    I manage a campground and we do charge for using the showers. If you have an RV with a shower in it you can shower for free so you're not really paying for the shower. What you are paying for the is the showering building and water heaters that the campground has to buy and maintain.

    Van people love dogs for security but rarely highlight the dog smell, especially wet dog smell that overwhelms these tiny spaces. I couldn't have a dog inside, much less on my bed after running around outside.

    Hi Roz, New to your channel but enjoyed this one, amused to hear of the canine mexican wave of barking 😄 After many noisy experiences we tend to go to CCC or whatever they are called these days you are pretty much guaranteed silence after 22:00, doesn't help if you are trying to work, but that'll take the camping world a while to catch up. Cheers for now Graham

    Looks like you had a great few day in Yorkshire, Roz, and the weather was with you too which always helps. I’m impressed by Winston’s array of treats and your air fryer cookery is coming along nicely. I have to say I don’t like the concept of pay as go showers, although just to add I’ve done a lot of camping and caravanning I’ve done nothing since 1997, so I’m completely out of touch by by what today’s sites have to offer. However, judging by your videos these offerings have increased a lot! Really looking forward to Winston charioteering again next week, this was a hugely fun video first time around and I watched it a lot!😃🚲🐶

    Winston does like to have a variety of treats (and he deserves them). I'm not a fan of pay as you go showers. The timer turns my shower routine into an olympic sport! But the campsite was top notch and the facilitates were excellent. Thanks for watching and following our adventure :)

    Get the Laptop fired up and either do some work or watch a good movie. Next time you are out buy some cat litter and a rubber mat. Put your boots on the mat and fill them up with cat litter over night. Then always keep your wet boots in your pod like that from now on. You can also put the cat litter into a pair of old sox, it also smells nice.❤

    The charge for the shower does seem excessive given the fact it has a timer as well . To me it looks as though that as a commercial site they have levied a charge to increase revenue from the tent campers. A bit of a captured audience . Most caravans these days ,the larger ones😂, tend to be fitted with a shower and ideal on a fully serviced pitch. The facilities do look top notch. Love the Vlog.

  • @Roz.S

    That's something that I forgot to note. If I had a caravan with a shower, I could have used the fully serviced pitch and had my own showers, so I was hit in the pocket twice. Anyway, it was a lovely campsite. Thanks so much for watching.

    Enjoying your videos, I can relate to much of what you say - especially the "I don't want to I" until you're away. Great video, thanks very much for sharing. You've probably considered this already, but I wonder if a trailer tent might be under 1000kg but have good space etc? For off grid wintering a diesel heater might be cheaper than gas bottles. Also lithium batteries are great for off grid living, especially when you have solar panels charging them up all through the summer. And for battery charging in winter, a small generator might be a good bet.

  • @Roz.S
    @Roz.S15 сағат бұрын

    Thanks so much. I've had my fair share of tents so I wanted something more solid, especially when parked at a coast in 45+mph winds. With regards to this video, I wanted to review the Pod as standard, without any modifications or extras. But those could be added to give a better experience :) Thanks for watching.

    @@Roz.S , apologies for pestering about this, but I suffer from the sad delusion that I know what is best for other people, and its a hard habit to break! The thing is, you clearly love travelling, and you spend an awful lot of nights in the Go Pod, and that makes me wonder if you've ever considered full time travelling? If you could remove rent or mortgage payments from your budget, plus those awful utility bills, you might save enough money to fund the purchase of a really good motorhome- plus a few grand for the extra gear needed for off grid living (solar panels, lithium batteries, a generator, a diesel heater, etc). You might even consider a composting toilet to remove the dependency on the Elsan facilities that are needed with cassette toilets. And you could definitely fit a shower/wet room. The other factor is that with a motorhome that was off grid capable, you could stay in free locations at least half the time, which would save lots of money in campsite fees. You might need a storage unit for household stuff at about £1k per year, which would help free up space in a motorhome. But you clearly take such joy in travelling and being outdoors that to an outside observer, it almost seems like a natural step to go full time with it. I live on a narrowboat myself, so I'm very interested in managing the issues of off grid living, and in my case I never use electric hookup, and I'm completely off grid other than water fill-ups and getting rid of garbage etc.

    @@bigtoe333333 Thank you. I do spend a lot of my time in my Pod (about half of the year) but I still like to have a home to go back to. At the moment, my household bills are very low and I can afford to have both. I don't think I would cope living full time on the road. Although never say never.

    £31 sounds a lot but i usually camp - i didn't check what £camping is here. The thing that would bug me would be suddenly finding i didn't have 50p with me! At £31 they could give you 2x 50p back for showers ;) That'd be nice. Ten minutes is a good session and i suppose a meter stops people from really abusing the water.

  • @Roz.S
    @Roz.S14 сағат бұрын
