The Holy Spirit is the Father's Gaze on his Son. Likewise, the Son's Gaze on his Father is the Holy Spirit. Paul said it is the spirit of a man that knows the inner man, and it is the Spirit of God who knows God.

Jesus both turned and gazed at Peter when the cock crowed after his denial. It was an intense look of concern for Peter who had in a sense turned away from Jesus. Would Peter fall further away? Jesus' look was a longing for him to turn back to him. To Peter's credit, besides John, he was the only disciple to follow him to the high priest's house that night. The other disciples didn't put themselves in a position that night to deny Jesus. It's one thing to try and fail and another to not even try for fear of failure. Someone might not fail not because he succeeded, but because he never put himself in the challenging situation where he could fail. Imagine doing the right thing anyway even though you know you will fail at it. Don't let the fear of failure cause you to fail to do the right thing.
