    Why are you saying that you have a French Door fridge when you do NOT. Difficult to trust someone who gets an obvious fact so wrong.

  • @OctaneSlain
    @OctaneSlain23 сағат бұрын

    @@travel0926 The model number is referenced in the title. Even if I called it a "neon green, revolving swing door nano-fridge" the fix would still be relevant to the model number. I just figured the majority of people needing assistance were referencing their fridge by their model numbers. Yea, I called it a "french door" instead of "side by side." My mistake. If you can't process the fact I made a minor mistake, I implore you to watch another video, or even create one of your own. Comment chains (positive or negative) help boost the algorithm for suggesting videos across KZread. Because of that fact, I don't mind your criticism, but I'm not sure what your end game is? A slight ego boost for correcting someone over something so minor? Bravo, champ 👏 You got me 🤷🏼‍♂️

    @@OctaneSlain who sounds hurt now. Not an ego boost but just pointing out an obvious mistake. The troubleshooting is completely different. A French door style has the ice maker in the warmer fresh food section of the appliance and the side by side that you have has the ice maker installed in the freezer section. That fact that I have to point this out is sad and shows your lack of understanding the rudimentary facts. I searched on French door ice maker as that is what I was searching on as many people do. Would you be so defensive if someone posted a video about 4WD SUV repair but the video was about a FWD Sedan? Would you be afraid to see a mistake you made and instead attack someone else who pointed it out? If this boosts your views, then even better. I am all for what you do trying to help people. Just wanted it to help the correct group of people. Take some constructive criticism, correct your video and move one and continue cashing your engagement checks.

    @@travel0926 I fixed the title. And that analogy would only work if someone specifically labeled the video title "Ford Excursion 4WD - Starter Replacement" then recorded a video of an actual Ford Excursion 4WD (and actually replacing the starter,) then mistakenly calling it a Ford Fusion in the video. Same concept: A.) Manufacture and model is in title B.) Titled unit is recorded C.) Titled repair is demonstrated Only mistake is calling the recorded object a different model name of the same manufactured product. At the end of the day you still: A.) Watched the model used B.) Watched how the repair is performed C.) Applied that knowledge to your model A simple mistake in verbiage does not affect the outcome of said repair.

    Has the fridge made a hissing sound at all? If not, it could be the water feed tube solenoid going bad. You can try to disconnect it and see if water comes out during the icemaker cycle. And while the line is out, try blowing into it. If you can't pass air through it easily, it's got an ice blockage. If the air blows easily, more than likely the solenoid has went bad and needs replaced.

    How about rebuilding stock 4 valve, same K member, same wiring, ac, etc etc. Just a thought..

  • @OctaneSlain
    @OctaneSlain8 күн бұрын

    I bought this car as an unfinished swap. BUT if I were to do this with the original blown up 4v, I would still choose to do a Coyote swap versus the 4v rebuild... My reasonings: - I would go with a Gen 2 Coyote. They are capable of making 1000whp on the stock internals. The 4v would need a fully forged rotating assembly to make that kind of power. The cost factor of that type of rebuild skyrockets the cost of the 4v - parts, machine work, etc. - The Gen 2 heads are cast versions the Boss 302 "Road Runner" heads and they flow amazing out of the box. The 4v heads would need port work to match the airflow the Gen 2 heads are capable of. - The Gen 2 is much more fuel efficient versus the 4v. The VVT really is a game changer when it comes to on the fly cam profile adjustments. Efficient when you need it, aggressive when you need it. - Depending on whether the Mach 1 was an automatic or manual, you only get the forged crankshafts with the manual Mach 1s. Coyotes ALL have forged crankshafts. The automatic Machs were paired with cast cranks. - The stock Mach 1 k-member can be used with the Coyote, it's just easier to swap to tubular when you're pulling the engine out regardless. - All essential existing Mach 1 wiring harness is re-used. You just remove the harness and send it out to Lethal Nate. You tell him exactly what you are reusing (a/c, alternator, etc) and he will accommodate the harness as necessary. Then if you're using the PBH control pack harness, they send you a barebones harness meant to run the Coyote. Only thing you need to do under the dash is add your OBDII port. Lethal Nate can also tie into the control pack harness with the Mach 1 harness so you don't have to troubleshoot any of the wiring. But doing it yourself still isn't that difficult. I had to finish some loose ends on this car as well, like wiring up the OSS to the Coyote PCM. Seems intimidating, but with the right diagrams, it's fairly painless. I despise wiring and I still managed to do it. - I am reusing ALL of the original Mach 1 accessories - A/C, alternator, power steering, hydroboost, etc. It all bolts up to the Coyote relatively easy. Just need to fab up your own brackets or buy pre-made brackets from PBH. This is about as rough as it'll get for the swap. UNLESS you buy all of PBH accessories brackets and alternator relocation kit. Then it is basically painless and a direct bolt in swap. I'm not knocking the original 4v, but the room and potential to grow is much more exponential with any Coyote gen swap.

    I know this was posted 3 years ago but I just bought my 2012 CTS-V Coupe last summer and just now stumbled upon your video. I think it is an excellent and thorough summary of the car model and all the things to look out for. I will remember the tip about the center console going out and where to look first if that happens. Actually, I'll probably go check mine today just to make sure the bolt is tight. Mine was 100% stock when I bought it and the only upgrades, I've made is to put in a Soler Engineering throttle body and throttle controller and a Grom Vline2 wireless CarPlay/Android entertainment system. I actually didn't have the luxury of physically inspecting my car as I live in Maine and bought my car online (didn't want someone else to snatch it before I had a chance to buy it) from a dealer in Massachusetts, and they drove it up to Maine for me. Car only had one owner and had long Carfax list of dealer servicing to include struts, brakes, tires, and new supercharger. Had 108,000 miles but in excellent shape and everything on it worked. Got a window sticker for it from MonroneyLabels.com and found the sticker price for my car in 2012 was $70,020.00! So, for $27,498.00 in 2023 I thought I got a good deal. Only repair I've had to have done so far is a rear transmission seal that was starting to leak so had the rear output seal and rear output flange replaced. I absolutely love this car, and at my age, I'll probably keep this car for the rest of my serviceable life and pass it on to another family member, ... 🤣

I hate that you can't press the preset seat adjust button to reposition unless you are in park or neutral. I hate that there is a certain combination of steps, which if you 1) Open driver door, 2) open trunk with button 3) lock your car while inside and door is open, then 4) close the door and 5) go to trunk to get stuff, 6) close trunk, 7) go back and unlock and open and get in and close the driver door, that the trunk re-opens, pops up on it's own. I hate that I can't turn off interior lights from automatically turning on when I open the door.

You will have to repeat this process and set it back to "long" defrost. Auto mode doesn't do a good job of cycling between defrost modes and let's your water line freeze up
