    I finally bought a 2022 1250 GS Adventure in October 2022. In 18 months I’ve put 12,000 miles on it, and it is hands down the best overall bike I’ve ever owned in over 25 years of motorcycling. My only regret is not buying a GS earlier.

    My parents 50/51 years both have a GS310. Amazing daily commuter, super comfortable, more than enough power for city riding and a way better starting point for anyone interested in a GS. OC

    OC: Welcome to the BMW club. I wasn’t a boxer fan either, was shopping for bikes a few years ago to get back riding and a coworker said I should test an RT. Wasn’t really feeling it. Tried a Concours and it was nice but a bit too heavy. Tested an RT and half a mile in, I knew it was going home with me. Yes, even the RT can lift up the front tire, and there is not way they should ride as light as a they do. Put it on the highway and set the cruise between 70-80 and it’ll purr all day in its happy place. Take it on the back roads and it’ll play in the corners like it’s a second home. Will I own an GS? Possibly, but I keep looking toward the GSA for some reason (probably the extra miles in the larger tank).

    Love my 1250GS. I agree about the quick shifter being abrupt from first to second during sedate riding. However, if you're riding aggressive and get up high in the revs it's almost butter smooth when you actually need it to be. Most reviewers rightfully don't push it in the way (some) owner's would and miss that. Glad you got to ride my favorite! (check out any backcountry discovery route on it!)

    Picked up a new Anniversary in Dallas last year and rode it back to San Francisco. Mostly because the local dealer wanted nearly $6K more. Great ride over my 7 week trip stopping in all the cool little towns. Owner of many GSs since the first 1000 in the late 80's. Previous bike was a 2015 GS with 60K on the speedo. This bike was amazing every way in my humble opinion and should have been bike of the year. After 15 months approaching 23K miles. Love it. FYI: 75 and riding since 1967. Accident free until 2 years ago driver turned right from the left lane. Damn.

    Hey Chase, couple of things you are riding a GS standard so the gas tank is 5 gallons, the pegs are stock 719 option which came on the 40th anniversary model, also the lower lights are aftermarket. If you contact me I might be able to arrange ride on the R1300GS

    Personally having ridden all of The r1250's, to me GS is the ultimate vehicle on that platform. All the others feel somehow wrong. RS and R has a typical suspension setup compared to telelever on GS and RT. I thought i'd like RS and R more but there is way better naked bikes than R and RS feels like an odd duck. Then we have RT with 17's front and rear and more fairing which i thought in theory should translate into a better street bike than GS. For me RT feels way more heavier to manouver and sitting position feels way more goofy than on GS.

  • @zerocool6370

    Thank you @@getty6974 good to know I think the new RTs have the same telelever suspension In the front the RS I believe has normal suspension but I don't think that would be the bike for me. Still need to demo them both though before I make a decision

  • @getty6974

    @getty6974

    2 ай бұрын

    @@zerocool6370 RT and GS has always been more or less The same bike. RT being sport touring with 17" front and rear wheel. Also fairings and less ground clearance. GS has 19"/21" front depends on options and more ground clearance and less wind protection. Both have telelever. RS/R have normal suspension. Telelever is good for comfort, bad for high end performance. So telelever is really good for honestly 90% of your average bikers.
