Welcome to Cold Crash Pictures! This channel doubles as both a showcase for all my independent film projects, and as a place to air my grievances concerning the critical backlash against 'The Chronicles of Riddick.' Also, dinosaurs.

I would say as a 'on the go' watcher, the mobile app interface should be another category. Its basically impossible to find 'my list' on Netflix on the app

The only issue I have with Tubi is that the TV app kicks me out mid-movie if I don't poke it every couple ad breaks. Idk if it's a software/app issue, but it's a mild issue compared (which Pluto also has on Roku for some reason).

I agree with every point of this video, sadly Tubi and the Criterion Channel are not avaible in my area But one perk of coming from a Eurooean state is that mine (like many others) has a national public broadcaster which offers streaming options completely free. Sure there's not a competitive selection compared to classic streaming sites, but it's convenient and I'm glad it exists

About Amzon's streaming quality: My partner and I watch pulse some months ago on Amazon. I was interested in seeing it because I saw a video about a scare in the movie. However, the scare depended so much on the lighting and the actors movements being concealed in darkness. The Amazon stream was so bright that there was no sense that the character was supposed to be hidden at all. Probably the most disappointing experience I've had watching a movie.

I could tell your criteria was subjective because you did not include Crunchyroll in your list. Which is a segue into a rant by Mother’s Basement on streaming services quietly discontinuing beloved and niche titles after having denied the opportunity to buy physical media. Forget cable, we’re heading to broadcast television days when a series disappears until summer reruns and then is lost to time. There was also a reference to the high seas as an option, but I’m not a sailor so I can’t comment on that.

I have one issue with Tubi, my Kiwi ass has to use a VPN to see most of their selection. I also want to shout out Mosfilm, who have a significant chunk of Soviet cinema uploaded to KZread for free with English subtitles and no ads.

27:46 Mine makes that noise too. You don’t see me indulging her in the middle of the day. Disappointed with the ending. I thought they were all going to fight to the death. I thought Tubi was really gonna get in there. So Criterion wins again. This is why I don’t trust pretty white boys. Anyways, you’re welcome. For calling you pretty. But only because you put the Mulan thing in there. Don't you ever burp in my face again.

I recently made a video on Queen of Blood. I had originally watched it on Amazon, but when I went to make the video, it was gone and now free on Tubi. I didn't talk about Tubi in my video but something that I find nice was even though there were ads they didn't seem overwhelming and didn't really take me out of the moment of the movie as much as other ad centered streaming services. To be fair that might just be my experience with Queen of Blood.

Saw Wait Until Dark on the tubi list and had to comment to rec it HARD to anyone who sees this. It contains the best, extremely earned jumpscare of all time and is a great choice for a group. I got my extended family to watch it, and across a group aged tween to grandparent, on a spectrum from hardcore horror devotee to "still has nightmares about the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz" everyone loved it.

In Defense of Criterion Channel: I watch it on my Apple TV+ streaming box, and before that on the knockoff $15 Walmart Roku streaming box and their streaming app is So User Friendly compared to a lot of others (looking at you Disney+), and they not only keep the excellent curation, but have only two tabs: one to browse lists of current and suggested collections, and one that shows a list of not only your watchlist when exoanded, but everything you have been watching in the past if you didn't finish it and wanted to go back to it under 'Resume'. With companies increasing focus on mobile you may have made a mistake judging based only on their desktop sites, I can also vouch they responded to feedback from the community about the new Criterion 24/7 feature within 24 hours with updates which is fantastic service and interaction. Best $99 a year I spend.

I was recently kicked off the family Netflix. I don't miss it at all. Instead of buying my own subscription I got a Cinema Pass and could watch Dune four times on 70mm in a classic old cinema for a set monthly rate. Instead of experiencing the crushing pain of Netflix butchering Avatar or cancelling any show I enjoy. Challengers was surprisingly fun and I finally caught up with Past Lives. Some of the 7 cinemas my subscription works for even have old movie days! And you can't use your phone while watching!

First of all, that's a nice collection of dinosaur figures from tbe quick glimpse I saw. I heard of Tubi and I always assumed it wasn't worth watching because it's free. Not because I think free automatically means bad, but because the paid services already suck so much. I will definitely give Tubi a look after this. Also you should watch Dinosaur Valley Girls if you want to watch not only the shittiest dinosaur movie, but also one of the shittiest movies I've ever seen.
