@rjway5923 I've had one. It had its quirks. Their reliability seems shoddy although not everyone appears to have issues. It is a shame on China topic though. I had a 2017. Not sure if issues have been addressed on newer bikes. I probably won't buy another KTM.

@@tannerkennedy4941 quirks have not gotten better, it’s electrical issues nowadays. The lower cc bikes are now put together in India. I would rather buy a bike made in Mexico still repping a quality Austrian company but I can’t support ktm no more. Dirt bikes seem to be the only thing they can get right reliably.

I have an SD 1290R and it's definitely not the fastest bike, but it will get to that top speed faster than anything I have ever ridden. The torque is absolutely _insane._ It can (and happily will) wheelie all the way through third gear at any speed.

OC: that is exactly what we need.... I bought a gen 1 last year, and it's my 1sst hyper naked, love it. I actually think it's the perfect street bike. Being someone who has only bought sportbikes in the past, and still has one, I really don't think I'll be buying another one, this class of motorcycle is so much better for the street. The torque on these motors is amazing, and makes a simple ride to work just plain fun. I can just ride easy and chill, or I can attack the turns, all in one bike. Really wish I would have bought this class of bike sooner.

So in terms of absolute peak hp, the M1000R and Streetfighter V4S make 205 and 208 respectively. In terms of torque though the Superduke has them both beat out hard, especially at lower RPM’s. 107 ft lbs at 8000 rpm… vs 83 ft lbs at 11,000 rpm (BMW) and 90 ft lbs at 9,500 rpm (Ducati) perspectively… the BMW and Ducati both need to be revved, whereas the Superduke you can keep in lower gears…

OC: Honestly I'm not a fan of most KTM bikes, but damn I love the SuperDuke. I test rode a R Evo last year before getting my RSV4 Factory limited and I nearly bought it. I was testing out a bunch of top end hypernaked bikes and IMO the SuperDuke R Evo beats out the Streetfighter V4 and S1000R. It's got less power and torque compared to the others, but it was easily more fun to ride. It's the perfect hypernaked for any psychopath on 2 wheels. It be a hard purchase for me. If I wasn't going from a MT09 SP I might have gotten the Evo. Then I test rode a RSV4 Factory limited and knew I was getting it. Still the SuperDuke R Evo is an incredible bike, especially when it's black with orange accents to go with the frame.

Performance is not capped out. I just bought this bike last weekend. It's a function of engine heat not service. When cold you're limited to 5500 rpm... Once warm it redlines as normal. Stock seat is not good. Too thin and digs in to your thighs. My 2018 Superduke seat is way better. Need to check the KTM ergo seat for my 1390.

Never ridden a ktm but ive never really wanted to either , they just don't appeal to me and its so expensive in the UK , I'll stick with my aprilla tuono factory 2019 with its puny 175 BHP thanks 😂

I like your reviews but you need to get your facts straight. It’s not 8 valves pr. cylinder. It’s 4. Neither the BMW or the Ducati delivers more torque and you have to go to M territory on the Beemer to deliver more horses and that’s means more cash on the counter and I’m guessing the Ducati aint cheap either. So when comparing remember prices too 😊

Notice that you often roll up to stop lights and stop signs in neutral, and then put your foot/feet down still in neutral. THIS IS BAD! Instead, when coming to a complete stop, you should always keep it in 1st gear, right foot on brake, left to the ground…..and check your mirrors to ensure that the vehicle behind you stops. STOP PULLING UP TO COMPLETE STOPS IN NEUTRAL! Only a matter of time before you’re squashed. Ride on. 🤘🏻☮️

Why would they send you a bike? You can't even fully ride?

As an mt09 rider. I love it but ktm reliability scares the hell out of me
