Looks like the mare had the same treatment like the foal when she was a foal and that is why the mare is so quiet because she knows that the human being would not hurt her baby
@annmurry1628Ай бұрын
This is a very good way to teach a foal how to introduce them to us humans with out pushing them around so the foal could get injured if they get pushed around and this way they have more respect to the people who are going to train them when they are older than they are now

That's one active foal you got there, girl. With how active that foal is, this mare may give birth soon by nightfall in her stall in the stable of the barn.
@tadhgpheaitwillie2 ай бұрын
Thank you. That video was taken many years ago. As it happened, she didn't foal for weeks after. In my experience, the foal becomes less active as it gets bigger inside and nearer to the date of birth :)

I used to work on my father's farm and I noticed all baby animals get kind of skittish windy weather. In fact, I live opposite a Primary school (5 - 11 year old) now and the children always seem to run around faster and more excitable when it is windy.

So cute. Why have that pipe/pole standing out in the grassy area? Looks dangerous for the horses.
@tadhgpheaitwillie Жыл бұрын
Thanks. It is not dangerous. I removed the plastic electric tape from it while I was letting the foals out to grass for the first time, to prevent them running into the electric tape.

Thank you. I'm not an expert on colour genetics, but I assume that it's hust that the white gene in her is very expressive and is dominant over the bay gene. Lots of Clydesdale horses have very white/roan colouring like this.

He definitely knows how majestic and regal he is as he gallops around to show off. Beautiful example. I live in a village in England and they still use Clydesdales traditionally to pull carriages. They get plenty of rest and food and don't go out in hot weather but they love interacting with people. All the best from Dan.
