and re dipped chrome trim. It was used on a few movie sets. Anyways, he got pulled over for doing 50 in a 35 speed trap. He was very cool to the cop, stepping out of the car so the cops could do a once over, which was legal back then. The cop was impressed with the work. So my brother would not let the cop go until he saw the rest of the car. He showed him a low-profile double carb and flat wide air box so the hood would close. He showed him the trunk with all sorts of goodies for the car. Low profile spare. Cans of air, flares, safety stuff, first aid, jumper cables, all packed to the sides and a trunk for 3 people. The cop was so jealous he let my brother off with a warning.
Always head check when changing lanes, try to make eye contact with drivers, when cornering especially in wet/humid conditions avoid the white line at all costs & road edges!! In Australia the paint they use for road marking is like ice!! I almost learned the hard way long ago! Ride to live don’t live to ride! 🙏🏼
do you really need the intro music for a 200? ah no, no thrills here, people are getting ridiculous with thes vlogs
Wounder what they paid him for this one.
To answer your question- manufacturer country origin isn't a huge factor for me when considering motorcycles; that variable may very well be tied for my last consideration. My top 5 considerations are 1- Value, 2- Performance, 3- OEM & Aftermarket Support, 4- Price (to include maintenance costs), 5- Pedigree. I'd have to place origin at 6th or 7th depending on the competition/ comparable bikes in the class I'm looking at. What's neat about this Buell (and almost all of that brand's lineup), is that it appeals to the "riders bike" bare-bones, performance oriented, V Twin supersport niche. They always seem to make wildly unique production motorcycles that fit a very small segment of riders. Do I think Buell hit the nail on the head with this one? Absolutely- for their target market. I was waiting for this video to drop, and genuinely appreciate your objective approach in this episode. Patiently awaiting the track content to follow.
first of all i watch the front tire of traffic no matter what direction stopped or moving. i have had them pull out in front of me while looking at me and i had them force me out of my lane when riding behind another rider. all they see is one rider or none at all. believe me when you are a newbie you will go thru all this when you don't know these tips much more.
Obviously the bmw cut the other driver off.
What jacked and pants are you wearing?
Well I'm going to be a beginner. So everything is very important to me.
This video series has really swayed me from getting a ninja 400 and getting a CF Moto 450 SS
So basically it’s fun but most of the things on it don’t work properly …. Sounds pretty American to me.
Thinking about getting this as my first bike and making it a supermoto
A sv650 power competitor to the vulcan s
I was looking for my first bike and was going to go with a 250 or 300 online i went into a honda store and seen a 250 but next to it was this 400 it looked beefy i thought it was a 600 didnt know it was a 400 the salesman told me. It got my attention so i got it. I hadnt ridden in years like 30 years. I road it fell in love. I looked it up online to see what it was about and all bikers of different skill levels had nothing but good things to say about it. I've been stopped by people and they think its a 600 and people are challenging me to race them all of the time. Mine is a candy apple red so its not a really bright red but its a beautiful looking color. At least thats what the ladies say when they tell me they like my bike. 😊
Is it rain proof?
Never seen any of your videos before but can tell you that you pulled into North Fulton County Jail off old Milton pkwy in Alpharetta Ga. I maybe mistaken but I am 95% sure it is lol. Anyways good video and I’ll subscribe to see what else you put out dude
It needs a bigger tank.
Great video !!! I doing my first 10hr trip from Nashville,Tn to Panama Beach FL … I’m Super excited .. I’ll be riding my New 2023 Gen 3 Hayabusa …
Excellent job doing this video. Also, ride in an air bubble - position yourself so you aren't gaining on cars in front of you and cars behind you aren't gaining on you. Sound impossible? This is what a well known semi-truck transport company teaches its drivers. And it works. And on a bike, it works amazing. Of course, not so much for downtown gridlock. Watch drivers faces and make eye contact when possible. You can see drivers faces in their side-view mirrors. And if you can't see their face they can't see you. Watching drivers faces helps you understand what they are likely going to do. And helps you find out which ones are staring at their cell phone instead of actually driving. Glance at your mirrors constantly. Glance, don't stare. Trucker training is to glance at your mirrors every 3 to 5 seconds. Well, maybe not that often on a bike but, point being, you need to know who and what is behind you and next to you at all times. Once you develop the habit, it becomes natural. You will increase your personal safety dramatically over most riders if you get in the habit of having your eyes dance across your mirrors a lot.
I know this sounds harsh but, your face is getting way too much screen time. If you focus on the ride, the scenery and the bike instead of you, your productions would be of vastly better quality.
Experienced rider who likes checking beginner lessons to remind myself. I had gotten lazy with mistake 3 . Live in the country and don't ride in cities much. All the mistakes are life saving and I was getting one wrong. Thanks
7:40 I've seen a lot of people talk about the center part of the lane the majority of which is bad but yet the written test it says u should be in the middle both while riding and stopping because u will be more likely to be seen and that the oily spots r ok to ride on even in the rain I was just sitting there like wtf no that sounds bad and when I'm stopping I don't wanna get sandwiched like bro what
great tiprs. btw which bike are you riding
I always put the cameras upside down so turning them on or off is done easilt by the left hand.
It's for me.
I wish they did similar design to the trident 660…
If you go the same length pipe ,go 2 into 1?
That's not that cool.
Have owned alot of bikes GSXR 1000 & 750 , ZX6 & ZX1400 , CBR 954, SV1000 , Buell Blast, S3, XB12 and currently 2002 X1 White Lighting The GSXR 750 so well balanced ZX1400 unreal warp speed and comfy The X1 is just so fun to ride and with good tires handles great, forcewinder exhaust , (extreme loud) , race ecu , forcewinder intake , pirelli diablo rosso 3 tires. 11.5 1/4 mile , just an awesome bike but reliability is an issue. This new bike looks great would love to ride it !
Bro you just convinced me ..this will be my.first bike..the way you explained it and had fun with it is just amazing..thank you 😅
Can you give some insight into the awesome road or not so awesome road feature. It's a must for me, as some roads turn to poo, too narrow of covered in moss etc, so I need to know how the function works for marking that road as BAD, and when I'm on the great road that I want to ride again, marking that at GOOD. once marked, how do you recall this information???
The amount of stupidity from the commment “See this is what happened when you stop and have a conversation” ya keep dreaming kid it ain’t true…. that’s it the real world…
You were going with the flow of traffic smh
Never issue with breaks..it's perfect
I always Watch the tires instead of the cars.I'm glad to hear that advice because it's so true. Even once parked at intersections if they start moving i'm paying attention. Thanks for this video as a new rider myself, I am going to take each one of those suggestions and use it in real life.
When at a stop light, don't pull right behind the semi, pickup, or car in front of you. If you can prevent it, don't let the vehicle behind you pull right behind you.
Zzz feel asleep. You must be riding bikes for at least 10 years.
I couldn't agree more with all of these! Well put all new riders should watch this video and study it over and over again I do every one of these things especially tap my brakes constantly when downshifting
Regards from Hungary of a VFR Crosstourer DCT rider. Best bike l ever owned.
Imagine if they remastered the XB12 to compete with the litter naked bikes 😮
Do the world a favor an stop posting this crap, just plain crap
I love mine. It's 100% perception of speed without actual speed. Between it being small, a surprising 0-30 acceleration, and being able to wring it out all day long, it 'feels' like you are going fast without any chance of getting into trouble. It's such stupid fun. Most surprising is the compliments and questions I get. This county I live in, is full of compensators. Minibikes just aren't a thing here. As I speak to you now about time for the release of 25 models, our local Honda dealership still has 03 Navis. And so you don't see them driving around. And so I'm met with curiosity. By the time they are done talking to me, they want one, LOL!
GIGGLES GIGGLES GIGGLES I am signing off
I started on a 2011 Honda CBR 250R, upgraded to a 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650, upgraded to a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R and have owned 2 of these OG X22's. All that to say, if people treat these little motorcycles for what they are they would have a blast riding and maintaining them. They require a lot of love and care but in my experience that's what made me like them so much! My only tip would be to replace all the parts that have to do with operating the bike: grips, levers, rear sets, throttle and clutch cables, and the stock carb to nibbi or similar performance carb.
Such good content and footage…but the girly giggles in all of your videos make me cringe….they seem soft and feminine along with being so exaggerated. If you stopped the giggles and exaggerated laughs, along with so much talking about things not related to the bike…the delivery would be sooo much better for us.
I see people all the time everyday with no tags/expired tags and they just keep driving around lol
