In today's video a buddy and I fix the infamous Fuse 27 issue that plagues all 12th gen Ford F-150s.
My truck has never had an issue, and even if your truck has never had an issue, it's best you replace it just for the peace of mind. Because once fuse 27 blows, it can leave you stranded--as it is the fuse responsible for your fuel pump relay.
There has actually been extremely severe instances of the fuse blowing and actually melting the entire fuse box! That would be a NIGHTMARE of a fix and an expensive one to boot.
The install itself is fairly straight forward. It is an official Ford TSB. So you can buy an official Motorcraft "kit" that comes with two tubings of heat activated shrink wrap, a new wire with a spade terminal, and a new 20amp block style fuse. The kit allows you to relocate the original spade fuse 27 to a better, larger location in the unused fuse 70 location.
Install is fairly easy for anyone handy with wiring and soldering. If you've ever installed a car stereo, you'll have no issues doing this.
