Here is a man who understands the non religious side of the golden rule. If you care for and care about your dogs, barn cats and horses, in a way that they can understand, they will repay the kindness. I grew up being taught to make horses do things. After Dad’s mind began to slip, and his horses were being beaten and starved, my wife and I brought twelve back to the farm for another chance. I learned quickly that it is much more enjoyable for horses and people to trust each other. Dad’s horses would only come in from the pasture for grain, now these horses will walk to me, just as these do. Dirty fingernails and soft talk.

Robert Queberg: There's an American from Texas named Rick Gore ("Think Like a Horse" KZread channel and website) who demonstrates and explains horse behavior "from the horse's point of view", how to understand the horse's behavioral cues and work with the natural behavior when training. Sounds like you've naturally discovered this on your own. Wonderful that you've given the 12 horses a new home and a good life.
