Father Johnathan Meyers has left me speechless. Thank you for being a true teacher of our Lord. You are a true treasure to Catholics everywhere!
The church of Jesus Christ is without spot. When it comes to different kinds of churches we have today in our days whether Roman Catholic church, Orthodox, Baptist, Evangelical, Prostatant etc, some are good whereas some are better but they all have their excesses. The protestant don't practice tbe eucharist which is clearly stated in the Bible; the Lord's supper. The Roman Catholic church their excesses is that they built images and pray to it, God is against it in the old and the new testament. The argument of pictures in our phones of deceased relatives is not the same with making statute of them and praying with it. The fact that you think you pray and get answers to prayers does not make it right bcos even Devil can answer prayer too when access is given to him. Remember what King Jeroboam did in 1 Kings 12:22-30 and lots of plethora of scriptures. The line between honour and worship is closely related. There are statutes of Patriots in the states for purposes of honour and remembrance not worship and nobody prays to them which is tantamount to idolatry. So, that is one thing about Roman Catholic that is unscriptural.
What Jesus meant is not that, we should not call someone a father but in a different sense. If you study the scripture where he made that statement you will understand that the Jews sees their forefathers Abraham, Issac and Jacob as their eternal father but have less regard where God is their heavenly father. You can see that play out when they ask Jesus are you greater than our father Jacob. So, Jesus wanted to change that narrative and make them to understand that God is their father bcos they don't know or understand it that way. Thus, there is nothing wrong with calling someone your father as far as you're aware that God is your heavenly father.
My problem is that my protestant friends don't want to ask questions, they avoid it because they know I go on the offense and then they can't answer.

I'm gratified to see Fr. Hollowell looking fit and healthy. We appreciate your intention and sacrifice. I would remain away from the Church until entering RCIA in 2008 and becoming a Catholic at Easter Vigil Mass in 2009 at the age of fifty seven.. I was fortunate to only experience a predation moment, verbal abuse, and a public humiliation (during change of classes at a Catholic high school.) I remain a Catholic but the Church's silence continues to be troubling. It's only a coincidence that I came across this talk and as it happens my birthday is February 17th. You have been courageous as a priest and in your suffering. I thank our gracious Lord for your healing.

Please ad prayers for the students and families of those students who were victims of violence in Florence yesturday. I was on my way to St John's in Harrison when I heard this . 😢
I am unable to attend since I am working with 70 students and adults attending Vacation Bible school. My 3rd year I'm very blessed to be working with St John's in Ohio even though St Lawrence is mybparish. Please keep us all in your prayers. An awesome youth and adults group to work with. I am so blessed to be able to serve others. Thank you. ❤

Father Meyer, there was a video on here of you going through the stations of the Eucharist with your flock, it was so incredibly insightful but it seems to have been removed, I think it had ‘90% of catholics don’t believe in the real presence’, I was sharing that video widely! What “works” did the thief on the cross have in order to enter the kingdom? Works are a result or fruit of true faith. Faith without them is dead. We do not have the ability to “earn” our way to heaven through our minuscule works. Nothing even holds a light to the sacrifice of our Savior? Was His work on the cross not enough?
Rather than baptize your child raise them up to know and live Christ so that they will chose him themselves when you understand what they are choosing.
Jesus says confess your sins to the father in heaven. Nothing wrong with confessing to another brother but the Catholic Church says it is required to absolve sins. That is the issue. The “requirement” to confess to a priest.
Why are church’s built with areas and to kneel and pray in front of statues? Nothing wrong with having them but bowing to them an praying to them is idol worship
Also you mention abortion. Wondering why the “pope” has not rebuked his very flock that promotes abortion? Namely the leader of the free world? Will he openly rebuke Biden and excommunicate him? If not, why? Power? Money? 💰 influence?
