    I had near enough the same problem with new struts and aftermarket strut tops. First test drive was terrible, got home sprayed where I could with silicone spray and it still knocked, rattled, and squeaked.....the next morning all the noises were gone but had a bit of spring boinging from one side......can't stop it, I may try some spray grease into bearing ring.....

    2014 VW GLI. Replaced front stock Fuchs setup with Bilstein B4 shocks (amazon), SKF bearing and Lemforder from FCP Euro. Had my non VW local guy install today. Also experiencing a knock/clunk in my front passenger side shock area. And all my dashlights are going off which looks like a bad connection/possible replacement of the wheel speed sensor after installing shocks. The hits keep coming but they won't get me down. Thanks for sharing your video. I should have used your drop test on my SKF/Lemforder setup before installing it.

    Great video! I’m having sort of a similar problem. A shop installed my VWR springs with new mounts and bearings but there is popping and banging noise from the driver’s side. There is play in the strut assembly as I can move it up and around a little bit by hand with the car jacked up and wheel off. The shop used a cheap (at least $ wise) OE style replacement but either installed the mount in the wrong direction or there is play between the mount and bearings like you demonstrated. I’m going with the mount and bearing clearance is too large. I am curious if your mounts in the video, to replace the 034’s, are VW branded or an OEM equivalent?

    dude I also live in Hawaii, on Oahu. yes our roads fucking suck. seems like the state is constantly working on them but they stay the same, or a year goes by and the road they fixed goes right back to shit. #jobsecurity but yeah man, I drive a 94' passat glx 2.8L VR6 with 262 cams, 3" intake and exhaust. running into some lean problems, but being an obd1 its hard to diagnose exactly the culprit of my problem. I also have a bunch of cracked vacuum lines that need to be replaced, but i've been thinking of deleting the SAI and EVAP systems. I run rough on cold start, and after 3k-4k RPM the CEL light comes on, but goes away after i release the throttle. you got any ideas as to what it could be? If you ever wanna link up and car cruise and take pics lmk! I live in town.

    28-30 psi on k04 turbo ? Mine is only pushing 22 psi and 16 psi by redline

  • @ispeedify
    @ispeedify6 жыл бұрын

    yourfast07 I'm gonna take a guess that your running a 2 bar MAP sensor, right? If so then that's why you pull 16-22psi. I have an OEM mk6 golf R 3 bar MAP sensor in my GTI and the tune is specifically designed for this which allows the K04 to request 30-32psi, peak at 28-30psi and holds strong at 25psi. The only 2 Tuners that I know are doing this are United Motorsports and APR. I'm running UM💪🏾

  • @yourfast07
    @yourfast076 жыл бұрын

    Dru Saunders Yes I have oem 2 bar MAP, but also Hpa tune. I will be switching to UM I guess lol, are you running stock fuel pump and injectors ?

  • @ispeedify
    @ispeedify6 жыл бұрын

    yourfast07 HPA is a good company but I've not heard much on there tunes so I can't speak for them. I had United Motorsports stage 1 and it was comparable to everyone else's stage 2. When I went K04 they highly recommended the 3bar MAP tune to squeeze everything out of the K04 that you can. Yes, I'm running stock fuel pump and stock injectors. There's only one company that makes aftermarket injectors for the TSI engine and they are $400 per injector! It's not worth the upgrade unless you're going fully built engine, IMO.

    100 octane fuel and a gal of ethanol and you pass I38

  • @ssjneko1
    @ssjneko16 жыл бұрын

    I made 353whp in my '08.5 GTI on race gas with APR V3.1 tune, probably very similar to the CTS tune. The K04 had over 100k miles on it at the time and now has over 130k miles on it. Adding water/meth hardly did anything to my numbers except for lowering IATs significantly when spraying after my FMIC. Even spraying 375cc after the throttle body, it doesn't add enough octane boost to run the 100oct. tune. I was pulling waaay too much timing to safely run it, like 11.5 deg. vs. 1.5 deg. on 93 tune. So my point is that water/meth can have great cooling effects, reduces knock, as well as great valve cleaning powers, but don't expect it to give you a huge boost in power unless you're planning on running race gas. A re-tune for just the w/m seems like a bit of waste of money to me. You will probably see all of this when you start logging.

  • @ispeedify
    @ispeedify6 жыл бұрын

    ssjneko1 You are 100% correct. I don't expect too much more power from the WMI. I'm running it for cooling and cleaning only. United Motorsports does not tune for WMI so I'm stuck there, but both the GLI and the MK7 GTI can tune for it so that allows them to spray more volume or have a dual nozzle setup(one in the throttle pipe and one after the trottle body) for cooling, cleaning and power gains. My research has led me to believe that spraying anything above 225ml when you're not tuned for methanol is complete overkill causing the air to carry too much moisture into the intake. I'm going with spraying only enough to cool/clean and completely vaporizing before it gets to the intake,🤙🏾

  • @ssjneko1
    @ssjneko16 жыл бұрын

    Sounds good. I'm running the Snow Stage 2 kit with 2 nozzles, one directly after my Forge FMIC (100cc) and one in a throttle body spacer (175cc) for 275cc total. I have it set to start spraying at 8 psi and full spray at 20psi. Good luck on your next dyno.

    Anis Abdelmalek Elosmani Honestly, I'm not really sure. I think I'm making between 340hp-350hp and maybe a little bit more in torque but every time I run with these two I can keep up and sometimes pull on them depending on my start. For the most part I'm chalking it up to power to weight ratio and driver mod, but I'll find out next week what my numbers are.
