Is this campsite TOO CHEAP? 💰 | Fforest Fields Campsite in Mid Wales PART 1 | VLOG 6

UPDATE ON THE PUB: The Hundred House Inn (a mile away via a walk through the farm) has only just been reopened after a two-year renovation, and the owner does welcome dogs and their owners and has made a special, warm, covered outside spot for them, with direct access to the pub, overlooking the garden and the beautiful Edw stream. It has just started serving food too, I hear that Sunday lunch is very good!

It is a fantastic site, the people are really lovely. They have some South African friends and I will be going back in the summer to have a “braai” which is a BBQ with them. They know a butcher and will get some meat, which is very good they say. When we have it, you should join us. 👍🤪

Hi Roz and Winston, after enjoying your vlog we decided to book 3 nights at Fforest Fields with out little tourer and Grace our dog, when we arrived we said we had seen your vlog and the said we were the third lot of people to say they had come along at your recommendation but think there was a lot more, we got back today and have really enjoyed our stay so peaceful and relaxing and lovely people. Thank you so much for watching my video. It's great to hear that you all had a great time at Fforest Fields campsite. A few weeks after publishing the video, the owners sent me an email to thank me after a few people had mentioned they had heard about them from KZread. (The owners didn't know I was making a video when I stayed.) I'm glad the place is getting the recognition it deserves. Thank you very much for trusting my recommendation and giving it a go! Wishing you all the best on your future travels.

So glad to hear that you enjoy our videos. I do love travelling with my pod and dog, but it’s not all as relaxing as the videos make out. Moving to different campsites can be exhausting, I never know where I am so I’m always checking maps for everything, and the weather plays a bit part in affecting our day 😅 But I LOVE the freedom it gives me. Thanks for another nice video, the noise from your motor mover is probably gravel sticking in your tyre tread and then crunching as it passes through the roller, I have had this a few times on sites with fairly small size gravel. That site looks amazing for the price, good location too. 👍👍👍

As someone who has lived in Wales for many years, I can tell you that most of the 'A' roads are like the one you drove on, and any alternative route would probably have been no better. I have made the journey from Cardiff, following mainly the A470, all the way up to Llandudno many times. It is the most amazing drive for scenery but you can't do it quickly due to other traffic, 20mph speed limits through towns & villages, and that is the case for most of Wales. So don't worry about it, just drive and enjoy the scenery. I'm going to have to check out Fforest Fields later in the spring, once I have my new camper van as it looks like a nice place to spend a weekend. Keep up the good work with the videos. Love Winston and his propeller tail 😁😁

I have a subscription with Epidemic Sound where I can download copyright free music. I listen to snippets of lots of tracks and download about 20 random songs I kinda like. Then I import them into my editor and just randomly pick what I think will go with each chapter. Honestly, I try not to spend too much time on the music because I would never get any video finished if I did. Editing already take me a whole day. So, as long as the music kinda works, then I move onto the next part. Thanks for watching and commenting.

And the surrounding area is, as you have found lovely to just have a good walk. Builth wells, is smashing, nice shops and café's. I agree about the local pub not being dog friendly. But the seven stars , not that far away, is dog friendly and the food is delicious 😋. I think you can walk to there too. Winston is just a gorgeous cutie 💕. Take care 😊

@@garylovattlovatt193 I've been hiking in loads of places with no signal, and it still works. Plus, you can download the maps before you leave. I could run out of battery, but I carry a power bank that has 3 charges in it anyway. Of course, I could lose my phone, but then I could also lose a map. 😅 Also, my phone map doesn't go out of date. I went walking in the Lakes once and I let the guy I was with lead the way with a map. BIG MISTAKE! So many things went wrong that day 😂😂 He blamed one of them on the fact that his map was old and the routes had changed 😂

@@garylovattlovatt193 In fairness, I'm a digital marketer, so I love my tech. But I understand the arguments for a map and compass, and I can use one if I need to. But whatever gets you home safely 👍🏼😀 Thanks so much for watching my videos.

Apple trees will produce lots of tiny fruit that struggle to ripen if they overbear ... that is too many flowers are pollinated and therefore produce too many small, unripened apples. In your case it might be the wild apple, Malus sylvestris which is a crab apple. It has lots of small, yellow/green bitter apples and grows to about 10m. You can id it in the Winter by a short row of hairs on the bud scales. Also, so many wild apple trees have interbred with commercial varieties it could easily be a hybrid.

I'd take a look at fungi, I used to go to a dairy farm and get giant puffballs from in the fields and chicken of the woods a type of bracket fungus in trees and many more there are plenty of books about mushrooms and hedgerow foraging.

Maybe they don’t believe in ripping people off… plus if they are not members of all these associations they save the fees charged by them.
